ANITA YUSOF IS BACK HOME Hong Leong Yamaha Motors (HLYM) held a welcome back event for Anita Yusof, the solo female Malaysian adventure rider, with Media this morning. Anita arrived back in Malaysia on the auspicious Malaysia Day 16th September after completed over 65,000 km of journey riding a motorcycle. She started the tour in the American continents, she has traveled through from the freezing Alaska, Canada to the United States of America and down south to Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, Chile and reaching Ushuaia (the southernmost city in the world), Argentina on a Yamaha FZ150i. She jokingly said that no one believed that bike she was riding was a 150cc bike. Then, the FZ150i was flown to London where she continued touring the United Kingdom, Europe and Middle Asia then to Thailand for the final leg of the Global Dream Ride (GDR) 2016’. Upon arriving on Malaysia Day, Anita has expressed her thankfulness to Hong Leong Yamaha and GIVI, that has made possible of this dream journey. We asked Anita, what motivated her, she then replied wanted to find a new trill in her life, so after reading a blog where there were beautiful photos of places in Kyrgyzstan, and she just wanted to visit Kyrgyzstan, at that time she was only a backpacker, she then contacted the blogger and Anita was told that the country was very remote and no public transport, and best is to have her own transportation, and thats when Anita decided to learn how to ride a motorcycle just because she wanted to visit Kyrgyzstan at that time. She pick up riding and one year later she already did her Central Asia ride, the motivation for the Global Dream Ride, was her passion to ride and to see the world, see beautiful places and meeting people around the world. Hong Leong Yamaha Motor was proud to sponsor and to be associated Anita Yusof in her Global Dream Ride, said Dato Jim Khor in his welcome speech. Asked about her future rides, she continues “Let me take a rest for a while first. I have not seen my family for a year and I want to spend time with them and catch up on things.”



We finally tested the long waited RS150R in the Cub Prix Track at Teluk Intan. The first ever media convoy riding in Cub Prix racing track together with Khairul Idham Pawi, who has just returned to Malaysia a week ago after his recent victory in Moto3 Germany. The Honda RS150R was officially launched on 13th June 2016 by Boon Siew Honda. This is the first ever sporty model that Honda has to offer in high price CUB category equipped with 150CC engine capacity. A month has passed now, we finally been granted the opportunity to get our hand on the machine prior to the market release in August 2016. We also tested the motorcycle around Teluk Intan district.

The Honda RS150R will be priced from RM8,213.94 to RM8,372.94 (inclusive of GST) and is available from August ’16 onwards at all Honda authorized Dealers nationwide.

GP TIM DI SAN MARINO E DELLA RIVIERA DI RIMINI It's all about tyre choices in this season’s unpredictable MotoGP and making it so, so exciting and the Misano Grand Prix just iterated the fact further as Dani Pedrosa of team Repsol Honda secured the pole in San Marino, taking his first win of the season. The Honda rider clenched to the title ahead of the crowd's favourite Valentino Rossi of Movistar Yamaha, who was followed by teammate Jorge Lorenzo. Pedrosa overtook Rossi in the final stages with seven laps remaining and crossed the line 2.837 seconds ahead of the Italian. Dani Pedrosa is the 8th MotoGP rider in a row to win the title this season Pedrosa's gamble paid off as he opted for a soft-compound front tyre,

allowing him to push throughout the race, having started 8th on the grid. This helped the Spaniard charge against Yamaha riders Rossi and Lorenzo who were leading the race from the grid with the latter starting at the pole. Rossi, supported by a crowd of yellow, was running on a medium front tyre, much like most riders led the race early on, passing Lorenzo on the second lap, and was expected to grab the victory much to the pleasure of the hoards of supporters present. However, the Honda rider's remarkable move allowed him to become the eighth different MotoGP rider in a row to win this season joining the likes of Rossi, Lorenzo, Marquez, Cal Crutchlow, Andrea

