Summer Nature Camps
The Highlands Center offers a variety of summer nature camps! We will spend the week outside exploring, completing challenges, crafting, building, journaling and making friends. Campers won't just be in the forest, they will experience the forest in a whole new way. They will learn something about themselves and the local wildlife through play, interaction, and fun! A variety of nature camps are offered for ages 4-13 during July. Many sessions are full - book as early as possible! See website for details.

Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary
Located at 1403 Heritage Park Rd. in Prescott and open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The HPZS is a nonprofit wildlife sanctuary, dedicated to the conservation and protection of native and exotic animals. The zoo offers educational opportunities and special events throughout the year.

Red, White, & BOOM! 4th of July Celebration
Prescott Valley Civic Center
3:00 PM-9:30 PM
Full afternoon and evening for the entire family, ending with a spectacular fireworks show launched from the center of town. Fireworks will start at 9:30 PM. Will include live music, free carnival rides and games, pony rides, face painting, and balloon art. The parking lot of Findlay Toyota Center will be open for family gatherings and barbeques, as well as a front row seat to the fireworks. Bob Edwards Park will be available for fireworks viewing and family gatherings on July 4th.

The Sharlot Hall Museum is located in downtown Prescott at 415 W. Gurley St. The history museum has exhibits, galleries, gardens and historic buildings. Open Tue. to Sat. 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and 12:00 to 4:00 PM on Sundays. See website calendar for the July special events at the museum.

Taiko DrummerSummer Reading Program
Chino Valley Public Library
Two programs available: 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Will be held in Memory Park. In case of inclement weather the event will move to the library. “Japanese Taiko Drumming and the Musical Instruments of Asia” incorporates demonstration, lecture, audience participation and hands-on with instruments that further encourages the audience to learn more about the culture, society, and science of these unique instruments. Free admission.
