Russian Color Laser Cartridge Market for 2014
Russian Monochrome Laser Cartridge Market for 2014
The Information Agency “Business-Inform” has completed the evaluation of the color laser cartridges market in Russia for 2014. Regarding the brands, leaders on the Russian market are: HP (59.35% market share in units), Xerox (21.9%), Konica Minolta (4.77%), Kyocera (3.25%), Samsung (3.00%), Epson (1.86%).
The Information Agency “Business-Inform” has completed the evaluation of the monochrome laser cartridges market in Russia for 2014. Regarding the brands, leaders in the Russian market remained the same: HP (45.92% market share in units), Xerox (19.07%), Samsung (11.94%), Canon (6.94%), Kyocera (5.26%). Regarding the cartridges the top ten looks the following - HP Q2612 (10.08% market share in units), HP CE285 (6.65%), HP CE278 (4.96%), HP CE505 (4.52%), XEROX 106R01159 (3.50%), XEROX 106R01374 (3.49%), Samsung MLT-D205 (3.41%), HP CB436 (3.29%), HP Q5949 (3.27%), HP Q7553 (3.14%).

At the same time, more and more of the Russian market share is “captured” by Xerox (2011 – 10.0%, 2012 – 12.45%, 2013 – 14.44%, 2014 – 21.9%).

The undisputed leadership of the HP Q2612 cartridge on the Russian market has begun to gradually decline: (2011 – 15.1%, 2012 – 13.4%, 2013 – 12.0%, 2014 – 10.08%). At the same time, more and more of the Russian market share is “captured” by HP CE285 (2011 – 1.85%, 2012 – 3.88%, 2013 – 5.28%, 2014 – 6.65%), HP CE278 (2012 – 2.03%, 2013 – 3.78%, 2014 – 4.96%) cartridges. HP, Canon Top Best Picture Printer Chart HP and Canon are the leaders in a ranking of the best photo printers on the market today. HP is featured with three models, and Canon with two. Beside these two, Epson is also going strong, with two entries on the list, containing a total of eight printers. The last entrant is Kodak. HP is featured with the following three models: Photosmart C310A, Envy 100, and DesignJet T120 ePrinter. While the first two offer a variety of print sizes, the last one is specifically targeted at professions that need wide-format printing. All three offer excellent color resolution, and offer PC compatibilities.
Canon is represented on the list with the following two printers from the Pixma line: MG6220 and iP100. The first one can be used either at home or at the offic, and can print directly from the Internet. The second is a mobile printer resembling a laptop, which has a reasonably fast printing speed and easy paper handling. Epson’s models featured on the best picture printer list are Stylus Photo R2880 and PictureMate Charm PM225. According to the authors of the ranking, the Stylus Photo R2880 is the best choice for photography professionals, with an eight-color palette and a maximum print width of 13 inches. The second model offers quality at the expense of speed, with the added benefit of waterproofness. Lastly, there is the Kodak ESP C310. This is the affordable picture printer that does not, however, compromise print quality or speed. In fact, the ESP C310 is a multifunctional, so besides printing it can also double as a scanner and a copier.

IDC Finds OEM Vendors Pulling Share from Third Party Vendors for Ink Cartridges in Asia/Pacific Singapore and Hong Kong – IDC finds that the printer consumables market in the Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ) region declined 0.5% sequentially but increased 4.0% year-onyear to reach US$1,729.65 million in Q4 2014. Out of the total consumable market, third party brands contribute nearly US$392 million, which is approximately 23% of the total value. The Asia/Pacific market is witnessing decline in shipment of ink cartridges and as a result revenue of ink cartridges has declined as well. However, laser toner market still recorded growth in revenue. "Looking at the inkjet space, OEM vendors have launched inkjet hardcopy peripherals (HCPs) which offer more page yield at low cost of print per page (CPP). This strategy has helped OEM vendors as low priced original ink made third party ink products a less attractive option. As a result, the overall shipment and share of third party products has declined. However, this strategy has also affected ink revenue of OEM vendors as high yield ink cartridges are economic as compare to standard cartridges," says Pankaj Chawla, Research Manager for IPDS Research at IDC Asia/Pacific.
Moving forward, IDC believes that laser toner market will witness intense competition between OEM and third party products. Though OEMs are losing share as a part of total unit shipment, their share in revenue is still over 60%. Third party vendors are focusing on growing their revenue by launching high end products (color toners, high speed HCPs). Third party vendor are also changing packaging of their products to target developed market and quality cautious commercial enterprises. These better packaged products are also helping third party vendors to sell their products through modern retail and also through online channels. 3D Printing Still Far From “Printer in Every Home” Stage Consumer-level 3D printers are being sold not only to households but to companies as well, new research from IDTechEx has found. In fact, in the $2,000 price category which is where most consumer-level 3D printers belong, only 50% go to households, and the rest are used in labs, workshops, and offices. Of course, the education sector is also a major buyer, and printer makers are aware of this, increasingly targeting schools with their products. Yet, IDTechEx is not too optimistic about the future of consumer-level printers. To begin with, they are not affordable enough. Besides, consumables are costly. Third and last, the main purpose these machines are being used for now is, as IDTechEx puts it, “miscellaneous tinkering”. Based on this, the firm predicts that the current jump in consumer-level printer sales will slow down sharply, from the 100% in the last couple of years, to 20% in ten years, with schools and the professional sphere accounting for the bulk of sales.

