Julian Sebastian ďƒ&#x; Julian Sebastian, though have been riding for 10 years on normal daily commute, and the occasional speed rides on the freeway, learning to ride technically on the track with the right coaching can help an amateur rider push to the max ride speeds, cornering angles, that is within the limits of the bike's performance. this may be hard and dangerous to achieve on the public roads and without proper technical guidance. Roger has a simplistic approach to riding techniques that he has mastered over years of experience. he's able to transfer the knowledge efficiently , thus giving riders the confidence of achieving riding techniques that may have once seemed impossible.

ďƒ&#x; David Tucker. Although I have been riding motorbikes since 1975 (43 years in UK, Australia and now Malaysia) my philosophy is that you should never stop learning. So, I take every opportunity to learn and especially from others that have greater knowledge and skill than I have. When I saw the ad for the I-Moto course I made contact with Roger and immediately booked myself on to the course. With the course being run on a go-kart circuit, it has the immediate benefits of good road surface, no distractions of potholes, oil, blind corners, cats, dogs, monkeys, pedestrians, cars/trucks/buses etc so you can concentrate on the learning and practicing of the riding skills. I found the course well structured, starting off with the basics of bike control through to the theory and practice of going around corners correctly and being able to pick the correct line for the various corners. After the course I have been on a 5 day ride into Thailand where I was able to put the knowledge gained from the course into practice, I found that I felt much safer and more confident on the bike going in to corners and was very surprised how much faster I was going and leaning over further. I will continue to attend these courses to improve my riding skills and therefore improve my personal safety on the roads. Many thanks to Roger and his team for a great course.

YZF-R1 blurs the line between MotoGP and production superbike like never before.
Theory classroom combine with on track practical We got to test the Yamaha YZF-R1 for few session last weekend and I realise just how good this modified R1 for track day is. Still it’s a 2016 YZF-R1, but I can’t believe it when the R1 electronics kicks in and makes the R1 pretty easy to handle on a Go Kart Track, we only manage to get to 4th gear. Almost in every corner on 2nd gear, only a little pump on the throttle, the WSBK spec Akrapovič exhaust rear will slide. And you can feel the Traction Control kicks in! 1st session I was riding in A mode and boy it was fun! Open the throttle get on the Brembo brakes and turned it hard into the first corner and I was zooming and sliding away from the rest. Only thing is I can open full throttle on the bigger Sepang Circuit. But this is no ego trip, it’s testimony to how good the Yamaha R1 feels, the faster you ride it, the more rewarding the R1 becomes. Superb handling with Traction Control

