Artist Biography Tina Lindegaard (Summer 2012 - current front cover)

As an artist, I consider myself primarily a painter although I often resolve my work by incorporating mixed media, photography and collage. I love to experiment and try new things, and am constantly reinventing myself and my creative process. As far as my interest in landscape painting, this was spurned by the Art in the Park project in 2008. In my work I often apply the paint loosely and without too much consideration for the final outcome. I enjoy manipulating and combining my images and often choose my colors not from what I see, but rather from what I feel. I may not necessarily strive for visual accuracy but am most interested in the ‘little accidents’ that occur along the way. In this way my art often speaks to the viewer in a way I could never plan. Namaste.

I am a local artist living and working out of my home studio, Begbie Studios. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, I spent my most formative years there and then moved with my family to Canada in 1975. I eventually settled here in Revelstoke, BC and have made this my home for over twenty years. Following a career in the airline industry and a degree in marketing and management, I returned to my passion in the fine arts and finished my BFA in 2008.

The purpose of this page is to highlight people, positions, or groups in town who we see as a great addition to the Revelstoke family!

General Interest

Revelstoke Roller Derby Association (RRDA)

Sum m er

is a non-profit incorporation, run for skaters, by skaters. They are a new association in town within this past year, celebrating women of all backgrounds coming together in the name of athleticism, community spirit and self expression. As well as female skaters, they also welcome male officials and volunteers. RRDA skaters maintain a strong presence in the community through involvement with other non-profit fundraisers, such as the Emergency Services Fight Back Against Hunger here in Revelstoke. CHECK IT OUT! RRDA will host their first home bout June 23rd at the Revelstoke Forum, on 1100 Vernon Avenue. Dubbed the Ski Town Showdown, the bout will see the Revelstoke Derailers take on Whistler’s Black Diamond Betties. Be sure to head out to this fun event to show your support for a new team in town!

Meghan Tabor

moved here from North Vancouver in 2009 and is currently working as the Chamber of Commerce’s new Tourism Development Coordinator. She is a Dalhousie University grad in business management and recreation studies. Meghan’s community involvement in her three years here, makes her “part of the glue of a community” that we think should be recognized. She volunteers as a Youth Mentor in our “Youth Mentorship” program in town, coaches a u-13 girls Revelstoke rep soccer team, is part of the CARDA (Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association) program, currently with a dog “In-training” , and works part time for the ski patrol up at RMR. Other special interest groups Meghan is involved with include; Board of Directors for Friends of Mount Revelstoke and Glacier, organizing committee for Bike to Work Week, event organizer for Freeskiing World Tour, or you may see her at her smoothie stand at the Revelstoke Farmers Market! Meghan, you are a great role model in Revelstoke, thanks for all your dedicated work.
