Abstract One third of the land surface of the world consists of the desert. Much of it present vast areas where the sun, the wind and the aggregate character of the surface create the most extreme conditions for living. Several projects approached the question of using the aggregation and the erosion as architectural tools to create habitable space. Project Dune: Arenaceous Anti Desertification Architecture by Magnus Larsson layed a groundwork on using reinforced sand structures as a framework for habitable spaces and provided an outlook on the possible technological and spatial potentials of such approach. Diploma project Sandwriter by Adriana Debnarova expanded the social boundaries of the project and further researched the technology behind the use of aggregation and erosion. Workshop Gone with the wind: architecture of controlled erosion takes the next step and explores the concrete morphologies of the spaces created by the erosions. During the workshop participants will be acquainted with the existing state of the art in the field. They will use various computational tools for the simulation of the aggregation and erosion process and perform physical experiments to proof their hypotheses. Participants will engage in both bottom up and