Iannone, Jack Miller and Maverick Vinales. Much like Pedrosa, it was their first victory of the season for the last four riders. The Misano GP also marked Pedrosa's first victory, since the Malaysian GP last season

The new 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s suspension not only converts the resulting challenges into a performance benefit. The preconditions for this superiority are top quality chassis components on the cutting edge of technology, like the extremely stable steel trellis frame, semi-active suspension components by WP Performance Systems, unsurpassed Brembo brakes and sticky Pirelli tires. ERGONOMICS AND COMFORT

The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s trellis frame in the typical KTM design is made of thin- walled, stainless chromemolybdenum steel and has an extremely well-balanced rigidity distribution down to the most minute details, as well as superior stability. The steel pipes are manufactured with extreme precision, then laser-cut and welded in place by robots in order to ensure a perfect fit and the highest welding standards. A top quality surface coating protect the frames quality from corrosion. The bolt-on rear subframe made from the aluminium tubes is that of the 1290 SUPER DUKE R to give more room for the pillion and it features integrated mounting for the optional panniers.

The ride mode technology and the motorcycle traction control (MTC) – both fitted as standard – ensure powerful but fully controlled propulsion by modulating the LC8 engine’s power delivery via the on-board computer with regard to the selected ride mode as well as the amount of rear wheel slippage detected by the MTC. The rider of the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT may choose one of three ride modes that utilize different engine power mappings: “Street” and “Sport” mobilize up to 173 hp of maximum power with different throttle response. In “Rain” mode, the power is limited to 100 hp and the engine has a less aggressive power delivery. Depending on the selected ride mode, the Motorcycle Traction Control will allow different amounts of slippage: soft slippage in “Rain” mode, a little more in “Street” mode and controlled wheel spin when switched to “Sport”. In case of excessive slippage, MTC reduces the engine output in a matter of milliseconds with an extremely smooth, barely percep- tible intervention at the throttle valves, until the system has reduced slippage to optimum proportions for the selected ride mode and current angle of lean – the guarantee for maximum performance and ultimate riding pleasure, but also a decisive contribution to active safety. For particularly ambitious riders who feel like enjoying the unrestrained and breathtaking propulsion of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT without any electronic assistance, the traction control can also be switched off.

SINGLE-SIDED SWINGARM The ravishing single-sided aluminium swing arm of the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is not only extremely light and stable but also manufactured with special precision and with ample dimensions. By design, the single-sided swing arm’s flexural behavior and rigidity are perfectly tuned to the trellis frame and to the variety of stresses and loads occurring in the powerful sports tourer. Chain slack is dialed in with a highly precise eccentric adjuster. The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s slipper clutch automatically reduces the pressure on the clutch discs whenever the torque feedback toward the engine becomes too great. This way, rear-wheel chatter under forceful braking is efficiently eliminated. In addition, it increases pressure on the clutch discs in proportion to the engine torque, so softer clutch springs can be used. This in turn means that less force is necessary to operate the hydraulically actuated clutch – it has a sensitive single-finger action

Borrowed from Formula 1, the forged piston structure gives the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s pistons maximum resilience despite an extremely low and lightweight design. This design minimizes the oscillating masses, achieving optimum engine response. Furthermore, the piston skirts have a state-of-the-art, hard anodized finish. Not only does this reduce friction, it is also particularly hard-wearing with consequently a positive impact on durability.

LED CORNERING LIGHTS WITH INTEGRATED LED INDICATORS The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is the first motorcycle in its segment to feature standard LED cornering lights. Comprised of three LED segments each, the light units are mounted on both sides of the tank and connected to the lean angle sensor of the MSC system. Depending on the lean angle, one, two or all three segments of the cornering light on the inside of the curve light up additionally to the main headlight, always giving the rider the perfect view to where he is going. Integrated in the cornering lights are the LED indicators, for a unique and exclusive look. Well deserved in a bike like this.

