Honda is known for conservative styling, but base on the stunning concept, the production CB1000R is a looker, and certainly out of character for a Honda model. It isn’t strictly a retro, or a replica of a past model. It is a big step outside the box in terms of design for Honda. Launched in 2007, Honda CB1000R is the street version of the CBR1000RR Superbike. However, the new-generation nakedbike-style 998cc inline-four engine motorbike has a mix of nakedbike and
classic styling. Honda introduced the CB1000R Neo Sport Cafe at Sepang December last year. We got to test it on the Sepang Circuit for a couple of laps. But this road test we had the CB1000R for 2 weeks. The appearance of Honda CB1000R 2018 makes the difference compared to the majority of sport bikes models on the market. The elegant lines and the LED light in the shape of the horseshoe help to enhance the classic design.

The steel frame and aluminium frame are new features of Honda CB1000R Neo Sport Cafe 2018. The frame material helps to reduce weight by almost 2.5 kg compared to the previous generation. But the Honda CB1000R Neo Sport Cafe
still uses the older generation 991 CB1000R engine, although it is slightly improved. Honda keeps the same diameter and piston stroke of the 4-cylinder DOHC engine but increases the compression ratio and the piston is harder.
i-Moto While the Honda CB1000R Neo Sport Cafe offers a range of new electronic components. The bike has four driving modes, including Standard, Sport, Rain and User, a custom option. This CB1000R also offers customers the ability to customize three levels of engine power, engine braking and traction control. The alloy wheels is harmonious with the new style design. The tire size of Honda CB1000R Neo Sport Cafe is 190/55. Honda
has also increased the height of the handlebars but bars in length is shorter to help the rider sit upright and to be more comfortable on long trips and easy through traffic. With the new Showa suspensions are customizable but no compression set up only rebound. Honda CB1000R Neo Sport Cafe can be view at all Honda BigWing.

PURSUING DREAMS! Soichiro Honda said, ‘We only have one future, and it will be made of our dreams, if we have the courage to challenge convention.’ Honda’s philosophy in dreaming of a better world for people catalysed the invention of the ASIMO, HondaJet, NSX and the legendary Africa Twin. Dreams can be powerful, they push you to achieve more, to explore new ideas, new technologies and uncover new ways of solving problems. It takes independent thinking and audacity to pursue dreams. It also takes passion and innovation to never allow the dream to die and to shape them into a reality for the modern day world.

The i-Moto i-RideClinic has many things to offer from throttle control all the way to a knee down to relax and confidence riding, as a rider ourselves, we believe when it comes to rider training, you can never have enough when it comes to motorcycle riding. Every rider has one or two bad habits especially when it comes to a deeprooted fear of falling and crashing. We aim to address the fear by sharing essential riding skills with our fellow riders. Most of us fear the unknown and after all, we as motorcyclists don’t often get the opportunity for guided riding sessions at the limit; the limit here that is, our machines and our minds. Our 30 years of riding experience helps improve rider’s skills with the do’s and
don’ts which then used to make the riding experience safer and more enjoyable. But that’s just not all that, and i-RideClinic instructors provide plenty of feedback to help each student become a better, faster and most importantly a safer rider. Roger Chia started i-RideClinic courses back in Aug 2016, and have conducted over 30 riding clinics which have benefited over 400 riders. i-RideClinic modules are designed to be a bridge a trackday experience at a smaller Kart Track while improving open road riding skills and prepare for a trackday experience on a big circuit like Sepang International Circuit. Team PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ rider, Ahmad Afif Amran, has officially been declared as the 2018 CP150 Champion at Round 9 of the 2018 PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship. The team's coveted Team Award, however, will have to wait until the season finale in Johor next month. Afif made a clean getaway at the start of the 20lap race from pole position while his biggest rival, Kasma Daniel Kasmayuddin got stuck in the second group behind Mohd Fitri Ashraf Razali and Azroy Hakeem Anuar. Up in front, the PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ rider wasted no time in pulling a comfortable gap in front of the group. By Lap 4, Afif was about 2.6 seconds in front. An aggressive move by Kasma on the same lap saw him overtaking both Fitri and Azroy to put himself in position to start chipping away at Afif's lead. Kasma caught up to Afif's tail on Lap 18 and another daring move by Kasma almost sent Afif out of the race. The Terengganu-born rider, however, was able to regain his balance and resume his race. As Kasma picked up his fourth win of the season with 14'58/587s, Afif was content to cross the finish line in second place with 14'58.966s. Behind the two main rivals of the 2018 season, Azroy Hakeem Anuar picked up a rare podium for Honda in third place with 15'05.163s.
Afif's ninth podium of the season has effectively ended the title hunt in the CP150 class. The Terengganu rider's has brought his points haul up to 200 points to date while Kasma is second overall with 161 points. Unfortunately for team PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ, their ambitions to wrest the CP150 Team Award from PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor Racing went unfulfilled in Bandar Sri Jempol. The team's second rider, Hafiz Nor Azman retired two laps from the end of the race.
The season finale of the 2018 PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship will be held at Bandar Sri Penawar on December 15 and 16, 2018.