3D Systems Underperforms in 2014, Management Optimistic 3D Systems, one of the market leaders in the 3D printing industry, did worse than analysts and investors expected last year but, according to its management, it is on the right track to sustained growth. In a conference call regarding its full-year financial results, chief executive AviReichental said that the company’s North American operations in particular were below expectations, with organic growth slipping to just 7% in the final quarter of the year. Following this, 3D Systems will restructure its operations there, aligning them with its Asia-Pacific business in order to repeat the success it is having in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As for organic growth, 3D System’s management believes investors and analyst shouldn’t focus too much on it. While the company did worse than expected in this respect, it is working on a long-term strategy to expand its installed printer base globally, sowing the seeds of sustained growth in the medium to long term. In the near term, that is, this year, 3D Systems expects its gross profit margin to climb. It also plans to improve its operational efficiency, and ultimately expand its market share.

3D Systems Expands Global Reach 3D Systems has made a concerted effort to expand its market share by growing its international distribution network. In addition to a partnership with Canon Europe, under which 3D Systems will sell a range of printers in the UK and Ireland for starters, the company has also joined forces with Henry Schein, a health product distributor focusing on office-based medical, dental, and animal health practices. Amazon Goes Into 3D Printing on the Go Beijing Vows to Support 3D Printing Sector The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said it has committed to boosting the 3D printing sector in the country by setting up an industry association and several research and development centers across the country. The purpose is to make Chinese 3D printing companies’ products and services marketable abroad, and set them on a more equal footing with international competitors. According to the ministry’s projections, the industry should swell by as much as 30% next year, with a special focus on 3D applications for the aviation sector.
Canon Joins Forces with 3D Systems, Enters 3D Printing Field Canon’s European branch has closed a distribution partnership with 3D Systems to market and offer maintenance services for the 3D printer maker’s products. The project will first be rolled out in the UK and Ireland only but plans are to expand it to the whole continent. The focus will be on 3D Systems’ range of printers for rapid prototyping. According to Canon Europe’s chief, JeppeFrandsen, the partnership will add to Canon’s extensive technology portfolio and will utilize its expertise in sales and maintenance. For the company, this partnership is a new market opportunity from which customers will also benefit. The new service goes live at the start of March.

E-retail major Amazon has filed a patent application for a new product delivery system that will see customers’ orders being printed while on the way to their address. In other words, Amazon’s trucks will become mobile printing centers, with a 3D printer in them, which will significantly reduce shipping times and will eliminate the need for warehouses and the related personnel. This will result in greatly increased cost efficiency and at the same time increase customer satisfaction, Amazon says. This is not the only instance of innovative thinking at Amazon. A couple of years ago, the giant wanted to start delivering orders to customers using drones but the US Federal Aviation Administration prohibited it as it is against regulation for corporate entities to fly unmanned aerial vehicles outside the vehicle operator’s line of sight. Amazon is now probing other countries where it could launch the service.
Formlabs Partners with Chinese Distributor 3D printer maker Formlabs has closed a partnership with Xi’an Elite Robotics, a Chinese distributor of high-tech products across the Asian country. The company is the first official distributor of Formlabs’ machines in China, and it will also offer maintenance and repairs services. According to Formlabs, the partnership will ensure that its Chinese customers get the same high level of service that customers elsewhere enjoy. Formlabs’ flagship product is the Form 1+, a stereolithographic machine praised for the high definition of the prints, precision, and attractive design. The Form 1+ can be used by engineers for prototyping, as well as by artists for their designs. It has already won several awards for the quality of work it offers.