ENGINE The extremely narrow, fourvalve-per-cylinder engine of the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is among the lightest big twins in the world, developing no less than 173 hp of maximum power and 144 Nm of maximum torque with its electronic engine management, ride-by-wire function, dual ignition and selective mapping. These values are identical to those of the “Beast”. However, for the application of the LC8 power unit in the sports touring 1290 SUPER DUKE GT the KTM technicians have made the impossible possible. They developed new cylinder heads, they modified valve timing and they optimized the mappings to realize even more refined engine run, even more homogenous power output and even more rounded performance curves. For example, no less than 114 Nm of torque are available at 3,250 rpm only. Thanks to these lots of low-end torque, plenty of mid-range punch and breathtaking maximum power, combined with remarkable refinement and incredible smoothness, the upgraded engine covers the complete bandwidth that could be expected of an extreme sports touring bike, from enjoyable cruising to all-out mayhem

OPTIONAL PANNIER SYSTEM

The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT supplies its rider with all necessary and desirable information on a state-of- the-art, clearly arranged instrument cluster from automotive manufacturer VDO. Core data is displayed on a central gauge that consists of an analog rev counter with integrated, adjustable gearshift light and an LCD display. This display is dominated by a digital speedometer and supplemented with a digital clock, a gear indicator, bar graphs for coolant temperature and fuel level plus the display for the selected riding mode. A second LCD display is positioned to the left of the central instrument, which serves the purpose of conveying important additional information and displaying numerous menu pages as a screen for the on-board computer. Everything is tidy, clean, clear, intuitive and simple to operate – even on the go.

Fully fueled, the extremely well-equipped 1290 SUPER DUKE GT weighs in at just 228 kg. This figure includes 23 liters of fuel, which is sufficient for a wide kilometer range thanks to the bike’s excellent consump- tion figures. That is what is called genuine long-dis- tance capability, combined with the reassuring feeling to be able to reach the next gas station even in remote areas. Despite its large volume, the tank offers a very relaxed knee contact for riders of any size. It also has the added benefit that the gas reservoir shields the rider’s lower body effectively from wind and weather.

As standard, the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is prepared for mounting the optional KTM PowerParts panniers that have been especially developed for the GT – as befits a top class sports touring motorcycle. Hardly noticeable on the rear frame, two inconspicuous case mounts serve to attach the panniers close to the center of gravity without impeding the pillion’s freedom of movement. A solid grab handle offers extra support for the passenger.

MOTORCYCLESTABILITY CONTROL(MSC)

The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT has the latest version of the cutting-edge motorcycle stability control (MSC) as standard. Developed in co-operation with Bosch, this riding dynamics control unit ensures lean angle sensitive control of the multi-stage C-ABS and the Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) of the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT which also offers several different control modes. The system allows proportionately less slip of the wheels as lean angle increases. This way, the MSC enables the rider to brake and accelerate in safety on wet roads and other slippery surfaces even when the bike is leaned over in corners. In other words, MSC creates the perfect conditions for maximum dynamism and riding enjoyment, combined with optimum safety.

COMBINEDANTI -LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (C-ABS) The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is equipped with the combined anti-lock braking system (C-ABS) as standard. Like no other ABS, this system stands for extremely short braking distances, combined with optimum vehicle control. If the front brake is applied alone, C-ABS adds a wellbalanced amount of rear braking pressure in order to optimize directional stability during braking. The system modulates the braking pressure in such a way as to minimize any tendencies to roll over at full braking, while also effectively avoiding locking up and sliding of the wheels even in corners – of course within the natural physical limits only. Depending on conditions and personal preferences, the rider may select

“Supermoto” ABS mode or disengage the C-ABS completely. In “Supermoto” mode, the system allows the highest degree of front wheel slippage and even rear wheel lock up. The GT’s CABS unites the talents of combined braking and lightning-quick, efficient pressure modulation with the high quality Brembo hardware to make the most advanced braking system on the market – nothing else brakes more progressively or safely, even at extreme lean angles

RIDE-BY-WIRESYSTEM Instead of the electronic injection system’s throttle valves being controlled by cables, ride-by-wire processes throttle twist grip movements with the help of electronic sensors and activates the throttle valves accordingly using servo motors. However, the ride bywire system on the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT goes the extra mile: it electronically translates the throttle commands of the rider into optimum throttle valve positions for the current riding situation. Choking, jolting and involuntary wheelies are a thing of the past. Voluntary ones, however, could easily be a thing of the future.

