Stimuli. I think that for anyone, especially if you’re a creative that like to develop an idea, stimuli are the basis of everything. They are like the food that feeds and supports you, but also like a good “tagliatella” (as a good Italian I can assure you) that allows you to enjoy eating. Stimuli were exactly what my team and I needed to continue to evolve, to develop our ideas and taking pleasure from what we love most: to tell through the images. We have been working on this project for years, exactly from the 10th issue of “Una vita 300”, of which this magazine takes over the baton. Three years passed since Carlo, Raffaella and I took this decision. We were looking for something that would give us new motivations: for 10 years the book was the stimulus that animated us, but, with the material we all took, it was necessary to produce something that was monthly and no longer annual. In short words 10, 11, 12 “books” in a year. That was the idea, that was the project, that was the new stimulus for us: to be able to use a larger amount of pictures. Hence the idea of the magazine, from here 300 that evolved into ML MAGAZINE. When you deeply care about something, you tend to be more critical. And that happened from the beginning with the choice

of the logo, perhaps the most difficult thing to create. The idea was to keep my initials - become the name of our agency - and trasform them in something for the future, but with roots in the past: from ML of Mirco Lazzari to ML of Motorsport and Life. It is a choice that allows us to “speak” through the photography about the world as a whole: we can tell about the Motorsport (our first passion) and also about the world we have the chance to travel and shoot everyday thanks to our work. This gives us emotions (the stimuli we were speaking before) because emotions in shooting and evolving are given not only from the races and traks, but go beyond. If you enjoy what you’re doing, if you’re happy in doing a job that isn’t work (or at least it’s not just work), you live with your camera. And you try, day after day, to fix on a file (like you did on the film before the digital era) your memories, the emotions you feel during that moment, your point of view of what you see. Which is also a challenge. Here we return to the stimuli of the begin. “A real journey is not looking for new lands, but having new eyes” (Marcel Proust). This

is our creed, our challenge: to always look for new and different images created by an evolution of our style while experiencing the same circuits for most of the world championship. Our evolution over the years was possible also thanks to the photos taken in

the world around us that allowed us, in a sort of elastic effect, both to consolidate our technique and experiment to evolve it. My master, Angelo Orsi, always insisted in never forget to bring a thing in work and in photography (and in the whole life - I would add): the curiosity. This is a quality that I can proudly see in the people that help me: a teaching given to me that I tried to transfer. From Mauro to Raffaella, Carlo, Filippo and Marco, supporters of that help that often allowed me not to worry about the classic photos and be able to try, grow and evolve with new ideas. I tried to teach them the importance of a different and curious point of view. A gift that need to be constantly stimulated in order not to decline in the obvious and the “already seen”. ML MAGAZINE born following this philosophy: to show those unpublished images, perhaps the too daring images. A way to make research and continue to have those stimuli that are the true propellant of our work and, above all, of our life. ⚫ MIRCO L AZZARI