Dubai to 3D Print Museum The Dubai authorities are planning an ambitious project for the construction of a museum of the future, using 3D printing technology. The museum, which will have the shape of an oval ring, will feature innovations, smart solutions for the future, and labs that will educate visitors about smart cities, future healthcare, energy, and transport. To keep things fresh, the museum will change its contents once every six months entirely, making sure they display some aspect of life in ten years. CTC Electronic Launches New FDM Printer Chinese CTC Electronic has launched a new fused deposition modeling 3D printer with a dual nozzle and touch screen, dubbed BizerIII. With a price tag of just $1,300 (including a $100 discount), this new Bizer has a steel frame for enhanced stability, combined with transparent acrylic “windows”. The main new feature, however, is the dual nozzle, with printheads that have been aligned in a bid to provide for smoother printing. Regarding size and specifications, the Bizer III is 12.6x18.3x15 inches, has a maximum print space of 11x5.7x5.9 inches and can use plastic, rubber and wood as print materials. CTC Electronic has ambitious plans for the future. It will gradually expand its product portfolio to target new markets, including biotech, aeronautics, defense, and digital entertainment. It is also growing its global reach. The company recently announced it will be opening an office in London, to spearhead its European expansion.
Stratasys Continues as Good Investment Opportunity Despite a significant drop in its share price over the last year, Stratasys, one of the market leaders in 3D printing is still a good investment opportunity. This has become clear after it reported financial results for 2014. Revenue for the entire year was $750.4 million, a 54% rise over the prior year. The net result was negative, at $119.4 million, or $2.39 per share. For the fourth q u a r t e r, r e v e n u e stood at $217 million, up 40% on the year, and the net loss was $92 million, substantially higher than the $2 million loss posted for the last quarter of 2013. However, Stratasys also reported organic growth of 26% for the final quarter of 2014, a good indicator for investors, who are now less willing to make high-risk decisions, seeing as Stratasys’s stock crashed 52% from its 12-month high of $130.83. Still, with analysts forecasting the company’s earnings will grow at an annual rate of 20% over the next five years, a decision to invest in Stratasys stock may not be that high-risk after all.

Xerox Launches Gold, Silver Inks Xerox announced it has introduced two new dry inks that will work with its Color 800i and Color 1000i printing presses, in gold and silver metallic. The company boasts it is the first to offer silver dry ink “at rated speed”. This new feature will allow printers using the presses to leave foil stamping in the past and move to digital production of fancy invitations, business cards, and the like. In addition, the two presses can also make spot or flow effects with clear ink, lending additional texture to a wide range of prints.

HP Shaping Up as Leader in PCs, 3D Printing HP’s recent announcements of two new products are indicative of the company’s ambition to get to the number one spot in the computer and 3D printing sectors and there is a good chance that it will succeed, if not in revenues, then in terms of trend-setting and pointing the direction in which all sector players should head. HP’s Sprout, although, according to early reviews, not really fit for ordinary, nonexpert users yet, has introduced a novel concept of an interactive 3D environment that will most likely spread to other products of the company and beyond. It features a 3D space interaction system that is the future of computing. HP is smart to launch it ahead of competitors, giving itself space to experiment. Also in the personal device segment, HP is launching a line of business-focused tablets to encourage companies to start investing in them. So far, although the bring-your-own-device trend has exploded, businesses seem unwilling to invest in tablets for their employees. So, HP is making special ones, to be used specifically in a corporate environment, in a specific market.

HP Reaches Out to SMBs HP has launched a new product line specifically targeting small business whose available space is limited. The line for now consists of two models, the Color LaserJet Pro M252 and the MFP M277. “The printers are so small that they can fit in the shell of the previous models from this line,” says PradeepJotwani, senior VP of HP’s LaserJet and Enterprise Solutions business. In addition to their size, the two printers feature HP’s ColorSphere toner, which melts at lower temperatures, ultimately saving money from lower energy bills. As for performance, both printers can yield up to 19 pages per minute, at a definition of 600 x 600 dpi. Wireless connectivity is available in both models, and the M277 also doubles as a scanner and copier. The two printers will hit markets next month, with prices to be announced then.
Epson Launches Replaceable Ink System for SMEs Epson announced it will start marketing a new replaceable ink pack system (RIPS) designed specifically for small and medium enterprises to allow them to cut their printing costs significantly. The company dubbed the new product revolutionary and said it demonstrates what the future of printing will look like. The system works with Epson’s WorkForce Pro R5000 and R8000 product lines and, according to the manufacturer, the printers can yield as many as 75,000 pages, both monochrome and color, before the ink has to be replaced. Cost savings per page could reach a staggering 80% of the cost per page for an equivalent laser printer. What’s more, the new system is much more economical and hence environment-friendly. The RIPS works with Epson’s Micro Piezo technology, which uses only around 30% of the power other printers use. In addition, due to its durability, the RIPS reduces the need for storing a lot of printing consumables and eliminates the necessity for recycling used cartridges.
Epson Launches Three New WorkForce Inkjets The MultiJetFusion machine, on the other hand, represents HP’s foray into the very attractive sector of 3D printing. It is actually part of a larger project, the OpenJetFusion platform that will encourage interaction between participants, perfecting the technology. While the MultiJetFusion printer is aimed at high-end, professional users, some observers expect the tech to trickle down into HP’s lower-end products, as so often happens with innovative technology.