The MT-10 was on top of our naked bike list to review, and a year on, we finally got it and for a full week! We always been accused of being a Yamaha fan and obviously of this model. The Yamaha MT-10 engine with the legendary inline-4 crossplane (CP4) crankshaft (270-degree firing order) 998cc motor is derived from the new YZF-R1 superbike. With outstanding chassis, suspension, and comfortable ergonomics, this is what makes the Yamaha MT-10 so ridiculously addicting, and fun for me. This MT actually fun to ride as the MT-10 has crazy low down power but monstrous mid-range that rips the bike out of corners
and usually with the front wheel in the air adds a whole other dimension to power riding and I can say its scary fun! The high-energy, hooligan temperament does not make it difficult or feels like a nervous machine. For an expert-level motorcycle, the MT-10 is balanced, forgiving, and actually very user-friendly; it can be ridden pleasantly and modestly if that’s your mood for the day. That throaty, droning exhaust note fools me into thinking the motor’s not revving that high. In reality, the engine spins up to its almost 12,000 rpm redline rapidly, and makes power all the way.
Of course, as a hyper naked style motorcycle, the riding position is very upright, and Yamaha has it tuned for mid-range power and the engineers hit it perfectly with this one. Despite having ridden this bike extensively, the motor’s sheer grunt from just about any speed was still a very pleasant surprise this time around. I had simply forgotten how much punch the MT-10 160hp engine delivers. The upside of this insanely quickrevving torque monster is that the MT10 leaps off corners in almost every gear. If you get even a bit enthusiastic with your right wrist in the lower three gears, the front wheel will come off the deck with ease. Powering out of corners is a joy and, because the Yamaha MT-10 is beautifully balanced in the handling, the light front wheel isn’t in the least scary but will keep your wits alert, just cover the rear brake if you can, the MT-10 is probably the easiest to wheelie streetbike I’ve ever ridden. If you juice the throttle over 4.5k rpm in first gear, the front comes up quick. The downside of the incredibly willing motor is a somewhat snatchy throttle on initial opening—a behaviour it inherited from its sibling, the MT-09, but just not as snatchy. On the tightest twisting roads with lots of first- and second-gear exits, the throttle just a little over-reactive to input. Coupled with a slight hole in the power on initial throttle application, but the MT-10’s humongous power fairly wears off as I give a more throttle.
i-Moto
We done a lot of riding. So we know exactly what we want. Serious power with cornercarving precision. And natural ergonomics that mean we can ride anywhere on any road. Ride the Ray of Darkness with the MT-10. Driven by a 998cc crossplane engine tuned for extra low to mid-range torque - and rolling on a lightweight ultra-short wheelbase aluminium Deltabox chassis with a natural riding position - the MT-10 gives you ultimate power with class leading agility and total control.
The mode switches are simple and can be done easily on the fly with the mode button next to the throttle as I started in B Mode because it had rained heavy when I was collecting the MT-10 from Hong Leong Yamaha, and the roads were wet, even the B Mode was pretty powerful and gave me a glimpse of the MT-10s full power and allowed me to unleash my inner hooligan, yet at the same time it tamed that throttle enough to make a smooth ride through those slow corner exits. B Mode is essentially a rain mode that brings both the aggression and power down substantially enough to completely tame the MT-10 in low grip conditions should you need it.. Driven by a 998cc crossplane engine tuned for extra low to mid-range torque - and rolling on a lightweight ultra-short wheelbase aluminium Deltabox chassis with a natural riding position the MT-10 gives you ultimate power with class leading agility and total control.
Advanced Digital Control The MT-10 features a range of systems powered by YCC-T®— a ride-by-wire throttle system that provides exceptionally precise engine control. D-Mode allows the rider to select a preferred engine response at the flick of a switch. A Traction Control System (TCS) assists the rider in managing rear tire traction on various road conditions The MT-10 also includes cruise control for improved highway cruising comfort. I won’t criticize Yamaha too roundly for this as they do have all the bases covered with three very distinctive fuelling options. I like having those aggressive throttle openings should I want it, and I’m especially okay with it since the option of B Mode is always there to sanitize things if desired. I hardly spend on Standard Mode, except in heavy traffic. Most of the time I was in A Mode Incidentally, the quick-throttle effect in A Mode essentially disappears in third gear or higher; in slightly faster corners there is no issue, and hitting that aggressive throttle response hard in faster corners is the reason I love riding powerful sportbikes, then again it’s not a sportbike!
