REBADGED BY MODENAS Modenas recently launched the 2017 Pulsar NS200 naked sports and RS200 full-fairing sports bike. It’s a collaboration with Baja Auto of India, But the RS200 is fuel injection single cylinder 199.5cc, while the NS200 is carburettor, both models comes with DTS triple-spark technology, RS200 with Nitrox rear suspension and inverted front forks while NS200 comes with standard telescopic front suspension. The RS200 is sweetened with all the benefits of the electronic injection system, thereby gaining power and sports performance, in fact, is able to perform at peak 24.5 HP at 9,750 rpm and a torque of 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm, a 1hp more compared to NS200 and the RS200 is complete with a “Transformer” like fairing which gives it a more sporty appearance. ABS system from by Bybre, which is a subsidiary of Brembo gives RS200 more braking safety. The sportier RS200 has a single 300mm disc and 230mm rear disc that comes with ABS as standard, with the price of RM11,342 including GST. While the Pulsar NS200, is a lightweight Naked, with four valve carburettor with a displacement of 199.5 cc, also liquid cooled, capable of producing a power of 23.5 HP at 9,500 rpm. The NS200 gets a smaller 280 mm front disc, and no ABS and standard telescopic front suspension. The naked NS200 price of RM9222 including GST. A full day of intensive riding course at Unimap, Perlis plants the skills for motorcycle and scooter rider. Instead of the electronic injection system’s throttle valves being controlled by cables, ride-by-wire processes throttle twist grip movements with the help of electronic sensors and activates the throttle valves accordingly using servo motors. However, the ride bywire system on the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT goes the extra mile: it electronically translates the throttle commands of the rider into optimum throttle valve positions for the current riding situation. Choking, jolting and involuntary wheelies are a thing of the past. Voluntary ones, however, could easily be a thing of the future.

NEW 23-LITER TANK
The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT supplies its rider with all necessary and desirable information on a state-of- the-art, clearly arranged instrument cluster from automotive manufacturer VDO. Core data is displayed on a central gauge that consists of an analog rev counter with integrated, adjustable gearshift light and an LCD display. This display is dominated by a digital speedometer and supplemented with a digital clock, a gear indicator, bar graphs for coolant temperature and fuel level plus the display for the selected riding mode. A second LCD display is positioned to the left of the central instrument, which serves the purpose of conveying important additional information and displaying numerous menu pages as a screen for the on-board computer. Everything is tidy, clean, clear, intuitive and simple to operate – even on the go.
Fully fueled, the extremely well-equipped 1290 SUPER DUKE GT weighs in at just 228 kg. This figure includes 23 liters of fuel, which is sufficient for a wide kilometer range thanks to the bike’s excellent consump- tion figures. That is what is called genuine long-dis- tance capability, combined with the reassuring feeling to be able to reach the next gas station even in remote areas. Despite its large volume, the tank offers a very relaxed knee contact for riders of any size. It also has the added benefit that the gas reservoir shields the rider’s lower body effectively from wind and weather.
As standard, the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is prepared for mounting the optional KTM PowerParts panniers that have been especially developed for the GT – as befits a top class sports touring motorcycle. Hardly noticeable on the rear frame, two inconspicuous case mounts serve to attach the panniers close to the center of gravity without impeding the pillion’s freedom of movement. A solid grab handle offers extra support for the passenger.
MOTORCYCLESTABILITY CONTROL(MSC)
The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT has the latest version of the cutting-edge motorcycle stability control (MSC) as standard. Developed in co-operation with Bosch, this riding dynamics control unit ensures lean angle sensitive control of the multi-stage C-ABS and the Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) of the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT which also offers several different control modes. The system allows proportionately less slip of the wheels as lean angle increases. This way, the MSC enables the rider to brake and accelerate in safety on wet roads and other slippery surfaces even when the bike is leaned over in corners. In other words, MSC creates the perfect conditions for maximum dynamism and riding enjoyment, combined with optimum safety.
COMBINEDANTI -LOCK BRAKINGSYSTEM (C-ABS) The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is equipped with the combined anti-lock braking system (C-ABS) as standard. Like no other ABS, this system stands for extremely short braking distances, combined with optimum vehicle control. If the front brake is applied alone, C-ABS adds a wellbalanced amount of rear braking pressure in order to optimize directional stability during braking. The system modulates the braking pressure in such a way as to minimize any tendencies to roll over at full braking, while also effectively avoiding locking up and sliding of the wheels even in corners – of course within the natural physical limits only. Depending on conditions and personal preferences, the rider may select
“Supermoto” ABS mode or disengage the C-ABS completely. In “Supermoto” mode, the system allows the highest degree of front wheel slippage and even rear wheel lock up. The GT’s CABS unites the talents of combined braking and lightning-quick, efficient pressure modulation with the high quality Brembo hardware to make the most advanced braking system on the market – nothing else brakes more progressively or safely, even at extreme lean angles

