Taras grew up in Montreal and went to McGill University. Taras’ father, Rostyslav Kulish who was born in Ukraine, founded the CYM Trembyta Youth Orchestra in 1967 and directed the Boyan Choir in addition to the choirs at St. Sophie Orthodox and St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic churches. Rostyslav Kulish always used to say: “The community is the most important thing.” Taras sang in Boyan as bass/baritone before his father passed away in 1988. Taras began his career as a lawyer working in Toronto in 1993 for a small international law firm, Gauthier + Associates before going back to Montreal in 1997. Then he met his wife and returned to Toronto. Taras has been with STHI Law since 2002. As a lawyer, Taras Kulish has four main specializations: Real Estate; Business Law; Trademarks; and Charity/Not-for-profit. He uses his 20 plus years of experience to find creative solutions for companies and people. Taras is a sought after public speaker and delivers informative presentations with humour. In June 2015, Taras spoke on Trademark Law before the Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Association (UCPBA) and he briefed the lawyers of the Ukrainian Canadian Bar Association (UCBA) on Buying and Selling a Business. Taras is a founding member of UCBA which was created in October 2014.
Since 2000, Taras Kulish has served HOPE worldwide of Canada in many capacities. He is always a volunteer, was Chair of the Board and Country Director and now serves as the volunteer International Relations Officer. Taras has helped people all over the world recover from natural disasters and civil war including the Philippines, Ivory Coast and Haiti. After Maidan, Taras knew he could bring his expertise to Ukraine. With one million Internally Displaced People (IDPs), including 60% women and children, Ukraine is faced with a growing humanitarian disaster. Taras contacted the HOPE worldwide Ukraine team and the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” Project was created and launched to help children overcome the psychological effects of trauma caused by the War in Eastern Ukraine. Everybody asks why he does it. Taras answers: “In my life, I have been given so much. I have a moral duty to serve those who are less fortunate, and my motto is: ‘There but for the grace of God, go I’”. About a fifth of all adults and a third of all children suffer from different forms of allergies, these include conditions such as asthma, eczema, and hay fever. What are allergies? From a medical standpoint, allergies are symptoms of the immune system over-reacting to common and often harmless substances. As a result of exposure to allergens, a person may experience headaches, sneezing, wheezing, difficulty breathing, watery eyes, runny nose, itchy throat, skin rashes, digestive complaints etc. For those who suffer from seasonal allergies there is a natural preventative treatment that can reduce or eliminate symptoms for the entire allergy season. More and more people are affected by seasonal allergies, including hay fever. Hay fever is caused by pollen or dust which irritates the mucous membranes of the eyes and nose making them itchy and inflamed, causing a runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, coughing, etc,.There is an abundance of flowering trees, bushes, grasses and other plants across North America which supply a generous amount of pollen during the warm seasons. Late summer and early autumn are when ragweed blooms and causes hay fever in many people. Our climate is favourable for over 41 species of ragweed, and its pollination season lasts until the first freeze. Rag weed typically blooms in Ontario in late August and early September. There are three ways to address allergies: avoiding the allergen, suppressing the reaction, and desensitization of the allergen. Avoiding the offending substances is often recommended and can be an effective measure to help with allergy symptoms. When you are aware of your allergen, you can try to avoid it, such as certain foods, like dairy or gluten. Unfortunately, sometimes it is almost impossible to avoid offending substances. Pollen, for example, is unavoidable in spring, summer, and fall. Symptomatic relief can, however, be achieved with medical treatment, which uses mainly antihistamines to suppress the effect of histamine, and if necessary steroids
WHAT TREATMENTS WORK? to address the inflammation; however, these drugs often come with side effects that can be as annoying as the allergies themselves. Symptomatic relief can also be achieved with natural treatments which include nutritional supplements with anti-inflammatory agents and homeopathic remedies; which are non-toxic and side effect free. Desensitization is an extremely effective way to deal with allergies, especially seasonal allergens. It is used as a preventative measure to stop allergy symptoms before they occur. Your immune system can be taught not to overreact to an allergen, such as ragweed pollen, for example. Specific homeopathic remedies are effectively used to convey a message to the immune system by gently introducing the information about an upcoming aggressor (rag weed) and allowing the immune system to regain its normal function. After just the first treatment, you may experience a significant reduction in symptoms, with patients even reporting symptom free seasons. With allergy season fast approaching and a full month left of summer, it is beneficial to start your prevention now. If you suffer from rag weed allergies, natural treatments can be effective for you. The prevention treatment, in a convenient weekly dose, should be taken for at least 5-6 weeks prior to the exposure of allergens. Symptoms begin to decrease from season to season with the use of natural treatments. Often, allergies indicate deeper health issues, like a burdened immune system. If you are suffering from allergies, suppressing symptoms and ignoring the problem can lead to other health conditions. Take charge of your health and live allergy free.
