If you like expressing your creativity through hair and nails, consider our Cosmetology program. You’ll get hands-on beauty experience in a salon environment operated by RCC and open to the public. Your course work will include instruction in all phases of professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skincare, nail care, multicultural practices, business/computer principles, product knowledge and other selected topics.
NOTE: Students must obtain a grade of "C" or better in all COS courses to be able to process to the next level. If a student does not earn a "C" or better in COS courses, he/she must repeat the course to earn the minimal "C" before enrolling in the higher level course.
CCP Entry Point = Senior Year.
COS 115 and 116 will be scheduled to allow high school students to transition to the day program to finish a certificate, diploma or degree. Begin new cohort each fall.
Students completing the certificate (1200 hours) are eligible to sit for the examination for an apprentice license which requires students to work under a licensed cosmetologist for a minimum of 6 months and 1040 hours after graduation before receiving full licensure status.

You will learn to be a master welder in our impressive, on-campus facility at our Archdale Center. The program includes instruction on consumable and non-consumable electrode welding and cutting processes. You will be provided with industry-standard skills developed through classroom training and practical application. Courses include print reading, metallurgy, welding inspection, and destructive and non-destructive testing.

Zoological Horticulture Certificate [ClSl00HH]
From developing sustainable supply-chain solutions to modernizing farming practices and techniques, agribusiness technology offers many opportunities in a rapidly growing and vitally important field. In our Agribusiness Technology program, you’ll develop the entrepreneurial and technical skills to manage a profitable, environmentally sound, community-based small farm or agricultural business in classes that focus on science and technology.
After you’ve finished, you’ll be prepared to pursue jobs in equipment, feed, and agricultural supply sales; store management; farm operations; wholesale and retail produce management; nursery operations; and environmental and agricultural education. And if working at a zoo is something that interests you, our special Zoological Horticulture Certificate program partners with the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro to give you hands-on experience designing and caring for the plant environments at zoos and within animal habitats. Note: Student must have a 2.8 unweighted GPA.
