I started my career in 1991 as a computer and (QJOLVK /DQJXDJH WHDFKHU 5LJKW IURP WKDW ²UVW moment, I focused on 3 major things: excellence, perseverance and self-­improvement, applying them in everything I did in order to achieve my professional goals or anything else that came to mind. I focused on these 3 factors because I absolutely believe that the woman is the heart of a society and is responsible for raising its future generations. Thanks to my education in Sociology, Psychological Consultancy and Business, I was able to understand the Saudi woman’s need to LPSURYH KHU HI²FLHQW UROH LQ VRFLHW\

This occasion represents a cultural initiative that brings forth the brilliant inspiring artwork of gifted ladies who will, through their masterpieces, electrify Saudi with their creativity and uniqueness, and their competitive spirit. This being said, Al Rajhi Bank is proud to launch the 2011 Ladies Painting Competition. Building on the success of 2010 and your shared feedback, we made several changes to this year’s Competition...

Not long ago I was watching a documentary program about turtles. That’s right, turtles. It was about the nature of their lives, their journeys and migrations, their reproduction and I was really quite dazzled with these amazing creatures. This turtle, the one famous for its sluggish heaviness turned out to be one of the fastest, lightest, most elegant and graceful creatures inside the water. It’s off in such streamline gliding movements and it was similar to watching a bird’s smooth sail through the sky. It also has the kind of intelligence that allows it to take advantage of ocean currents and travel to its destination of choice.... Pg. 4

Today, she occupies positions of power and she is integral in her importance within and outside the home. A woman is the tender mother, the loving daughter, the supportive sister and the faithful wife who gives everything she has to build and protect her family, taking on responsibility for the happiness of everyone around her. As an active member of our community she is the symbol of giving, strength and hard work. Despite the softness of her touch, she works continuously at her own expense, without expecting any return in appreciation. What does a woman need? And how can VKH EH UHZDUGHG IRU KHU LQ²QLWH DELOLW\ WR NHHS giving? By honoring her with a special day or two? By naming a day of the year as “World Women’s Dayâ€?? Or possibly by celebrating “Mother’s Dayâ€? like the western societies? At Al Rajhi Bank, and in our Islamic society in general, we have a different take on how to honor a woman and her positive contribution. We provide her with services, products, efforts, events, and competitions that back up and support her as the honorable lady she is. In a way striving to always stand by her side and lend a helping hand in everything she needs in her daily life! Islamic Banking in the Kingdom

The CEO of Al Rajhi Bank participated in the Jeddah Economic Forum 2011 The CEO, Mr. Abdullah Suleiman Al Rajhi, DI²UPHG WKDW WKH .LQJGRP KDV WKH FDSDELOLW\ to become the center of Islamic Banking in the world. This was brought to attention during his participation as a main lecturer in one of the Jeddah Economic Forum 2011 sessions entitled “Future of Islamic Banking in the Kingdomâ€?. The session focused on the Kingdom’s role in Islamic Financing compared to other countries. +H SRLQWHG RXW WKH GH²FLHQFLHV JDSV DQG weaknesses in the application of Islamic Banking, which are due to the fact that every establishment deals with its own separate Shariah committee. According to him, these committees need to unify the Shariah standards and criteria despite their recent outstanding performance. In other words, there is a strong contradiction in some of the products that is affecting the customers’ trust. In IDFW WKH YROXPH RI ²QDQFH LV JURZLQJ UDQGRPO\ and that is why it needs an organizational VWUXFWXUH WR GH²QH DFFHSWDEOH FRQFHSWV 7DNLQJ this into consideration the monitoring criteria issued by the Islamic Financial Services Council can be adopted as that common organizational platform. The CEO also highlighted the necessity of having these criteria reviewed by a large number of scholars before applying them, and to adopt XQL²HG OHJLVODWLRQV DQG DFFRXQWDELOLW\ FULWHULD IRU WKH ²QDQFLDO HVWDEOLVKPHQWV WKDW DUH LQLWLDOO\ based on 40 criteria.