SINGLE-SIDED SWINGARM The ravishing single-sided aluminium swing arm of the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is not only extremely light and stable but also manufactured with special precision and with ample dimensions. By design, the single-sided swing arm’s flexural behavior and rigidity are perfectly tuned to the trellis frame and to the variety of stresses and loads occurring in the powerful sports tourer. Chain slack is dialed in with a highly precise eccentric adjuster.
The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s slipper clutch automatically reduces the pressure on the clutch discs whenever the torque feedback toward the engine becomes too great. This way, rear-wheel chatter under forceful braking is efficiently eliminated. In addition, it increases pressure on the clutch discs in proportion to the engine torque, so softer clutch springs can be used. This in turn means that less force is necessary to operate the hydraulically actuated clutch – it has a sensitive single-finger action
Borrowed from Formula 1, the forged piston structure gives the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s pistons maximum resilience despite an extremely low and lightweight design. This design minimizes the oscillating masses, achieving optimum engine response. Furthermore, the piston skirts have a state-of-the-art, hard anodized finish. Not only does this reduce friction, it is also particularly hard-wearing with consequently a positive impact on durability.
LED CORNERING LIGHTS WITH INTEGRATED LED INDICATORS The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is the first motorcycle in its segment to feature standard LED cornering lights. Comprised of three LED segments each, the light units are mounted on both sides of the tank and connected to the lean angle sensor of the MSC system. Depending on the lean angle, one, two or all three segments of the cornering light on the inside of the curve light up additionally to the main headlight, always giving the rider the perfect view to where he is going. Integrated in the cornering lights are the LED indicators, for a unique and exclusive look. Well deserved in a bike like this.

ENGINE The extremely narrow, fourvalve-per-cylinder engine of the 1290 SUPER DUKE GT is among the lightest big twins in the world, developing no less than 173 hp of maximum power and 144 Nm of maximum torque with its electronic engine management, ride-by-wire function, dual ignition and selective mapping. These values are identical to those of the “Beast”. However, for the application of the LC8 power unit in the sports touring 1290 SUPER DUKE GT the KTM technicians have made the impossible possible. They developed new cylinder heads, they modified valve timing and they optimized the mappings to realize even more refined engine run, even more homogenous power output and even more rounded performance curves. For example, no less than 114 Nm of torque are available at 3,250 rpm only. Thanks to these lots of low-end torque, plenty of mid-range punch and breathtaking maximum power, combined with remarkable refinement and incredible smoothness, the upgraded engine covers the complete bandwidth that could be expected of an extreme sports touring bike, from enjoyable cruising to all-out mayhem

The 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s highly modern DOHC four-valve cylinder heads with improved combustion chambers and with dual ignition deliver a significant contribution to the outstanding performance of the LC8 engine. Via separate, newly developed mappings, the dual ignition controls the sparks of the two spark plugs per cylinder Head independently from each other, achieving an efficient combustion as well as a smooth combustion cycle. The results are more power, more torque and more refinement, lower fuel consumption and fewer emissions than a single ignition. The four valves of each cylinder head are actuated by two overhead camshafts via DLC-coated finger followers. Nitrified exhaust valves minimize wear and allow for extended valve play inspection intervals – one of the prerequisites for the new SUPER DUKE GT’s service intervals of 15,000 kilometers.

