There is a definite four-season climate, but the area is semi-arid, with total precipitation of 10.67 inches per year and snowfall of 8 inches, on average. Summer temperatures in July average 86 degrees with comfortable, cool nights. The winter temperatures average around 41 degrees, with the coldest month being January. With 300± days of sunshine a year, Madras and the surrounding areas have a very comfortable climate.
