Profound Gratitude to our local Vets

Dr Rolando Quesada performed emergency surgery on our cat last week, saving his life.

It was a complicated surgery and took great skill and experience to diagnose and conduct the operation.

We have the highest praise and gratefulness to him, Taryn and the team that worked on our boy, and the aftercare, follow ups and medical knowledge that was shared, in addition to the critical overnight care provided by Waikato Animal Hospital.

We are aware that our local veterinary clinic is short staffed, and that the two current vets are working long hours to endeavour to keep our pets safe and well.

As we have a shortage of vets in NZ, could we please ask that anyone with relevant networks reach out to encourage vets to relocate into our amazing community to provide further support and hopefully reinstate overnight care/on call if possible.

Again, thank you Rachael & Cheryl

Tainui Games entrants set to carve up Manu Bay

Manu Bay will be awash this weekend with 100-odd surfers from 68 marae competing in the biennial Waikato Tainui Games, which date back to Kawhia in the mid 1990s.

Local kaumatua are set to perform a karakia early on Saturday morning ahead of the first of the heats in the two-day competition, which is dubbed the Marae Battle in the Moana.

“Waves are on the cards,” surfing cocoordinator Harley Muru told the Chronicle earlier this week.

But he’s not bargaining on perfect conditions. “Often just before the competition we’re left with little dribbly waves,” he reckons. “But it’s such a fun event and gets everyone out.”

Harley remembers his grandfather opening the first of the Tainui Games with a karakia. Gad Muru was in his late 70s at the time, says Harley, “and we had to walk

Back then surfing wasn’t included in the competition, which pits one marae against another and is now held on two consecutive weekends over three regional locations –Raglan, Ngaruawahia and Hopuhopu.

The Tainui Games started off in Kawhia with sports like touch, netball and basketball before moving further north to Hopuhopu after a five-year hiatus, Harley recounts.

Then he and cousin Arna Rose Solomon-Banks – who both herald from Turangawaewae marae in Ngaruawahia –wondered about adding surfing to the mix, and were told “if you can run it you can do it”. So they did.

While Harley admits the surfing side of things had humble beginnings, Arna adds it was a big learning curve all round. But with backing from local businesses and the support of Raglan Point Boardriders they got through to where they are today, 10 years on.

who take on multiple roles like judging, cooking and emceeing.

A big water-slide will be set up on the hill overlooking the bay, as in past years, and there’ll be a half-hour session for newbies

– kids, grandmas, aunties and uncles – to give surfing a go.

Harley has a chuckle at what they call the kiddie corner session. “Grannies floundering along … negotiating the rocks,” he laughs. It’s all in good spirits.

Whaingaroa’s weekend-long surf comp coincides on the Sunday with waka ama racing on the river at Turangawaewae marae along with other sports or games like chess, indoor bowls, golf and tennis.

The following weekend sees the main court games like basketball, volleyball, netball and table tennis – along with touch rugby – played at Hopuhopu Sports Centre, which has the infrastructure to cater for the thousands of Tainui competitors expected to take part.

Centre of excellence for Raglan’s zero waste warriors

Aleader in New Zealand’s war on waste is further upping its game with a centre of excellence partly funded by the Glass Packaging Forum (GPF).

Xtreme Zero Waste in Raglan has developed a Centre of Excellence modelling zero waste sector best practice infrastructure and innovation. Managing Director Stephen van Wonderen says it will not only improve their already impressive waste diversion rate, but offer training and mentoring to others wanting to establish zero waste programmes.

“The Centre will offer the Zero Waste Network national certification training courses, mentoring of community groups and cater for groups taking formal tours of Xtreme's Centre, which has had some 27,000 visitors to date,” Steve says.

The GPF’s grant of $25,000 was used for equipment which reduces the manual handling of glass, an example of best practice for ensuring high-quality colour sorting of glass. Glass must be colour sorted before it can be recycled in Auckland.

“The grant allowed a much-needed upgrade of our 21-year-old manual system, which required complete replacement to be effective. Other than making the system more efficient, it’s also improved health and safety for our team,” Steve says.

Additional funding for the Centre has come from the Ministry for the Environment for a new processing building, bailer, and plastics processing equipment.

The project is also about future proofing, Steve says, with Raglan’s population set to increase. Seasonal fluctuations are also large,

with the town growing from 5,000 to 25,000 over summer.