Epson is starting to market three new inkjet printers from its WorkForce product line, targeting businesses that need their space and cannot afford high-end printers. Two of the new models, the WF-2651 and WF-2661, are equipped with the PrecisionCore Technology, allowing for a productive marriage between speed and quality. The third one, the WF-2631, is perfect for freelancers or contractors working from home or a small office. The WF-2661 is also the first Epson printer to offer near-field communication capabilities. Additionally, the three printers feature an automatic document feeder, Wi-Fi connectivity, and Epson Connect, which features mobile printing, email printing, and printing via the Internet.

The M651/680 series of multifunction color laser printers are based on a 45 ppm black and color 1200 x 1200 Dpi engine, 4800 DPI with RET. The cartridges are an all in one type cartridge that consists of the toner supply, drum, and waste chamber. The M651 and M680 share the same black cartridge, but use different color cartridges. The method to remanufacture them all is the same but the colors use different chips and have different yields. 参加 2015 年土耳其、泰国、尼日利亚展会 可获最高 3.5 万元政府补贴 日前,参照国际通行做法,依据《中华人民共和国中小企 业促进法》和《中华人民共和国对外贸易法》规定,由国务院 批准设立了中小企业国际市场开拓资金。中小企业国际市场开 拓资金用于支持中小企业参加境外展会、认证、国际市场宣传 推介、开拓新兴国际市场等活动。 该项政策是一项针对中小企业发展的促进政策,按照“公 开透明、定向使用、科学管理、加强监督”的原则,有力支持 中国中小企业开拓国际市场、参与国际竞争、降低经营风险。 2015 年 4 月土耳其国际办公耗材展、9 月泰国国际办公设 备耗材展、11 月非洲尼日利亚展等展览会均属于境外展会,参 展的中国企业可以享受中国政府提供的这一资金补贴。 参展企业在确认参加此展后,应及时向当地外经贸部和地 方外经贸主管部门提前提出申请。财政部和地方财政主管部门 负责审核企业“市场开拓资金”预算,在审核通过后负责资金 拨付,并对资金的使用进行监督。

Enforcement Regulations for Government Purchase Law Good for Compatible Consumables Enterprises
供应商称《政府采购法实施条例》 有利于通用耗材企业发展 经国务院审议,2015 年 3 月 1 日,《中华人民共和国政府采购法实施条例》 正式实施。耗时十二年方成功面世的《条例》引起了多方密切关注,那么业界专家 和供应商们又对此有何看法呢?

《条例》出台是一件非常高兴的事。之前《政府采购法》可能对专家评审的权利、 义务、责任等法律规定不明确,《条例》针对实践中评审专家违法评审现象,专门 对评审专家设定了相应的法律责任。在细化、完善法律责任方面有了极大的进步。 《条例》中还明确了采购人科学合理确定采购需求的责任。《条例》在政府采 购法规定的基础上,进一步细化了采购人、采购代理机构、供应商等主体的违法情 形及法律责任,使责任追究有法可依,也是未来进一步改革的方向。

期盼已久,现在依法治国,我们集采机构第一件事就是集中学习,贯彻好、执 行好、落实好,现在正抓紧修订招标文件。虽然迟了,还是有用的,之前政府采购 法要求公布政府采购结果,但并未要求公开政府采购合同,公众、未中标或者成交 的供应商无法了解政府采购合同的全部内容,此次条例要求公开采购合同,将大大 提高政府采购信息透明度,强化公众对政府采购的监督。 集采机构分段实施明确,机构设置不合理就违法,也是对我们过去工作的一种 肯定。公布预算、结果、单价、合同,增加了透明度。出台制度在具体工作中规定 了方向,具体需要配套制度。但现在集采机构形势变化,期待更完善的法律。 《条例》还规定,项目信息必须公开;政府采购项目信息应当在指定媒体上发布; 采购项目预算金额应当在采购文件中公开;中标的单一供应商名称必须在指定媒体 上公示。此外,采购文件、中标、成交结果、采购合同也必须公开。 《条例》中着力强化优化政府采购的政策功能和调控功能,通过一系列具体和 尽量细化的规定,更好的做好政府采购。
