Philanthropy is a calling one embraces and it models for our children a dedication to community and service. Our children always benefit from role models of such stature. Thanks to the dedication, loyalty, and generosity of parents, alumni, past parents, grandparents, teachers, administration, trustees and friends, Ranney School exceeded its annual fund goal last year of $750,000 with a year-end total of $753,000. Thanks to your generous suppor t, this milestone marks the second consecutive year we have surpassed our goal; in 2010-2011 we raised $713,000. Indeed, this trend represents the ever-expanding culture of philanthropy at Ranney School, now in line with our peer schools.
Additionally, Planned Giving is a new opportunity to suppor t the school now and in the future. Bequests, large or small, can be a significant source of suppor t for Ranney School. A donor may set up a charitable trust arrangement, designating the income for life to another person and the principal ultimately goes to Ranney School. We have our accountants and legal counsel ready to help you explore this method of giving, should you wish to learn more about a legacy gift and these options of suppor t. Delivering a Ranney School education requires considerable resources, and tuition alone does not cover our operating expenses each year. As is true for most independent schools, Ranney's annual budget is financed through four sources: tuition, summer programs, investment income and philanthropic support. The Ranney Fund, our annual giving program, contributes a vital measure of the resources we rely on each year to provide our students with extraordinary programs, opportunities and academic instruction. Contributions to the Fund provide an important degree of flexibility in responding to the evolving financial needs of the school and to continuing its tradition of providing an excellent education.
admit qualified students who are deeply motivated and mission appropriate. Our growing financial aid program has provided funds to sustain a unique student body, enhancing our community with diversity and character.
Q The new Athletic Strategic Plan, The Game
Changer: An Investment in the Scholar-Athlete Tradition was launched last year with enormous success. Investments were made in many areas of our expanding interscholastic programs and facilities. We are excited about the possibilities ahead!
What is most impor tant is that every dollar has made a difference. Every single gift, regardless of size, including all the volunteer support and gifts in-kind, ignites a child’s Ranney education. The Ranney Fund is more than an option: it is a gift to guarantee your child’s future.
