Rihanna Debuts Collection for River Island during London Fashion Week
With her daring and edgy personal style, one can always count on Rihanna to push the boundaries when it comes to fashion. The R&B star’s runway show is no exception. With a five-‐tier stage acting as a runway, the atmosphere was more so like that of a nightclub, with music blaring from the speakers and cocktails flowing. Her personality shined through in all aspects of the fashion show. Rihanna’s first collection for the British fashion brand, River Island, displayed styles very similar to what we have been seeing the star herself dressed in. With belly-‐baring shirts, maxi skirts with thigh-‐high slits, and bold mesh tops, it was evident that Rihanna was heavily involved in the design process. The designs are also very 90’s inspired with jackets tied around the waist, backwards baseball caps, floral prints, crop tops, and high wasted short shorts. The night proved that Rihanna stayed true to her style, and to end the show she came out, simply smiled, took a bow, and let her designs do the talking. The Rihanna for River Island collection will be available starting March 5.