The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s highly modern DOHC four-valve cylinder heads with improved combustion chambers and with dual ignition deliver a significant contribution to the outstanding performance of the LC8 engine. Via separate, newly developed mappings, the dual ignition controls the sparks of the two spark plugs per cylinder Head independently from each other, achieving an efficient combustion as well as a smooth combustion cycle. The results are more power, more torque and more refinement, lower fuel consumption and fewer emissions than a single ignition. The four valves of each cylinder head are actuated by two overhead camshafts via DLC-coated finger followers. Nitrified exhaust valves minimize wear and allow for extended valve play inspection intervals – one of the prerequisites for the new SUPER DUKE GT’s service intervals of 15,000 kilometers.

This is our second request to Road Test the 2016 ZX-10R this time we took a longer route to the north in to Penang Island. People think that riding a superbike for 300-400km will give you a back or neck pain. That’s why to took this challenge and see would the ZX-10R give us that. A few weeks back we rode the 2010 ZX6R, we also didn’t have this problem and tucking under the bubble gave us less wind drag even at higher. So we got up at 7am, packed our GoPros and SLR, and a night of clothing in for a 2 day 1 night adventure to shoot a video at Telok Bahang. We left our office at 8am. And we took our 1st stop

Rawang R&R for some Nescafe and Sardine bun. We got there at 8.10 am as it was a Friday, I was surprise to see only one biker at Petronas/Starbucks area , and the biker was riding a Suzuki Hayabusa. ( Hayabusa was a mean machine in its days) We chat for a while, and he told me he was heading to Bentong for a bikers gathering. He was waiting for the rest of his group. He had never seen the new ZX-10R he added. So I explained a little bit about the new ZX-10R I was riding and told I going on a Road Trip to Penang. riding position was much more relax compare to the ZX-6R. With 3 stops and some selfie shots along the way the ZX-10R was way smoother. Even my throttle hand does not feel any bit tired. I reach Juru Autocity and drop by to a Kawasaki dealer and waited for my videoman there for lunch, then we head to to Batu Feringgi and Telok Bahang for a taste of narrow but twist corners.


The handing package of the ZX-10R is as close as WorldSBK, in the track but how will it perform in narrow single lane roads of Batu Feringgi? I had the bike on F Mode all through the journey, TC , riding on the uneven roads, was a breeze, easy flip flopping from left and right, the Showa suspension was working perfectly, 2nd 3rd back to second, some times 1st gear was simply smooth, any what I loved about the 210 hp (154.4 kW) at 13,000 rpm, it’s the slipper clutch and the Kawasaki Engine Braking system (KEBC) working together feels like no other 1000cc superbike we ever testest on road or on track, but the road test this time was to find out that how comfortable a riding experience is to ride long distance. This ZX-10R Road Trip to Penang Island convince us that this ZX-10R is the one of the easiest handling 1000cc superbike indeed, weather on road n on track, but most of us use it on the roads would not even think it was a 1000cc. We know as our long termer is a ZX-6R, that don’t even come close. To a beginner I can say it handles like a Ninja 300, to a experience rider, feels like a ZX6R but packed with rider aid, that make a experience rider ride like a pro.

