Miracle Minute raised over $300! LTGs getting pied

Volume 5 Issue 10 May 29th , 2013

Joint May DCM A great start to the mostly sunny Memorial Day weekend, the Joint May DCM between divisions 26, 27, 28, 32, and 33 featured delicious food, games, fundraising, and the meeting of both old and new friends. This DCM attracted several times larger the usual crowd, and occupied a large portion of Renton’s Gene Coulon Park. The DCM started off with a potluck, followed by divisional meetings. Elsewhere, attendees participated in fun icebreakers, hung out, took photographs, or played Frisbee, tennis, volleyball, and football. During the Miracle Minute, which raised money for various Kiwanis charitable programs and causes, attendees raised over $300 in bills and spare change, enough to send whipped cream at the LTGs’ faces, and them into the lake. Although many of them left Coulon smeared with cream and sopping wet, after all, it was for a good cause!

MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR Dear Key Clubbers, Welcome to the tenth issue of the bulletin of this Key Club year! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing long weekend, and got to enjoy some of the volunteer events and local festivities. If you didn’t come to this DCM, be sure to attend the next one, as Garfield will be hosting it! Also, we will be selling senior roses until June 4th, so be sure to buy a rose for a senior friend. I know it’s near the end of the school year, but it’s never too late to get involved. We have new volunteer events coming up in early June, and you can always help out by taking photos and volunteering to be interviewed for Member Spotlight! -Reanne Wong
