The Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors® recently presented the 2023 Industry Partner of the Year Award to Gwen Goins with Prosperity Home Mortgage.

Gwen has nearly 40 years of experience in mortgage origination. She served as the 2023 Chair of the KCRAR Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and is involved with Habitat for Humanity, the KC Community Land Trust, and the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (NAREB). She frequently volunteers her time to speak at educational events for agents and consumers.

Gwen is committed to making a positive impact both in the lives of her clients and in her community. She is especially passionate about coaching first time buyers, giving them all the support and guidance needed to find the right mortgage options and educating them about available resources for down payment and closing costs assistance. She also coaches buyers on steps they can take now to get ready to purchase a home down the road.

“I believe home ownership is key to building generational wealth. It’s important to make sure there are opportunities for all home buyers, no matter what their

background is,” she says. “Buying a home can be stressful, especially for first time buyers. Sometimes you have to be a teacher, counselor, or pastor, but my goal is to make the process as easy as possible.”

That process begins with getting pre-approved for a mortgage. Gwen tries to have buyers submit all financial information and get through underwriting before ever making an offer on a home. That way consumers can shop with confidence and there are no surprises, ensuring a smooth closing.

Gwen also spends quite a bit of time in various real estate offices, partnering with agents to find the right options for their clients.

Homes will range in price from $265,000 to $2.65 million and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Even as housing costs rise, KCHBA member builders are working to build homes at lower price points. There are 14 homes on the parade at or under $400,000. These homes feature modern designs and generous curb appeal while maximizing space and maintaining comfort within a smaller footprint.
