Keynote Q&A: Caroline Cromar, Group Director of Food, Pret A Manger Make sure you arrive early for Caroline’s keynote at lunch! 2016, as it’s sure to be standing room only. In anticipation of her live interview on Thursday 22nd September, we asked Caroline a few questions about her take on the food-to-go market. What do you see as key trends for the food-to-go market in the next year? Healthy eating will continue to rise in popularity, allowing room for a little indulgence on the side. How important are trade shows like lunch! to you and Pret? lunch! is an important date in the diary for Pret. It allows us to meet new brands, see new innovation and work with potential new suppliers. We're always excited to attend. Have you seen changes in the way consumers purchase their food-to-go in recent years? Technology is changing behaviours. Contactless payment has been a big change along with new methods of ordering food evolving all the time. Speed is important.
Join Caroline Cromar for her keynote interview at lunch! in Keynote Theatre 1 at 10.45am on Thursday 22nd September.
Rory will share his experiences at lunch! on Wednesday 21st September. Here he answers a few of our questions to give you a flavour of his upcoming keynote. What do you see as key trends for the food-to-go market ? While street food and pop ups have given customers a greater range to choose from, the challenge for brands will be to offer enough variation to keep the busy customer interested. The food-to-go market will need to balance new ingredients with regular seasonal changes in order to satisfy consumers. How important is lunch! to you and Benugo? lunch! is integral to Benugo as it allows us to open our eyes to new innovations and ideas. It’s a great opportunity for us to be inspired and it undoubtedly helps us evolve and offer an ever better experience for our customers. Have you seen changes in the way consumers purchase their food-to-go ? With greater customer demand for higher quality products, we have seen a shift in purchase behaviour with a move away from packaged products such as sandwiches and wraps, with customers opting for our ‘made fresh while you wait’ deli sandwich offering. Customers are looking for quick options but are prepared to wait longer to have a fresher and better value for money choice. Come and hear more from Rory at lunch! in Keynote Theatre 2 on Wednesday 21 September at 11.15am