7KH GLI²FXOW\ of applying these criteria is mainly due to their contradiction with approved international accountability criteria and to the heavy burden of spreading them. Mr. Suleiman Al Rajhi further commented on Islamic Banking markets at beginning stages needing to be enlarged over the next ten years. Especially if we consider that markets such as Indonesia, Turkey and North Africa are expected WR ERRP LQ WKH ²HOG RI %DQNLQJ LQ DFFRUGDQFH with Islamic Shariah. The Finance amount of Islamic Banking in the Kingdom is estimated to be more than 100 billion Saudi Riyals. In addition, there is a very high GHPDQG IRU FXVWRPHUVª ²QDQFH DQG WKH QXPEHU of establishments asking for Islamic products is increasing and expected to rise further in the future. When we review the percentage RI ²QDQFH RIIHUHG E\ ,VODPLF EDQNV RU ,VODPLF transactions performed in 2010, we note that total ²QDQFH SHUFHQWDJH UHDFKHG RI WRWDO ²QDQFH transactions, which is the highest internationally, FRPSDUHG WR LQ EDVLFDOO\ LW LQFUHDVHG E\ LQ RQH \HDU

The Decision Book by Mikael Krogerus and Roman Tschäppeler Originally, this book did not seem like something I would read. However, I surprised myself by ²QLVKLQJ LW DOO LQ RQH VLWWLQJ And I intend to refer back to it whenever I need to approach a situation with a strategic mind.

The Decision Book is a mini-­workbook, less than 200 pages, offering 50 different models that are applicable to thought processes and actions in our daily lives. And with its small slick design you can carry it in your handbag to take advantage of the models that are presented in diagrams. You can copy and apply them to your own situation and even develop them further.

The book is divided into four sections: how to improve yourself;Íž how to understand yourself better;Íž how to understand others better and how to improve others. There are even parts discussing things like why everybody has an iPod or how much to spend on gifts even. Though life is rather random and can’t really EH GH²QHG E\ PRGHOV , IRXQG WKH H[HUFLVHV WR EH useful and was impressed by how versatile it is to people of all ages and situations. At that moment, I wondered how many people truly resemble this turtle? They carry heavy loads over their shoulders and backs in the form of society’s shackles, expectations, worries and stress, all of which impede their movements and slow them down in the journey of life. I really enjoyed that career path because it wasn’t limited to personal success. Since then, I’ve worked in several positions that allowed me to communicate directly with women and know more about their lives, goals and statuses. In fact, as a Manager of a female training center, Member of the National Female Executive Committee in the Chambers’ Council and as a Human Resources Consultant, I was keen to share my professional experience with every woman I met in order to help enrich her own work and personal life. I combined all my human resources training and used them in the actual training of women who showed real enthusiasm for learning or wanted some understanding and help while entering the world of business. Whenever I witness the success of one of the women I trained, I embrace it as my own. In my simple opinion, the thing that’s more important than success is to have taken the unshakably permanent decision to go for it and achieve it. In one of my training sessions, there was a woman who didn’t believe that training would really EHQH²W KHU EHFDXVH DFFRUGLQJ WR KHU VKH ZDV too old and missed the chance to start anything. She had decided to attend the training for the

sake of killing time. I know very well that the substance of social development lies in the young generation that represents the future, but I totally disagreed with her, and I still do, because as long as a human being has the will to make a decision, he/she can give and make a difference. I took this woman’s case as changing her point of view and making her believe in her capabilities was quite a challenge. After spending a lot of time with her, she ²QDOO\ UHDOL]HG WKDW LW GLGQÂŞW PDWWHU ZKHQ VKH VWDUWHG DV ORQJ DV VKH ²QDOO\ WRRN WKH LQLWLDWLYH to achieve her dreams. I shared this example because I wanted to convey the essence of my own success, one that is based on the success of the women who come through my training and make up my society. Though I work hard to maintain VXFFHVV , ²QG it’s made easier when those around you contribute to it. That’s why, on this occasion, I can’t help but mention Al Rajhi Bank, which was a stable constant in my life, silently supporting all my endeavors. Its contribution wasn’t limited to the easy and fast Shariah compliant banking services and products WKDW PHHW RXU QHHGV DQG VOLGH ÂłXLGO\ LQWR RXU professional lives. The Bank motivated me to get more involved in social responsibility with its own permanent determination to get involved in civil campaigns and social responsibility programs that I call the Zakat of education. I, like Al Rajhi Bank, would like to think that the whole society is also looking out for it’s own future and therefore I invite all women to think outside the box since this will allow them to grab and create a lot of big opportunities for themselves and anyone surrounding them.
