79’S MISS 72/22

Offered by 79 Cattle Co.

ABBA # 1059089 Born: 03/16/2022

This sale is lotted simply in ABC order, but if we had to start the sale with the nicest family in the Brahman breed, it would probably be the folks at 79 Cattle Co. Sired by their herd bull Mr. V8 179/8, who’s a Noble son out of the 2005 National Champion female. The dam, Miss V8 895/8 is an “R” branded direct daughter of Miss V8 103/8, one of our top 5 donors at BRC. This dark pigmented female is very long bodied, up-headed, and will make an outstanding replacement female. She ranks in the top 3% of the breed for YW, top 4% for docility, top 2% for carcass weight, and has a very low actual birth weight of 77 pounds.

THE BRCConnection

Lot 1 is out of Miss V8 895/8. She is one of the foundation females that the 79 ranch family selected to start their Brahman herd. Out of our Miss V8 103/8 cow, it makes her a half sister to BRC Me Again Margaret 254 and BRC Money Don’t Jiggle 240.

MS. BONCHASSE 680/2 (P)

Offered by Bonchasse Land & Cattle Co.

Ms. Bonchasse 680/2 is a polled female backed by two of the stronger cow families of the BRC program: 510/6 and Emily 477/4. Miss V8 510/6, who recently died at age 18, with a great production record, and one of the best udders on the ranch, even up til death. She is the dam of herd bulls 794, 279, and the grand dam of Noble. She is the reason these sire lines carry so much strong maternal power. On the bottom side, 680/2 stems from the JDH Emily Manso 477/4 cow, an Elmo daughter who’s the dam of the popular 620/8 polled AI sire. Neat breeding on a very high quality cow prospect. A female who could breed red or grey. Actual birth weight of 68 pounds, adjusted weaning weight of 569 pounds.

An outstanding Dutton daughter out of one of our favorite Garrett Farms cows, 424/2. We love the body depth, fleshing ability of both of these really functional cow prospects. The combination of BRC bulls with Garrett females have been one of the foundations of what “the Modern Brahman” represents. They’ve got the style and look from BRC, and the decades of proven real world performance, maternal traits, and moderation from the Garrett program. These females, bred by Garrett Cattle, are branded BRC since they are part of our partnership with Dutton and our cooperator program. Actual BW: 78 pounds. Adjusted WW: 507 pounds.

A tremendous legacy of friendship exists between the Cutrer family and the Harvey family - going all the way back to Jacko and Nancy Garrett’s longstanding friendship with Sloan Williams. We are proud to be partners on Dutton together.

ABBA # 1055975

Born: March 27, 2022

In order to be successful in beef production, producers who do any type of retained ownership must be able to consistently produce cattle that grade 70% Choice or higher. The Brahman breed has a long way to go, but these females from Triple Creek Ranch can be a foundation to help you get there. These females are double-bred Karu, one of the highest marbling bulls of the breed. If you want to join the progressive minded breeders who are focusing on improving marbling, these three females can do that for you in one generation. Actual BW: 76 pounds. Adjusted WW: 552 pounds. Ranks in the top 15% or higher for WW, YW, milk, TM, SC, tenderness, CW and REA.

T/C CAROLINE 35/2

Offered by Triple Creek Ranch

ABBA # 1055976 Born: April 6, 2022

T/C Caroline 35/2 is the third offering from Triple Creek Ranch and we see her as the thickest of the three heifers with the most natural muscling. All three of these females are some of the highest marbling females of the entire sale. The Smith family has put a real emphasis on carcass quality and trying to improve marbling. BRC and Kallion Farms are two of the most carcass-oriented programs of the breed and so combining those two - along with being double bred Karu - give you the added confidence of performance and carcass quality. Actual BW: 77 pounds. Adjusted WW: 602 pounds. Ranks in the top 10% or better for WW, YW, TM, SC, tenderness, CW and REA.

THE BRCConnection

Caroline is sired by the low birth weight BRC AI sire: BRC Peanut 641/8. Peanut also stems from the Karu bloodline which is known for high marbling.

MISS M2 809/1

Offered by Wichita Ranch

Since Wichita Ranch starts with a W, and we did the sale order in ABC order, these four heifers sorted to the end of the sale offering, but we think that works out pretty nicely because you can end off the sale with a BANG. The Martin family did not hold back when they brought us this pair of sisters by Captain and an Elmo daughter they have been flushing extensively. The dam of this female is also the dam of the M2 643/1 bull that Herzog Cattle Company purchased from Wichita and is already siring champions! These females from the M2 program are some of the strongest cow prospects in the entire offering. Actual BW: 70 pounds.

MISS M2 837/1

Offered by Wichita Ranch

M2 809/1 and 837/1 are full sisters and equally impressive. Truthfully, they came out of Steve and Nancy’s keeper pen. When we talked to the Martin’s about this sale, they said of course they’d be part of it. Rachel and Steve drove through the pasture behind the Martin’s house, and Steve let us pick two of their keeper heifers. This female really blows you away in terms of her body capacity, thickness, gentle disposition, and bone. This is one of those females you’d love to have right up behind your house and be able to see every day. Well, that’s kinda exactly where Steve had her lol! She’s so all-around good, it just makes you proud to be a Brahman breeder. Drive out amongst a herd of twenty or so females like this right before dinner every night, and it sure makes you thankful to be living this wonderful life we live, and to be involved in a breed of cattle like Brahman. Actual BW: 72 pounds.

All of the Captain x 844s look identical - that dark pigmented, super flashy look and lots of muscle with a great disposition. What more can you ask for!

BRC COCO CHANEL 339

Offered by Wichita Ranch

This Captain daughter from Wichita Ranch is out of their 840/7 donor who is a full sister to their 844/7 cow who was the 2015 International Champion. Big, broody, dark pigmented, and moderate framed. She’s also halter broke and very, very gentle!