Pirelli’s motto “We sell what we race, we race what we sell” At the end of 2016, Pirelli introduced the new high grip and better mileage Diablo Rosso III tyre, the Rosso II's successor, using its 12 years experience and technology at providing racing tyres for the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) Pirelli applies the racing technology on Pirelli Rosso III and has been developed to improve racetrack handling as well as wet and dry performance for everyday users. We took out our normal tyre Diablo SuperCorsa SCV2 SC1, off our "Hoonigan" (MT-09) and install the Rosso III for a ride to Hatyai, Thailand, 550km away during the Raya holiday, but was changed last minute. So instead decided to do a 2 route test for the Rosso III approx. 500km ride to test the grip of the Rosso III in the wet & dry conditions. We did a similar test on a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R fitted with Rosso II and while riding back from Fraser Hill, a heavy downpour came in the way of our journey back to KL, even while taking the tight, twisty soaking wet bends with ease. So I’m quite confident that Rosso III will retain the same predictable and wet grip character if not better.
Being a brand-new tire on a wet morning didn’t exactly give me the confidence to hunt for a kneedown at the sight of a corner. But after break-in, the tyre around 50km, the Rosso III gives me the confidence to increased my corner speed, and giving me greater confidence to tip in to the corner faster and faster. The taller, more aggressive profile made the motorcycle yearn to be tipped into the corner faster and faster, though it wasn’t an intimidating tipin speed during wet but able to get the stable feel in the corner. Transitions from left and right corners is where the profile of the tyre really impresses with its ability to slice from one side of the tire to the other without the moment of uneasiness or any slides at 35% on the throttle at a Sunday ride. The morning downpour made the roads to Ulu Yam to Gotong Jaya through Batang Kali a little wet…. but just nice for Ulu Yam route, not so wet not so dry and we were ready to tackle the twisty route to Batangkali and Gotong Jaya then straight to Bukit Tinggi, with full confidence, like a Supercorsa, I even took left route up and down, then right route up and down. Clocking almost 210km mileage. The Rosso III uses a new profile to gain a quicker handling. The multi-radius design features an increased profile height and width of the tire; this not only allows for faster changes of direction but also stability at maximum lean. For the front Rosso III also boasts a 3mm-larger sidewall designed to increase grip under acceleration. With balance in mind, Pirelli designed the rear tire with similar profile changes to allow the tires to work in synchronization with each other. The Rosso III also features the distinctive “flash” tread pattern found on Pirelli’s DOT race tires. Added to the “flash” are additional grooves on each side of the tire for extra water drainage comparing with the Rosso II, however, the tires have 9.5 percent fewer grooves on the front tire and 7.5 percent fewer grooves on the rear tire. Pirelli claims this allows more rubber to be in touch with the ground, resulting a grip increase of 30 percent.
review Next day also in the wet morning, took “Hoonigan” to test at Kuala Kelawang for another clocking another 200km via Ulu Langat route. I joined another group of riders to Titikong, for breakfast. In the morning wet patches was still visible at the Ulu Langat route but not a single time the Rosso III feel any sliding on the wet patches. But maximum lean, the Diablo Rosso III front tire had grip to finish the corner but lacked the end confidence/inspiring feeling! But maybe I’m not use to the tyre character yet. The added improvements to the Rosso III is in the form of new compounds. The front tire is constructed of a single 100 percent silica compound claimed to improve warm-up time and grip in all riding temperatures. The rear tire promotes a unique bi-compound construction to ensure both performance and longevity. Each side of the tire contains a 100 percent silica compound, while the remaining center portion of the tire is made of a lesser 70 percent silica compound. This combination allows the rear tire to have the performance on each edge but also achieve straight-line stability and 30 percent more mileage for everyday users. Pirelli uses a bi-compound construction in the rear tire to help achieve mileage as well has handling performance. The yellow compound consists of 70 percent silica while the red compound is constructed of 100 percent silica. The Diablo Rosso III made an immediate impression on me with its quick warm-up time and easy to pick up the front without snaking the rear even when the tyre is cold. Do remember, however, it is a street-oriented tire, it may have come from the same technologies as Pirelli’s full-blown racing tires, but it isn’t meant to chase lap records at the track.
“Stiff feeling” is certainly a word to describe the rear tire but not in a negative way. The tire seemed to flex just enough to provide grip but not enough to create a pumping feeling from the rear end of the motorcycle. The front tire’s story is similar but not quite at the same level. The Rosso III front tire had grip to manage braking and cornering but seemed to lack in feel. At full lean the tire failed to give feedback for me to have complete trust in. Front and back tyre pressure was 34psi. Dropping it to 30-32 I got a better feel especially on wet surface. The tire is more than capable to hit a local trackday, but blurring-fast laps may be out of the question. The Rosso III is certainly one to look at if you are in the sport tyre market. The Diablo Rosso III is made in various sizes to fit the majority of popular sportbike. I will also recommend to sport touring bikes as Pirelli claim Rosso III have an excellent mileage. I haven’t reach there yet, but so far so good makes me the confidence to go the longer distance.