Torque-rich 4-cylinder 'CP4' crossplane engine YZF-R1-derived engine, chassis and suspension Tuned for strong, linear low to midrange torque YCC-T, D-MODE and TCS Traction Control System Fully adjustable high specification suspension Multi-function LCD instruments Dynamic mass-forward silhouette Lightweight aluminium Deltabox main frame High specification ABS brakes with radial callipers Short 1400mm wheelbase for classleading agility Upright riding position with forward lean
i-Moto The spectacular motor is nicely partnered with a stable chassis and high-quality fully adjustable KYB suspension. The suspension is firmly sprung and well damped, so the MT-10 tracks through corners extremely well. Bumps are also absorbed easily. When I got the MT-10 I found out after riding for a day that the tyre pressure was low just only 20psi and I taught it was the front forks was soft so I did the rebound +2 clicks and increase the tyre pressure to 32psi for the front and rear 34 psi. That made the handling superb, but rebound now was abit harder, on flat road it was fine but on bumpy road I had to be a bit more cautious as now it was a bit hard for my riding style. But the 43mm fork is wonderfully comfortable and riding ergonomics is ideal for any rider, the absolute confidence in the front . Overall, the MT-10’s handling for any kind of street riding, (that is with the right tyre pressure and suspension setting) is almost perfect, as the MT-10 turns in rapidly and yet it stays stable through the
• Aggressive Ergonomics and Styling The MT-10 displays raw aggression from every angle, with upright ergonomics that perfectly balance sport riding feedback and relaxed comfort. Hightech LED lighting and an all-LCD instrument panel boost both style and function.
corner. Transitioning from maximum lean angle and whipping over to the other side is simply a matter of asking; the MT-10 is fast reacting and it feels light and flickable.
•
Advanced Digital Control The MT-10 features a range of systems powered by YCCT®—a ride-by-wire throttle system that provides exceptionally precise engine control. D-Mode allows the rider to select a preferred engine response at the flick of a switch. A Traction Control System (TCS) assists the rider in managing rear tire traction on various road conditions.
The MT-10 fully radial brakes are powerful enough to bring the MT-10’s 210kg curb weight down from speed when you need it to, and without any unpleasant sudden initial bite. However, compared to (say) the amazing brakes on the R1, the MT-10’s stoppers are definitely weaker and can get a little spongey when used hard. If you’re a demanding rider who likes pin-sharp braking, switching out the stock rubber lines to steel braided and adding a more aggressive pad will help things dramatically. Although in stock form there’s some room for improvement performance-wise, there is still plenty of feel at the lever, and the ABS is there to help if an emergency gets you in over your head.
Interestingly, oddly even, Yamaha positions the Hyper Naked MT-10 as a potential sporttourer. This is a motorcycle that is probably the most capable unfairing sportbike on the street today, the result is actually pretty sweet for any buyer. Full Gas!
The lack of riding range is a little tougher to deal with. The gas tank holds just 17 litres. The MT-10 only returns 7.8 litre per 100km in “normal riding”. The snag is that for any MT-10 pilot, normal riding versus aggressive hooliganism where you’re leaning close to the asphalt twisties and the front wheel off the ground for most of the time. The MT-10 doesn’t just tempt me, it literally begs me to ride it that way. Impulse control was never my strong suit, and the MT-10 takes full advantage of that. Unfortunately, that kind of behaviour does not result in 7.8 litre per 100km and once the adrenalin rush has faded and subsided, you will find yourself sweating for a different kind reason. You’ll be looking for a gas station every 150km or so. It’s all good We were to own one, fuel consumption will not be a problem!
i-Moto
At the end of the day, the Yamaha MT-10 is an absolutely superb, firmly committed sportbike that happens to have upright, comfortable ergonomics. The MT-10 is so confidence inspiring it is incredibly easy to ride very, very fast. It is so well balanced, it is possibly the easiest to wheelie streetbike I’ve yet ridden. It handles brilliantly through corners fast and slow, and it will smear big broad rubber tire stripes on corner exits if you want. A happy birthday present that lasted 6 ½ half days isn’t that bad considering, but those who can own one, I can be sure to bet, you won’t be able to get the MT-10 for a ridiculously reasonable price, but in reality, the Yamaha MT-10 is one of the very best motorcycles available today for real-world sport riders who want massive, all-round performance in an amazingly friendly package. Dang, we absolutely love this bike, all I can say is that 1 week isn’t enough, but no news yet, if Hong Leong Yamaha will bring in the MT-10 to Malaysian market, but previously Motorcycle Sales Centre did bring in a few units that was priced at RM109,000! That time was excluding 6% GST too.