“We have grown from 95 tonnes of glass in 2000 to 427 tonnes in 2021. There is currently a subdivision of a further 500 houses and another proposed for 300 houses, so that tonnage will only continue to increase.”

Glass Packaging Forum Scheme Manager Dominic Salmon says he’s eager to see the Centre for Excellence in operation. “One of the GPF’s core objectives is promoting industry best practice for glass recovery and recycling so it’s great to have leaders like Xtreme Zero Waste doing the same,” he says

About the Glass Packaging Forum:

Established in 2006, the Glass Packaging Forum (GPF) is part of The Packaging Forum which is dedicated to developing product stewardship across packaging materials and

the packaging supply chain. The GPF meets its objectives through the management of its independent, accredited product stewardship scheme.

A primary function of the GPF is to ensure that as much waste container glass (bottles and jars) as possible is diverted from landfill. This is done through the provision of infrastructure to improve glass recovery and facilitate glass recycling and through research of alternative uses for waste glass. These activities are supported by a comprehensive consumer awareness programme.

The GPF is funded through its membership which pay a voluntary levy related directly to the volume of glass each sells into the New Zealand market place. .

Mokolife tells of the moko kauae revival

Thecontributions of artist Joni Brooking to the revival of moko kauae is the subject of local author Tracey Cooper’s fist book Mokolife.

The pair became friends during their He Waka Hiringa - Master of Applied Indigenous Knowledge studies at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. It was a match made in heaven; he needed a to write something for his community project and she wanted to tell the story of her journey with moko kauae.

That story has been brought to life following many hours of connection and conversation, establishing a lifelong friendship, and made Tracey realise how much joy he found in helping someone to achieve their own goal.

“I realised over the course of the masters that I get a lot of enjoyment from helping

others achieve their goals, and even more so when doing that helps me to achieve my own goals.”

A former Waikato Times journalist, Tracey travelled to and from Te Tairawhiti, where Joni is based at Te Araroa, and over the course of two years attend mokopapa (wānanga which focus solely on facial moko) and undertook numerous interviews with some of the wāhine who had received their moko kauae from Joni, along with other leaders in the revival of moko kauae, particularly throughout Ngāti Porou and Te Whānau-a-Apanui.

The book tells the story of Joni’s beginnings as a ta moko artist, with mentors such as tohunga moko Mark Kopua and Sir Derek Lardelli, and the strong whānau foundations which help guide her in her practice.

“Joni is an amazing woman and it’s been an absolute privilege to spend so much time with her and her whānau, and to tell her story. She is driven by a deep desire to normalise moko kauae throughout Aotearoa and to educate people about this beautiful artform.”

As well as demystifying some of the myths around who is worthy of wearing the distinctive chin markings, the book also delves into the mythological beginnings of the artform and challenges many of the misconceptions around moko kauae.

But, more importantly, it is about the women who share what it means to wear the moko kauae; from the sense of empowerment it provides to the cleansing of trauma, and the reasons they came to have this significant and permanent traditional marking on their chin.

“While many of the wāhine I interviewed came to the decision to receive their kauae for different reasons, every single one of them talked about the self-confidence it gave them and the pride they had in wearing the markings of their tūpuna.”

While there is still an undertow of racism and ignorance that has impacted some of the women, none have regretted receiving the moko kauae.

“I love seeing wāhine wearing their kauae with pride. Seeing kauae is becoming more commonplace around the Waikato, but in Te Tairawhiti, it’s almost the norm for wāhine to receive their kauae, and many are doing it at a much younger age. They grow up seeing their mothers, sisters, aunties wearing kauae, and it becomes and entirely normal thing to do, as it should be.”

Mokolife was launched in Gisborne late last year and several hundred copies have been sold so far. It can be purchased for $50 from the i-Hub or email traceyrcooper@ gmail.com.

‘Marathon’ 10-day search for dogs finally rewarded

Okete mum Chantal Widmer

reckons she walked a “marathon” in her gumboots over the 10 days she spent scouring the valleys of surrounding farmland this month for her young family’s two lost dogs.

But while seemingly the whole neighbourhood also turned out to help search for the mother-and-daughter pair of terrier/ spaniel crossbreeds – and huge support poured in online from the Raglan community – Chantal believes it was getting in touch with a professional dog tracker that proved the game changer.

With the benefit of his regular long-distance advice there was a Bo Peep-like ending to the drama when, ironically on Friday the 13th, the much-loved pets quietly returned by themselves to their Hauroto Bay Rd home.