ELECTRONICS
The ‘mule’ benefits from the Triple’s ECU, with a race map and increased rpm (14,000rpm), plus its fly-by-wire throttle. There’s no traction control, but the package features a Triumph blipper and shifter. A bespoke wiring harness has also been made for the bike. In race trim, the Moto2 bikes will run with control-spec Magneti Marelli ECUs.
FRAME The main frame and swingarm are Daytona 675-derived. The only real changes to standard setup are special rear wheel spacers to accommodate the larger Moto2 rim, and a 1° sharper headstock angle to help the bike steer a little sharper. To save weight, the rear subframe is also bespoke. The rear shock’s K-tech and the stock Daytona forks have been uprated by the same brand’s race cartridges.
FAIRINGS Triumph have nabbed a set of existing Moto2 carbon weave items for their ‘mule’, keeping weight low and helping to mirror the profile teams are familiar with. Along with additional bracketry for fixing, a channel had to be fabricated to link the air scoop to the stock airbox.
ENGINE The stock Street Triple 765 motor has been kitted with titanium valves, race-spec valve springs, a raised compression ratio and a lighter generator to help the motor spin faster. The heads are also ported, the injectors are higher flowing and the first two gears have been given taller ratios. On the ‘mule’ the stock ECU has been altered to allow for a 14,000rpm ceiling, helping to produce in excess of 135bhp and 80Nm of torque. The finished Moto2 spec engines will also incorporate an FCC slipper clutch.
WHEELS AND BRAKES Forged magnesium Oz wheels reduce precious unsprung weight and allow a wider 190profile rear hoop. The Nissin radial monoblocs are the same as the Daytona’s, being coupled to the stock master cylinder and lever. For added oomph Brembo Z04 pads have been thrown into the mix.

THROTTLE CONTROL
KNOW YOUR…
Easy wheelies.
DominoQuickActionThrottlestosee howtheywork,whattheydo,andifyou shouldhaveonefittedtoyourbike…
What does a quick action throttle do? Ultimately, it changes the ratio of movement on the twist grip assembly to the reaction at the injector or carburettor end. Effectively you’ll be getting more bang for your back as you twist the grip! It’s especially effective on more recent models; a lot of the newer bikes are so powerful, there’s an incredibly wide range of movement to help if you’re a bit hamfisted, essentially meaning you need to twist the grip further to open the throttle. Sometimes that means you’ve almost got to dislocate your wrist, whereas our systems come in at just a quarter turn, making life much smoother for the rider. It helps to make riding easier, especially if riders are
susceptible to fatigue and arm pump, as it’s less stress on your muscles. Are they adjustable? Yes, absolutely. For example, the cams for our most popular model, the XM2 quick action throttle, which is used in Moto2, come with three different sensitivity rings. These rings adjust the ratio in which the throttle moves, as the cable is mounted in slightly different positions and routed slightly differently. It essentially makes the throttle either more or less sensitive to movement in the throttle – as an example the smallest ring will give 2.6º per millimetre of movement, whereas the biggest is 2.9º for each millimetre of cable travel.

After unveiling a brand new Katana concept at EICMA in 2017 that teased us all, Suzuki have finally pulled the pin and made the dream a reality for2019. Essentially, under the skin of the gorgeously reworked body the Katana is a modified version of the GSXS1000, using the same 2008 GSX-R1000 engine as the previous naked which has been tuned to give just under 150 hp although there’s a few
slight changes to the geometry of the throttle connection to make the Katana as smooth as possible from the get go. The same goes for the frame, which is once again based on the current GSXS1000; although a little fun fact is that it does only weigh about the same as what you’d find on the current GSX-R1000. Suzuki have equipped the Katana with fully adjustable KYB
front forks and shock as well, alongside the ever popular Brembo radial mount Monoblock front brake calipers for some decent braking power. They’re the same stoppers you get on the GSX-R1000, although the discs are slightly smaller at 310mm. Electronically, the Katana comes equipped with a three-mode traction control system (and off), alongside the Suzuki Easy Start System for one touch start up and the Low RPM Assist system to try and help you not to stall. They’ve also equipped it with an LCD dash. They’ve kept the styling pretty retro with the distinctive shape still evident, and although there isn’t word yet of when they’ll be in dealerships and what the price is, we expect them to be hitting the Malaysia some time around April with a price of around about RM60k….Ish.
