三百多年來,紐約一直是當代紋身藝術發展的

The late Cy Twombly was a world-famous abstract graffiti artist, born in the US and active in Europe. This extremely comprehensive retrospective exhibit focuses around three important “circular” works: “Nine Discourses on Commodus” (1963), “Fifty Days at Iliam” (1978), and “Coronation of Sesostris” (2000). The exhibit includes over 140 works, several of which have never been displayed in France, and it is coming only to Paris.

The exhibit includes famous American art collector Jeffrey Horvitz’s 30-year collection of over 200 18th century French paintings and sculptures. Horvitz is regarded as the most important private collector of French artwork on the other side of the Atlantic, having acquired the best works of the most famous artists of the day: Watteau, Boucher, Fragonard, Greuze, and David. The exhibit is divided into a dozen topics ranging from mythic art to infants, nudes, scenery, and the revolution era, providing a glimpse of the explosive creativity of this century. © Petit Palais Museum

New York has been an important center of development for contemporary tattoo art for over three centuries, starting with body art in the early days and artistic sailor tattoos during the colonial period. Although it was forbidden in 1961 , this art form changed and joined underground culture, where it continues to thrive today. This exhibit not only explores the history of tattoos and how they merged with pop culture but also tells the history of a highly controversial art form in the cultural center of the US.

The Whitney Biennial displays a small-scale version of art development in New York and the entire US. In an age of new cultural trends and constant political change, artists use a variety of media and artistic language to express a complex world. This is the focus of the biennial. This year, the exhibit was designed by upcoming artists Christopher Y. Lew and Mia Locks, leading us on a journey of exploration into how artists in a turbulent society construct their selves and personal space.

Contemporary artist N. S. Harsha was born in Mysore, the ancient capital of southern India, in 1969. He won the Artes Mundi Prize. The refined Indian micro-drawing art tells a story and shows his pondering over the way life can be unreasonable, concrete, or abstract. This exhibit displays his main works after 1995, taking us on a fascinating journey through southern India among people, plants, and animals.

The 1920-1950’s were an important period in the history of photography. This exhibit will display over 150 photographs from over 60 artists of the period. These include portraits, nudes, static scenery, news photos, and photos documenting major events, cultural movements, and current affairs. These works display the development of modernist photography.

本次秋拍推出的《翻轉世代》小型專場 , 同樣成績不俗,件數成交率達 84.21% ,金 額成交率近 115% ,其中奈良美智《失眠 夜坐著》,則在拍賣開始後半小時內引發熱 烈競標浪潮 ,多支電話與現場買家皆勢在 必得,以 55 萬元起拍一路直追,經 11 口 相繼競價後,最終以 156 萬元成交,成為 目前世界第三高紀錄。

侘寂。一種思想,一種美學,一種世界觀。 十九世紀的日本美學家岡倉天心的著書《茶之本 Book of tea》把「侘び」翻譯成「Imperfect」, 所指「殘缺」。亦是所謂「上をそそうに、下を律儀に」 (外表粗糙,內在完美)之意。 Wabi-Sabi: An ideology, aesthetic, and worldview. “Book of Tea,”by 19th-century Japanese aesthetician Okakura Kakuzo, translates the term “侘び”as“imperfect,”or the so-called“outer roughness with inner perfection.”

The most attractive and fascinating thing about whisky is that even under the most accurate control of modern technology, the spirits distilled and the whisky after maturation in barrels are never exactly the same. Factors behind it include the weather of the year, the quality of the barley, the condition of the barrels, and every detail in the process of distillation. The release of “ Single Cask Whisky” perfectly defines the diverse and unduplicated characteristics of whisky.

Many people have a misconception that Single Malt stands for Single Cask, forgetting that single cask is only a very small part of single malt, and that most of the single malt actually require the p rocess of Blending. Therefore, the art of blending is important even in the world of “ Single Malt.” If we say that casks of whisky are notes of music, Master Blender is then a talented composer. Depending on their exceptional sensitive nose and hundred of thousands ’ trial and error, whiskies with different characters are then able to be produced.