The pair – nine-year-old Pipi and her two year old daughter Lion – were covered in mud and ticks, skinny and exhausted, with one also suffering a badly infected eye.

“I cried, a lot … everybody was crying,” Chantal confesses.

While it was the best of outcomes, the saga itself became for Chantal one of “incredible connection” to the community.

Not only did an online plea for help in locating the dogs get huge support, with

hundreds of comments and emojis posted, but her whole Okete neighbourhood also got in behind the search. “I met all my neighbours … they are the most beautiful people,” says the mother of three.

Despite widespread searching for several days, however, there were still no clues and no sightings. Chantal even enlisted the aid of clairvoyants who indicated the cliffs and quarry nearby as possible places the canines could be, suggesting too that the earthquake on the night of their disappearance could’ve played a part.

She herself thought that maybe Pipi was trapped somewhere and Lion was with her, crying. “We know that if they could come home they would,” she posted on Facebook, offering a $1000 reward for information leading to their recovery.

In desperation Chantal also got in touch with Nelson-based dog searcher Don Schwass. Once if not twice a day the two had a phone conversation, exchanging umpteen messages in-between.

“Don told us we had to find a way to search more successfully,” Chantal recounts. “The way we were doing it was like looking for a needle in a haystack … we were wearing ourselves out.”

Dogs commonly travel into the wind, he revealed, so in this particular case they had to look east and not west to the quarry or the Okete waterhole. He also recommended family members only search twice a day from six till nine each morning and evening. The dogs would be lying low, resting, during the day.

Chantal says Don believed the pair had wandered too far, become disoriented and reverted to their wild state. He was also

concerned a posse of searchers could further drive them underground.

He advised leaving long scent trails and scent cones by walking and sitting for a time in particular valleys, according to the daily direction of the winds, in the hope the dogs might chance upon the familiar smells and find their way home.

“We did what he said,” Chantal recounts. “I walked a marathon in my gumboots … there were so many valleys!”

Often she had her children – Wai Ariki, Pounamu and Anatipa – in tow, plus Pipi’s and Lion’s canine sisters, Milly and Tiger. Her nine-year-old son Anatipa insisted on walking barefoot despite the prickles, convinced his bare skin would leave a better scent.

By day nine, Chantal admits, she was becoming disheartened. They’d searched by foot, horseback and 4WD buggy and had all the neighbouring farmers looking out.

In consultation with Don, who was also monitoring the weather patterns, she knew she had to search one last valley further south. On Friday January 13 “I walked as far as I could until the river forked and sat for an hour, willing the dogs to smell me”.

That afternoon her 12-year-old niece Grace Karsten, who lives on the adjoining property, noticed the dogs quietly curled up together just outside the shed, and alerted the entire family.

Chantal is convinced the dogs in the end simply “followed our scent and came back”.

*While not every story has a happy ending, Don has managed to find three quarters of the missing dogs he’s tracked over 20 years.

Malone claims under 18 title at Surfing Nationals

from Surfing New Zealand

Piha’s Dune Kennings and Whangamata’s Piha Rogers claimed their maiden titles at the 2023 National Surfing Championships completed at Piha Beach, Auckland on Saturday 14th January and Raglan's Navryn Malone took out the Under 18 Boys Division.

In a spectacular display of surfing in perfect 1.5m waves, Kennings rode to a near perfect 19.25 point heat total to win the final.

16-year-old Rogers also put on a dominant display of surfing, riding to a 15.65 point heat total to win her final.

Kennings becomes the first son of a previous title winner to join the illustrious list of New Zealand champions behind his father Lynden who won back-to-back titles in 1990 and 1991.

Eight time national champion Billy Stairmand (Rag) held the lead for part of the final with a 17.85 heat total until the patient Kennings found a late ride and completed three big turns to score a near-perfect 9.90.

In the Under 18 Boys Division, a perfect 10-point ride sealed the title for Navryn

Malone (Rag). The final was another close one with Malone’s 17.70 besting Kalani Louis on 17.15. Whakatane surfer Tai Murphy finished third on 15.10 and Tao Mouldey (Mnt) finished fourth on 13.35.

Dunedin’s Alexis Owen claimed the title in the Under 16 Boys Division with Alani Morse (Rag) claiming the girls division courtesy of an amazing 9.0 point ride to open her heat.

