OMAR'S CORNER
OMAR GONZALEZ
Spring has arrived, and that means that Riverton Racquets is back! We have an ambitious program planned for this upcoming season, and I look forward to seeing new faces join us on the courts.
Let me begin with a pickleball update. Pickleball has grown by leaps and bounds across the nation, so much so that wherever you go, almost anywhere, you count on finding a community club or league that is bursting with players. Over the past several years, our pickleball program has experienced that same growth and has taken off exponentially! Taking into consideration the growing interest, I knew we needed to provide more from a staffing standpoint. With that said, I am excited to share that Lee Collins will be joining my wife Kathleen as part of our Pickleball staff! As you all know, Lee has been the Pool Manager here at Riverton for over 15 years. What many of you may not know, however, is that he is a pickleball enthusiast and has been involved in the sport across the region. With Lee's experience and passion for the game, I am confident our pickleball program will reach new heights. Of course, a big shout out to my wife Kathleen, who has helped me get this program off the ground.
I also want to give another special shout-out to Steve Foley for his incredible dedication and passion for pickleball. Steve's hard work and talent have led him to be one of the best players in the South Jersey region! Join me in congratulating Steve and wishing him continued success!
On the tennis side of our programming, please be sure to check out our weekly offerings and event calendars. In working with the Tennis Committee, I have kept our most popular clinics and events and will continue to work towards creating new events and growing our offerings. I want to give special recognition to our beloved Jack Cranmer for his hard work this season. We are so proud of Jack and not surprised that he was the top Varsity Player at Moorestown Friends School this season. The future of Riverton tennis is bright!
In closing, as we enter this new season, I implore you to remember to make court reservations when planning to play and be sure to list any guests! This is vitally important in maintaining a smooth, safe, and successful operation and providing the best possible experience for you and your guest.
As always, I hope to see old and new faces on the courts this season!
