//REMEMBRANCE DAY
Remembering 1
00 years ago today Britain was at war in a conflict that was to the claim the lives of millions of men and women. Today, we will remember those who fought for our freedom, not just in World War One but in all conflicts since. Rangers Football Club will mark Remembrance Day at Ibrox with a minute silence in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Earlier today, veterans as well as representatives from each of the services, Erskine, Poppyscotland and Rangers FC attended a wreath laying ceremony at the John Greig statue at Ibrox to mark the anniversary of the Armistice. Representatives from each of the services have been invited to Ibrox today and we are pleased to welcome veterans and serving personnel to the stands and to the Directors Box, including Lt Cdr Gary Farmer, Lt Col Rhidian Jones, Flt Lt Ally Park, Cpl Steve Kinnaird, General Council Member for Erskine Campbell Ogilvie, Gary Gray from Poppyscotland, Erskine veteran Ian Scott and Rangers Charity Foundation Trustee Colin Kirkwood. Two veterans will lead the teams
out prior to kick-off and two sailors, soldiers and airmen will carry a poppy to the centre spot for the minute silence. Soldiers from 207 (City of Glasgow) Battery, part of 105 Regiment Royal Artillery, will fire an L118 light gun to mark the start and end of the minute silence so please be prepared for the noise! The Rangers Charity Foundation is hosting a can collection this afternoon in aid of Poppyscotland, which supports exServicemen and women and their families. As always, the Rangers fans are sure to give generously to this collection, which will help veterans in Scotland receive the care and support they urgently need. Poppyscotland provides life-changing assistance to Scotland’s ex-Servicemen and women, funding specialist services such as long-term care, housing, employment and post-traumatic stress counselling as well as providing financial assistance to veterans where necessary. The team will also wear special commemorative poppy shirts today in honour of our fallen heroes and the majority of these will be donated to services related charities to raise further funds for serving personnel and veterans.

What’s the biggest difference you have found between Mark Warburton and other managers you have worked under? (Robert William Gibson, Facebook) NO: “Mark gives me more freedom to express myself higher up the pitch whereas other managers wanted me to be less of me, with less flair. Mark still wants me to shoot and cross but he allows me to be free and express myself in the right areas.” Would you ever consider staying at Rangers or coming back in the future once your loan has ended? (@ST12HD, Twitter) NO: “It all depends what happens when I go back to my parent club and if it’s a possibility to come back on loan then yeah, why not.” Have you tried Haggis yet, Nathan? (oh@esta_x , Twitter) NO: “No, I don’t know what it is! I wouldn’t mind trying it but I had never heard of it before.” Who did you look up to when you were younger? Who is or was your footballing idol? (@gordoncarslaw , Twitter) NO: “Ronaldinho, full stop. He just made me smile every time I watched him on the TV and he played with a smile as well. He just showed me how playing football allows you to express yourself and you just have the freedom to do what you want with the ball at your feet on the pitch.”

ATHAN ODUWA has played a key role in Rangers’ positive start to the 2015/16 season and at just 19 there is a lot more to come from the hugely talented England Under-20 star. The on-loan Spurs playmaker has had Scottish defences in a spin with his pace and trickery but just how would he cope answering a range of questions from you, the fans, via social media for today’s programme?

10. TREVOR STEVEN v Dundee United Premier Division – 21/04/1990 TANNADICE has so often been the stage for Rangers to clinch a league title, and season 1989/90 ended in such a manner thanks to Trevor Steven’s head. Stuart Munro picked the ball up out on the left before sending the ball directly onto the
16
head of Steven who was lurking eight yards from goal. He guided the ball terrifically past the goalkeeper to put Rangers into the lead and secure the second of the Ibrox club’s run of nine titles in a row.
