Garfield HS KEY CLUB The Official Newsletter of James A. Garfield High School Key Club, Division 26

September 26th, 2013

Signing up for Events Ok, you’re registered and ready to get your volunteer hours! But how do you sign up? 1.) The easiest way to sign up for volunteer events is to sign up under the physical signup sheet after the lunch meeting ends. If you have any questions about it, you can ask an officer then and there! 2.) For those of you who have Running Start or miss a meeting for whatever reason, leave a comment with your contact info and the event name and shift time and name under the Event Sign-up Sheet on our Facebook group. Please don’t edit the doc and let us know if you registered with the club under a different name than your FB account name. 3.) If Facebook isn’t really your thing, there is an updated calendar of all our events on our website. Contact us through there to sign up!

MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR Dear Key Clubbers, WHAT? FREE FOOD? Yes, there are perks that come along with being a Key Clubber (free food, free t-shirts, awesome events, new friends, the list goes on...). But it’s only possible if you get involved and dedicate some of your time towards helping others! We have two volunteer events for this month, as well as a September DCM kickoff this Saturday. As you can see from the cover, we held a bake sale and raised around $90. Thank you to those who helped out!  Hopefully you can all pitch in and support our fundraising efforts throughout the school year and over the summer. We need all the help we can get! Also, a major aspect of being a Key Clubber is the spirit! If you’re still not getting the Key Club cheer, take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hS0t0HxTGc -Reanne Wong