Piha youngster Kyra Wallis claimed the Under 14 Girls Division with Vitor Kokemper (Mnt) winning the boys division.

Over in the Senior Women's Divisions, Raglan’s Kiri Binnersley took out the winning title. Men’s Senior titles went to Taranaki’s Jarred Hancox (Over 30s), Mount Maunganui’s Matt Scorringe (Over 35s), Taranaki’s Kane Rowson (40s), Auckland’s Andrew Robinson (Over 45s), Mount Maunganui’s Darren Kiwi (Over 50s) and Raglan’s Rick Lasch (Over 55s).

The 2023 National Surfing Championships commences the domestic NZ Surf Series, NZ Grom Series and NZ Longboard Series with fifteen events scheduled around the country this summer.

Careful Asset Planning Needed for Blended Families

Blended families are becoming increasingly common and careful planning is required to reduce the risk of challenges to your estate on your death.

Whilst you may be happy to provide for your partner in the event of your death you may wish for your assets to then pass to your partner’s children if you have children of your own.

The Problem

There are a number of ways in which your property or your family trust’s property can be lost.

One tool people use is to keep income and assets separate, but this can be disregarded under the law when a triggering event occurs such as a separation, death, or one partner moving into residential care.

Your Will can make your intentions clear, but on your death, your surviving partner may choose to claim their entitlement under relationship property law. Your children may also choose to challenge your Will.

While Trusts are a very useful asset planning vehicle, in many situations Trust assets can become available for division by the Court in the event of a separation.

Risk also arises from the way couples own their property. If you own property jointly with your partner rather than in shares, on your death your interest in the property passes directly to your partner by survivorship.

The Solution

Carefully considered and formally recorded relationship property

agreements can provide mutually agreed outcomes in the event of separation or when you die.

Life interest Wills can protect a partner from being forced to leave the relationship home during their lifetime while, at the same time, protecting your interest for your children.

If done right, Trusts can also be a very useful tool for preserving assets. Careful drafting of the Trust Deed is essential. It is important to note however that arrangements made a short period before a relationship or marriage starts are still at risk. The gold standard is to ensure you have a relationship property agreement.

Where you own property as a joint tenant, you can sever the joint tenancy, and separate your interest in the property.

Mutual Wills can be an option for some couples. A mutual Will includes a binding mutual promise that records your intention not to revoke or change your Wills during your lifetimes and after the other’s death.

Doing nothing is unwise. The cost and upset caused by a family dispute arising on separation or death can often be avoided or minimised by taking proper legal advice at the right time –sooner rather than later.

At DTI Lawyers, we have a team of lawyers with experience in this area who are happy to help. For assistance with your asset planning, contact Hayley Willers who is available to see clients in Raglan on Wednesday afternoons.

Spore counting has started!

Surf Life Saving Northern Region call for people to swim at lifeguarded beaches during the patrol hours

from Surfing Life Saving Northern Region New Zealand

Facialeczema is a liver disease that affects farm animals mostly sheep and cattle between January and May, and right now the disease is starting to kick off. Facial eczema is like having severe sun burn but as well as having a damaged liver.

Animals are susceptible to this disease when they eat pasture containing a fungal spore that produces a toxin called sporidesmin. The spores mostly reside in dead matter at the base of grass. Therefore, it’s best to not leave stock on pasture for too long so they can’t graze right down to the ground.

Affected animals present with secondary skin lesions on their body and/or ears and face. Other symptoms include ill thrift in young stock, weight loss and seeking shade from the sun. Facial eczema is very painful and can be fatal if not prevented in time.

Once liver damage is detected there is no treatment; medication can be given to make the animal feel more comfortable. Prevention of facial eczema is the best strategy.

The main preventative farmers use is by supplementing with zinc, usually in the form of an intra-ruminal zinc capsule/ bolus. The zinc bolus is administered with a special applicator and will last for 6 weeks from the first treatment. Other preventions include grazing on safe pasture/ crops, breeding for resistance and also frequently monitoring the number of spores in the pasture.

Anexa Vets annually monitors spore counts from several farms each week for 3-4 months. Farmers collect about a bread bag full of grass from multiple areas from the same paddock. These grass samples are then tested in clinic or sent to the laboratory. Results climbing up from 30,000 is a good indication to consider zinc bolusing.

If you’re worried about facial eczema in your stock, ring the vet clinic on 07 825 8390 to discuss this disease with our vets.

