Key Clubbers helped brides-to-be pick from a selection of preowned wedding gowns at the Brides Against Breast Cancer charity event at the Arctic Club Seattle. The proceeds of this bridal show makes it possible to deliver free information and services to thousands of children and adults impacted by cancer.
MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR Dear Key Clubbers, Happy February! Thankfully, the grueling week of finals is over. Hopefully, you have all settled into your new classes and are looking forward to the new Key Club events and the fact that District Convention 2014 is less than two months away! Are you excited yet? Last week, we elected officers for the following positions: Emily Wong – President, Reanne Wong – Vice President, Lynda Nguyen-Treasurer, and Cindy Lam – Fundraising Chair When all the officers for the 2014-2015 year, I will include more information so you all can get to know them better. The speeches for secretary will be made today, so the results should be out soon! Also, according to Philip’s newsletter last month, the DCM is supposed to be on February 8th. I haven’t received any details about it yet, so I will let you know once there is more information! Reanne Wong

UNCF “A MIND IS” GALA February 22nd (Saturday) Shifts: 6:00pm-10:00pm Location: EMP Museum (325 5th Ave N) This event benefits the UNCF Pacific Northwest Scholarship Fund and the UNCF Campaign for Emergency Student Aid. Please remember to wear your auction apparel.

YWCA INSPIRE LUNCHEON February 15th (Saturday) Shifts: 10:00am-2:00pm Location: YWCA Seneca (1118 5th Ave) Unleash your creative side and help assemble centerpieces. A light breakfast and lunch are provided. Limit of 10-15 volunteers. This event is on the same day as the Search for Meaning Book Festival, which you cannot drop out of once you’ve signed up.

Each year, the Pacific Northwest District gets together to celebrate the year of service, elect the new executive district board, meet other Key Clubbers in the area, and learn about new service opportunities at District Convention (DCON). This is an amazing opportunity to become more involved with Key Club, and is one of the most FUN events of the Key Club year! To attend, you must be a registered member in good standing. New members are required to have performed 30 hours of community service with Garfield Key Club; returning members are to have 60.
