ON TORAL’S two-month spell at Rangers has been eventful to say the least. Working under no less than three managers, being injured twice and seeing results fluctuate wildly, his time on loan here from Arsenal has thrown everything at him. The thing is though; he’s loving

life in Glasgow. The expectation and pressures that come with being a player here matches what he wants to become used to as a first-team regular at the Emirates Stadium, while he feels the style of football being played in Scotland is close to what he was used to in previous loan periods with Birmingham City and Brentford.

ON THE SPOT THIS SEASON WE HAVE ASKED FANS TO SEND IN A RANGE OF QUESTIONS FOR RANGERS PLAYERS VIA EMAIL AND SOCIAL MEDIA AND PUBLISHED THE ANSWERS IN THE 2016/17 MATCHDAY PROGRAMMES. answering your questions today is 9iar legend john brown.

WHO WAS THE BEST PLAYER YOU PLAYED WITH? (@RaymondMcLaren0, Twitter) Richard Gough. He was there for Nine in a Row, he was the captain, played 80 games more than anyone else and was just a fantastic footballer. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE OLD FIRM GAME YOU PLAYED IN? (@alwaysrangers1, Twitter) My first one at Ibrox which was the 5-1 game when Ray Wilkins scored that volley.

RAY WILKINS CELEBRATES AFTER HIS STUNNING VOLLEY

WHO DID YOU TAKE MOST PLEASURE IN ‘TACKLING’ ON THE PITCH? (@IamtheLaw_rie. Twitter) Peter Grant, I think every Rangers fan would have loved a kick at Peter and I got the pleasure of doing that! WHICH PLAYER DO YOU THINK SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME THAT ISN’T? (@scottygemmell, Twitter) Gary Stevens. He was a fantastic right-back who spent six seasons here, won six titles, Scottish Cups and League Cups and was an England international. He really was a top level player.

20 years on - the key men Andy dibble

Words: Lindsay herron

IN the matchday programme this season we have been looking back at the historic Nine in a Row season with special features and exclusive interviews with the people who made it happen. Today, goalkeeper Andy Dibble remembers his shock move to Rangers from Manchester City in March 1997 and his remarkable debut against Celtic at Parkhead when Brian Laudrup’s goal took the Light Blues one step closer to title glory.

TOM SUTHERLAND - ONCE A RANGER, ALWAYS A RANGER THIS season in the matchday programme Rangers historian David Mason will continue to provide fascinating stories from our great club’s illustrious past.

Tom Sutherland on the pitch at Ibrox in 1992

I

N the 31 years I have been with the club, I have been very fortunate to meet lots of interesting people from all walks of life. There have been the

movie stars like Robert Duvall, Robert Carlyle and Sean Connery and pop artists such as Amy Macdonald, Derek Forbes and Marti Pellow.

I’ve even met Celticmad Rod Stewart inside Ibrox, but by far the most fascinating of people, and in many ways humbling, was Tom Sutherland.

The Last Word with

Lee Hodson

L

EE HODSON was given the job of nullifying the threat from winger Scott Sinclair in last weekend’s Old Firm league showdown, and he did so with aplomb. The Englishman failed to produce a shot on goal over the 90 minutes for the first time since Celtic’s 7-0 humiliation at Barcelona’s Nou Camp which tells you everything about

Hodson’s impressive performance. It’s been a good couple of weeks for the full-back, who was named in Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland squad for a Group C World Cup qualifier with Norway at Windsor Park on March 26. You can hear an exclusive interview with Lee on this week’s Official Rangers Podcast, and here is what he had

to say about Sunday’s dramatic 1-1 draw in Glasgow’s east end… Going to Celtic Park was a great experience and I thought we performed well as a team. We started brightly and we were sharp and put them on the back foot, and personally I thought we could have got more out of the game. >>> TO READ MORE BUY SATURDAY’S OFFICIAL MATCHDAY PROGRAMME