Surf Life Saving Northern Region are calling for people to swim between the flags and at lifeguarded beaches during patrol hours after five drowning fatalities ocured in three days in the Auckland region. Surf Life Saving Northern Region says its heart goes out to the families of five drowning fatalities that occurred last week.

Two people drowned at unpatrolled beaches on Friday, one at Narrow Neck Beach on Auckland’s North Shore, and another at Big Manly Beach on the Whangaparāoa peninsula.

On Saturday, one person died at Takapuna, while two people died at North Piha despite United North Piha lifeguards’ attempts to rescue them after patrol had ended for the day.

Surf Life Saving Northern Region (SLSNR) Chief Executive Matt Williams extended the thoughts and condolences of the organisation to the victims’ families.

“The return of the pleasant summer weather has seen people flocking back to our beaches. Our lifeguards across the region have already performed a total of 43 rescues, 11 assists, and four major first aids already this weekend

“It’s really tough for our lifeguards when they are involved in in an unsuccessful rescue attempt – every death is one we take personally. Our guards take every possible step to ensure our patrolled beaches are safe.”

Matt Williams urged the public to swim at lifeguarded beaches, during the patrol hours.

“One of the core messages for this summer is ‘if in doubt, don’t go out’,” he says.

“The conditions around our northern coastlines change quickly. Even a change in tide can result in dangerous currents. While lifeguards make every effort to remain vigilant and keep our coastlines safe, we urge the public to keep themselves and others safe by swimming at a lifeguarded beach, during the patrol hours.”

2023 Season Beach Safety Messages from Surf Lifesaving Northern Region:

• Choose a surf lifeguard patrolled beach and swim between the flags

• Read and understand the safety signs – ask a surf lifeguard for advice as conditions can change regularly

• Don’t overestimate your ability or your children’s ability to cope in the conditions

• Always keep a close eye on very young children in or near the water – always keep them within arm’s reach

• Get a friend to swim with you – never swim or surf alone

• Watch out for rip currents, they can carry you away from shore. If caught in a rip current remember the 3Rs: *Relax and float, *Raise your hand and *Ride the rip

• Be smart around rocks: When fishing never turn your back towards the sea and always wear a lifejacket

• If in doubt, stay out!

• If you see someone in trouble, call 111 and ask for the Police

• Be sun smart – slip, slop, slap and wrap to protect your skin and eyes from the sun’s damaging rays.

NowI admit I may be living in a muddy bubble, but it seems like everyone and their dog are getting into the pottery vibe!

To acknowledge this and the frankly fabulous work coming out of the Raglan Clay Shed at the moment…(not to mention all the goodness from our established local potters and clay artists and those in the wider Waikato region too) we’re hosting the first ever Best West Clay Fest!

Held out the back at the Old School, this family fun day is all about celebrating local talent, sharing just what is so good about clay with newbies and having some creative fun with the community.

Running all day long, we’ve also got a line-up of local superstars selling their work in the ceramics market (upstairs in the new theatre room above the clay shed).

• Feat: Alice Edge, Aysh Geros, Hannah Fasenkloet, Bay Belle, Merren Goodison, Mr Potter, Bing Ceramics, Holly Cahill, Kimba Allison

• A free community art project with a big pile of clay for everyone to get stuck in - combining to sculpt your take on “what makes home, home” out of local mud.

• A display of the process clay goes through to become the finished bowl you eat your brekkie in.

• Pottery wheel and hand-building demonstrations.

• Paint your own pottery.

• Clay-lympics which is open to anyone to compete in. Win yourself a prized handmade ceramic trophy! Events: pull the longest handle, throw the tallest cylinder, throw the most of your chosen shape off the hump. And of course, food, fresh juices, dizzy blocks and tunes all nestled in the grass out the back of the Raglan Kindergarten.

Can’t wait to see you there! clayfest.co.nz | #bestwestclayfest

KIA ORA FROM KĀHU'S NEST...

We receive an incredible volume of donations and we are so grateful for yours too. Your donations help to keep items out of landfill, in reuse circulating round in the community, and you're supporting our local employment kaupapa.

We welcome new Shop Manager & Team Leader: Ciane Lawrey who has loads of creative ideas and passion for upcycling & reuse. She launched into her time with us with a big rummage sale: Fill a bag for $5 last week. "Back to school" specials coming up soon, and this weekend:

Join us for a fun morning at Ruapuke beach! Return transport, coffee and lunch provided!

