he Glendale Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee serves as a collective voice and advocates for the Glendale business community regarding government policies and affairs affecting our member businesses to ensure that those governmental actions are conducive to a strong and healthy business climate for Glendale that consistently supports high quality economic growth. The last 2 years have challenged our West Valley businesses in unprecedented ways and we have been witness to challenges and triumphs as the pandemic continues to impact our communities. Now, more than ever, the Chamber recognizes the need for aggressive advocacy to ensure a thriving economy where our businesses and residents can work, recreate, and do business. In 2021, the Public Policy Committee advocated for issues at the State and local level in a wide range of

areas such as western water infrastructure and drought resilience, key education issues including building a skilled and ready workforce and expanding college access for low-income Arizonans, affordable access to healthcare and lowering prescription drug costs, transportation funding and more. In May of 2021, the Public Policy Committee created a Diversity Task Force who successfully campaigned to make Glendale the 9th city in Arizona to adopt an inclusive non-discrimination ordinance prohibiting discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations. With over 1,000 bills being introduced in the 2022 legislative session the Glendale Chamber Public Policy Committee is poised to be the voice of business in the West Valley, so our business owners can focus on what’s important – running their business.