Despite experiencing problems with his Kawasaki’s fuel pump at the tail end of the opening race, Azlan, who competed under the banner of Chia PJ Motor Kawasaki Racing, convincingly won the 12-lap
contest; beating India’s Rajini Krishnan by more than 11 seconds to the chequered flag. In a wet Race 2, Azlan remained dominant; winning the 12-lap contest in 29 minutes 21.778 seconds; finishing 20.246 seconds ahead of second placed Mohd Ramdan Rosli of TOC HKM Racing Team. Serrapica took third place. “Naturally, I would like to thank Chia Motor my sponsors and my team crew for a sensational season. I would also like to thank the SIC’s marshals for their good work in ensuring that the riders can enjoy our competition and the racing experience,” Azlan, who finished the season with a massive haul of 227 points.

It was another master-class display by the Championship leader Marc Marquez, who took the first MotoGP win in Thailand in front of a cheering, enthusiast crowd of more than 100.000 spectators. Marc’s seventh victory of the season is also the 68th of his career, putting him equal with Jorge Lorenzo as the fifth-most winning rider across all classes. It was a hat-trick weekend for the Spaniard, who earned pole position, set the lap record and earned the victory. Last three lap was indeed spectacular, Marquez sliced his way through at Turn 8, but Dovi snapped straight back at Turn 9. It was déjà vu a lap later as the Repsol Honda grabbed the lead into Turn 8, no way through for the Ducati this time at Turn 9, but a pass into Turn 12 was made to stick heading onto the last lap. The chosen corner for a Marquez assault was Turn 5 – a great move from the six-time World Champion with Dovizioso unable to squeeze back under at Turn 6. This set
us up for another final corner epic between the two. Dovi got the run off Turn 11 to brake late into the final corner to get alongside Marquez, but the Desmosedici couldn’t quite drop its anchors quick enough – Marquez cutting back underneath Dovi to win the race to the line. Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Maverick Viñales finish +0.270 away in third and Valentino Rossi secured a strong fourth place.

This allowed the clever youngster to get into the mix, but it also meant that the pursuing field inched closer.

i-Moto Hafizh Syahrin showed an amazing performance at the hot Chang International Circuit. Launching his 15th MotoGP race from P18, he found an impressive rhythm after the first laps and passed one opponent after another.
The Malaysian newcomer to the premier class kept his fast lap times until the finish line to earn the laurels for the best rookie, plus four important points in the championship.
“I’m really happy to be back in the points. In the beginning of the weekend, FP1 until Qualifying, I was always in P18, so I felt a bit disappointed to myself, but I never gave up. I was really working hard with the team and they believed in me, which is what I needed. In the beginning of the race, my bike was overheating. The oil temperature was too hot and I didn’t feel the power of the bike. I tried to understand and try to think what I can do, so I decided not to use any slipstream because the bike was so hot. So, I first
passed Nakagami and thought I can catch up with Morbidelli, I passed him and then I tried to keep the rhythm. I was really consistent. But still, I need to work hard in the next rounds and try to get closer to Morbidelli again. Now we made two points on him, but it’s still five to go, so we have to try to be in front of him for the rest of the season. Now we start to believe in our capacity, the bike worked well, I chose the right tyre and overall, we were working very well. I’m truly happy.” th