The Ruapuke coastline is unfortunately a collection point for human made debris, and the ocean currents shift the rubbish to particular spots where they break down into tiny fragments after exposure to the elements.

WEC (Wh ā ingaroa Environment Centre), in collaboration with Raglan Shuttle, Coastcare Waikato, Morning Glory Organic Coffee, Top Cut Butchery, Raglan Lions Club and Community Waikato invite you, our community, to join us in a beach clean at Ruapuke. Visitors to town are welcome. Also joining us are the Ruapuke Coastcare Group who have been restoring and protecting Ruapuke’s coastline for over 15 years. During this beach clean we will be using sifters to separate as much of the small fragmented plastic fro m the sand as possible, we will be collecting larger pieces along the beach and also collecting data on what we are finding as we go. Collecting data about what trash we are collecting influences decisions about our public spaces, drinking water, and environment. Think of the beach as a bridge between the land and marine environment. It’s a critical biodiversity area. Cleaning our beaches is a step towar ds cleaning our oceans. Bring the whole family and your friends to appreciate this beautiful and spacious beach while contributing to taking care of it. We will supply you with a caffeinated start to the adventure, return transport and a BBQ lunch to finish. Pre-event registrations are required for Shuttle and/lunch catering. *If you don’t require transport from Raglan, you will find us at the Ruapuke So uthern carpark at 9:30am. More information and registrations for the shuttle and/or lunch can be made here:

Soundsplash 2023 in pictures

Soundsplash returned to Raglan over the weekend bringing the annual summer festival back to the beach at Wainui Reserve.

While some initial hiccups caused delays on Friday, once inside, festivalgoers appeared to be having a great time.

"The rest of the festival was run so well. There were sunblock stations, well-being tents, plenty of water stations and lovely caring wardens who were very switched on when it came to checking in. It’s a shame that the media only pick up on the negative side of everything!" Said attendant Lisa Horobin on her experience at the festival.

Soundsplash organisers would like to put out a huge thank you to all the crew, volunteers and community members that contributed to the event and would like to acknowledge the awesome effort and time that was put into making sure that festival attendees had a great experience at Soundsplash.

MY BABY Raglan show

Ty Segall & Freedom Band

Off the back opf their Soundsplash set, Amsterdam based Dutch-New Zealand trio MY BABY have announced a Raglan show this upcoming weekend. Renowned for their energetic live act combining roots and rock driven alternative dance, MY BABY brings out the psychedelic side in all of us and promise to bring the party down under for their sixth tour of New Zealand shores.

Since 2012, MY BABY have been spreading their blues-trance rave to the approval of audiences worldwide including festivals such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Sziget, Lowlands, and Pinkpop. Their set up is unique mixing the rawness of punk and rock, the warm sound of roots and blues with a touch of EDM and big beat.

MY BABY New Zealand Tour, Sun Jan 29th, 2023, The Yot Club, Raglan.

California’s cult guitar hero Ty Segall is headed our way at long last! The prolific psych rocker is bringing his supersonic sound machine to Aotearoa this summer, accompanied by the all-star Freedom Band: Mikal Cronin (bass), Charles Moothart (drums), Emmett Kelly (guitar), and Ben Boye (keys).

With at least thirteen solo albums under his belt to date, not to mention EPs, singles, and side projects, Ty Segall will release new album Hello, Hi on July 22nd. Lead single and title track Hello, Hi, is a fresh-spun earworm singing the delicate brutality of introversion. Metal alchemising bubblegum

the old-fashioned way: guitar licks haloed by a daisy chain of melody. This album follows the surprise release of Harmonizer, Segall’s first new solo album in two years. Normally infamous for his smokin' hot guitar shredding, Segall dug out the synths for Harmonizer, finding groovy spaces to hang between fuzzy garage punk / glam rock mania and retro-futuristic electronic pulse action — recorded aptly enough at his new Harmonizer Studios. Live, fans can expect tunes from across Segall’s considerable catalogue - Ty is known to dig deep.

Make your move

With the owners moving overseas, this section presents an opportunity to secure a great section at an affordable price for you to then build your dream home upon. The section doesn't require much excavation or retaining in comparison to some, is high on a hill, yet is somewhat sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds. There are some rural views and with many of the surrounding sections now complete with new homes it is easier to see how your new home might fit this situation. The section size is 415m2. There has been a geotechnical report done on the site in preparation for a transportable home.
