How to Make Jeera Rice (Indian Spiced Rice) RawSpiceBar Spices Easy, fragrant basmati rice with cumin seeds and freshly ground garam masala. Serve with curries, dals or as is.
Ingredients 2 cups basmati rice, cooked 2 tbsp ghee or butter 2 tsp jeera (cumin seeds) 1 yellow onion 1 tsp garam masala Kosher salt, to taste 1 inch ginger, minced 2 cloves garlic, minced
Directions 1. In a large skillet over medium high heat, add ghee, butter or oil. Once hot, add onions and saute, 5-6 minutes. Add cumin seeds, salt and garam masala, 2-3 minutes, until fragrant. 2. Add cooked rice with a dash of oil and simmer, 4-5 minutes until fragrant. Serve as is, top with golden raisins or almonds or serve with curry or dal and enjoy!