Fun Sportz is the official GoPro distributor gave us an opportunity to test out the GoPro new flagship Hero 7 Black action camera. The Hero 7 Black, which replaces the now discontinued Hero 6 Black, comes with new ‘Hypersmooth’ electronic image stabilization, improved audio, live-streaming to sites like Facebook, and a fancy new time-lapse mode called ‘TimeWarp’. The Hero 7 Black currently has the best incamera video stabilization in any action camera we ever used. Gimbal like stability without a gimbal!. I tested most of the features and functions during the GoPro Hero 7 preview at Sunway Lagoon, the Hero 7 Black looks identical to its predecessor from the outside, but in the
hardware terms, the only real differences are its new black paint job and a redesigned microphone membrane, which apparently provides more natural bass tones and brighter mids.
There are five new features, compared to the Hero 6 Black. The biggest one is what GoPro is calling ‘Hypersmooth’ stabilization, which is a souped-up version of the electronic image stabilization we saw on its previous flagship and now works in its 4K/60fps mode. Its still digital rather than optical stabilization, though GoPro claims it’ll let you capture gimbal-like video “without the expense or hassle of a motorized gimbal”. Hypersmooth has a new time-lapse mode called TimeWarp. This is similar to a standard timelapse, where the camera takes still photos at regular intervals then plays them back to give the impression of a scene being played in fast-forward. Only this time it adds smooth stabilization to let you create firstperson “magic carpet rides” through journeys like bike rides. The Hero 7 Black is also the first GoPro that can live stream. You can be able to live stream to sites like Facebook, and YouTube.
i-Moto And the final two changes are a new ‘SuperPhoto’ feature for stills and a refreshed UI. ‘SuperPhoto’ is GoPro’s attempt to replicate the intelligent auto modes which can automatically recognize scenes and apply the right camera settings. In addition to recognising scenes, GoPro says the Hero 7 Black will be able detect faces and smiles, and intelligent enough to clear some wrinkles on the face when you smile. The User Interphase (UI) tweaks are relatively minor, but include a new ‘short clips’ button for limiting the length of recordings to 15 or 30 seconds (in case you want to pass the camera round to others without the fear of filling up your memory card) and these designed are based on data, GoPro’s collected about how people use its cameras. Took a bit time to get use to the UI. Aside from these new features, the Hero 7 Black’s specs are largely unchanged from its predecessor. It uses the same size sensor and lens as before, and records video at similar bit-rates. It can also shoot 12-megapixel photos (in HDR and Raw), is waterproof to 10m, and can record slo-mo in 120fps or 240fps at 1080p. We were put to the test to capture our day at Sunway Lagoon and use the GoPro Quik app to come out a 1-minute video. Verdict: Great new features Hypersmooth TimeWarp! With only this feature, I will run to the camera store and get one 7 Black! plus the gimble like stabilization probably never will have a bike review that is jerky and shaky anymore even I mount it parts that are vibrating! So go get one!

MXGP made a third visit to Italy this year as the famous ‘Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari’ in Imola staged the FIM Motocross World Championship for the first time. A hard-packed, compact and jumpy course lay over the final section of the asphalt track provided a mix of bumps, ruts and generous air time for the riders of the MXGP and MX2 classes. Late afternoon sunshine complicated some of the visibility but also warmed a packed attendance at the facility located in the town’s ‘park’ to see the MXGP project and who were able to witness the sixteenth ‘double’ by Red Bull KTM in 2018. Jeffrey Herlings’ assault on the statistics of 2018 continued at Imola. On Saturday the new world champion topped every session and ran to a thirteenth Qualification Heat victory. The Dutchman had maintained his strict training schedule since his title spoils at Assen two weeks previously. He overtook Tim Gajser and sprinted clear in the first moto on Sunday and offered a repeat showing of his superiority in the second. Herlings has now reached a staggering 84 career wins just after his 23rd birthday and has won the last eight in a row with his works KTM
450 SX-F. He has claimed 17 of the 20 rounds in 2018, gracing every MXGP podium apart from the one event he missed (the Grand Prix of Lombardia at Ottobiano in the wake of collarbone surgery). Herlings has totalled 33 moto wins from a possible 38 and went 1-1 in 15 of his 17 triumphs. 2018 runner-up, Tony Cairoli, had the attention and acclaim of his home crowd but the Sicilian struggled on the final raceday of the season. A crash during the qualification heat on Saturday meant he suffered with a painful lower back and right hip. #222 finally took the difficult decision to sit out the motos.