The 2016 ZX-10R indeed a must to take it to a trackday at least to fully enjoy this machine, but given any Sunday ride would be breeze, all built around Bosch’s incredible Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), which measures five axis of movement and calculates a 6th. This is the same little magic box that made it impossible to low side a Ducati Multistrada in the rain, even better on dry. The system is able to measure acceleration and braking, lateral forces while cornering, vertical acceleration (like cresting a hill at speed), lean angle, and during a “wheelie” or “stoppie” and then uses those to calculate a powerslide, I can slide out of a sandy corner with full confidence, as it takes those measurements, as well as ones on wheel speed, brake pressure, throttle position, engine rpm, and throttle opening. Kawasaki even go so far as to claim the system’s level of chassis awareness is so high, it can adapt to changes in tire performance and road camber. The difference, for better or worse, in this system is that it uses software developed in house by Kawasaki using the experience of their WSBK team rather than an off-theshelf Bosch system – so its application will be unique to any that have come before it. And it really works! All of those fancy measurements give Kawasaki the data they need to implement what they’re claiming are some of the most accurate and appropriately intervening electronic aides. The 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R has traction control (SKTRC), ABS (KIBS), launch control (KLCM), brake control, corner management, and 3 step power modes. Corner management works similar to the system on the Ducatis, and distributes brake pressure based on the motorcycle’s lean/pitch angle. While this doesn’t sound sexy, it was maybe the most important thing I experienced on the Multistrada, because it keeps the bike from standing up and running wide in a turn when the brakes are applied. Holding your line while you slow is a game changer. Brake management was something Kawasaki implemented on the H2 and is allows the engine braking characteristics to be customized, which can be massively helpful in setting up a bike for different tracks. Enough said, if god is willing and the wifey says okay, I hope I get one, in my personal garage!

review I got this helmet MKA Motorparts Sdn Bhd, it fits very well on a round head. The replica graphics are amazing. The KYT Venom padding has improve from the previous Galaxy I got from Indonesia, I love the new padding on the helmet, no complaints on the front top air vent and the new rear air outlet. Switch from the standard clear visor to Iridium tinted , blue, orange or rainbow to match the replica design you choice and the KYT open face looks stunning. Noise level is a bit above average. We tested the KYT Venom during a few rides to Gotong Jaya and to Bukit Tinggi ECE3, SIRIM & JPJ approved helmet. GoPro HERO5 Black and HERO5 Session will be in Malaysia next week GoPro Malaysian distributor Funsportz had just announce launching its brand new action cameras, the HERO5 Black and HERO5 Session, both of which will be available in Malaysia starting next Monday, October 3, 2016.

Between the two cameras, it’s the HERO5 Black that’s more the more hi-end featured wise. It’s able to capture 4K videos at 30 fps (or 1,440p and 1,080p videos at 80 fps and 120fps, respectively), and shoot 12MP RAW and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) images. It also comes with creature comforts, such as a 2-inch LCD touch display, and built-in GPS for location tracking. Looks like GoPro incorporated the Hero 4 Silver and Black and Hero 4 Session all in to 1 Black Edition, and it-self is water proof with out casing up to 10 metre just like the Session4. The HERO5 Session is likewise able to capture 4K videos at 30 fps, but 1,440p and 1,080p videos are recorded with a lower maximum framerate of 60 fps and 90 fps, respectively. Resolution of still photos are capped at 10MP (no RAW format or WDR), and you’ll also have to come to terms with using the HERO 5 Session without a touchscreen or built-in GPS, but as I biker I prefer the session as its more convenient to place at my helmet or and mounting points on our 4 bikes.

With that said, there are some commonalities between the HERO5 Black and HERO 5 Session. For example, both can be brought underwater at depths of up to 10 meters without the need for a special underwater housing. In addition, they feature ‘professional-grade’ electronic video stabilization, and they can be voice controlled in seven different languages. The only disappoint news is the GoPro Karma Gopro’s drone will not be available until next year, as we eagerly want this Karma in our gadget list The GoPro HERO5 Black and HERO5 Session will be retailing for RM1,849 and RM1,399.
