T LEVELS We are excited to announce that in addition to our Diplomas, Tech Baccs and Apprenticeships, from September 2022 we will also offer T Levels in a number of courses.

What are T Levels?

T Levels are a new qualification for 16–18 year-olds, introduced by the Government to give you more options to gain those essential workplace skills and experience. These exciting programmes are the equivalent of A Levels but with the addition of a substantial work placement and are key to the Government’s ambitious programme to provide the technical expertise for the jobs of the future. They offer a mix of classroom learning and ‘on-the-job’ experience which includes a substantial industry placement of at least 315 hours.

Why should I study a T Level?

These new qualifications, which take two years to complete, have been designed with industry experts to provide you with the skills employers are looking for. They will enable you to thrive in the workplace while giving businesses the workforce they need to succeed. As well as gaining technical knowledge, practical skills and workplace experience specific to your industry, you’ll also learn relevant maths, English and digital skills. When you complete your T Level you’ll get a nationally recognised certificate which will look great on your CV!

Am I suited to studying a T Level?

T Levels offer a technical route into your chosen industry and would be a good option if you’re looking for an alternative to a purely academic A Level route. If you don’t have the entry requirements for a T Level, you could study a Level 2 T-Up transition programme.

What T Levels will Reaseheath offer from 2022? • Construction: On-Site Construction You will be able to choose a specialism from Carpentry and Joinery, Plastering or Bricklaying and also cover relevant topics such as health and safety on site. You’ll work with local employers who have contributed to the course content and delivery of training, ensuring you have exactly the skills they are looking for. • Engineering and Manufacturing: Maintenance, Installation and Repair This is a great option for you if you want to work in the motor vehicle industry, as you’ll develop a technical understanding of the primary and auxiliary systems of a wide range of vehicles along with the industry experience so appreciated by employers. • Business and Administration: Management and Administration You’ll gain a good grounding of core business knowledge and be able to choose a specialism. Your college study, along with your work placement, will prepare you for a great career whatever type and size of business you choose. Land-based T Levels offered from September 2023 include: • Land-based Engineering • Animal Care and Management • Equine Care and Management • Livestock Production • Tree and Woodland Management and Maintenance • Crop and Plant Production • Floristry • Ornamental Horticulture and Landscaping • Habitat Management (Land and Water) For more information, please visit reaseheath.ac.uk/t-levels