With the historical name like Africa Twin, the Honda CRF1000L will go to the Adventure market by putting forward the term “SIMPLICITY� as its strength. We got a chance to review and see how good the Africa Twin stack up against its continental competitors.
A bike that sprang from the Rally, and more specifically from the Dakar Rally, where Honda have won several times the production at 650cc and continue until 750cc which ended in 2003. Many have changed since then, most notably the adventure category has boomed with full loaded with goodies. With technical level: how many horses, how much electronics, how much engine settings, ABS system, electronic or non-suspension, adjustable or nongelatine, projectors, rails, suitcases; much more. Here comes Honda Africa Twin with a 94 hp by 1000cc, no electronic mounts, no adjustable windshield, but with "dirt wheels", without the numbers or features I guess you will still fall for the Africa Twin. Focus on using the practicality, riding comfort, traveling long distance and enjoying the fun in the sun. An adventure bike for everyday use. Even I’m not so tall, lifting the Africa Twin on its stand with ease even it weighs 218kg. We found out that the seat height can be lowered lto 850 mm
from 870 and if you want it lower, there is a lower saddle that reaches the height of 810mm
Finding an Adventure Route When I open the throttle and do not feel any lag but a smooth and very comfortable ride from the 94hp bike which can do "little of everything." Daily travel, travel comfort, off-road capabilities, and more sporty, fit for all tastes. While the 218 kilos, you do not say a little, it's quite light for the category, and it makes the ride between the cars in the traffic, relatively easy and comfortable in the normal adversity of the city. Weight is the "key," and this Honda will accelerate with explosion of power, just like giving you a mild adrenaline rush. The extremely convenient riding position puts me in perfectly ergonomically, with the controls contributing to this, enabling you to control the Africa Twin with minimal effort.
Simplicity in its grandeur After a long-term warm-up of the audience through teasers, spy photographs, patent pending, charts, drawings and rumours, Africa Twin finally returned. No 750, not a Vengine, just like the previous XRV Africa Twin 750. The acronyms have also changed and does not rely on the old ones

Once again, you will meet the smooth engine of a Honda and as an ally in ground handling, since its excellent low-speed operation makes Africa Twin very easy on every route.
Speed in 1st gear ratio reaches 85 km/h, the second 130km/h, the third at 160, the 4th at 196, the 5th at 212, the 6th at 225km/h. Definitely a bike to travel around especially to long border rides, the Africa burns close to 4.7 4.8 liters per 100km, this figures is particularly impressive for the speed im travelling. The most demanding, however, you will need to change different gears to get a better response to the throttle opening.
Curve and torque I always love Honda’s smooth engine in the low torque, while positive vibe when opening the of the throttle, without bumps after the middle of the corner. You need to understand it is an engine without many features, which does not seem to match the aggressive style of the new Africa. This is because it does not respond to what you might expect from a liquid-cooled parallel twin 1000cc. Riding the Africa Twin

construction is generally high.
Twin though various routes, open highways, rocky terrain, provincial streets and in the city, I find many positive things that predominate so that eventually will win you. The first thing you see is that the engine is so smooth that in the throttle opening, Africa does not spin. It even yields so linearly to the middle turns of rotation that makes you wonder what you need Traction Control. The electronic traction loss control system adjusts in three stages, from the switch we usually make to the left switch. It turns off completely, all on the go, while the information is transmitted in a "bar" format, on the main negative LCD screen.

Marc Marquez has won the German MotoGP for the eight consecutive time in all classes after a surprise challenge from homeboy Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Jonas Folger. Folger showed no sign of nerves as he passed the Repsol Hondas of Marquez and Dani Pedrosa to sensationally lead the early stages of the race. The German rider was the only rider capable of sticking with Marquez when the reigning champion returned to the front, the pair pulling comfortably clear of Pedrosa. Folger only lost touch with Marquez after running slightly wide in the closing stages.
Movistar Yamaha riders Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi both worked their way forwards after a poor (wet) qualifying, but couldn't get near the podium places. Marquez now takes over the world championship lead by 5 points heading into the summer break...
