Coffee with a Cop builds community, police connections By Nadya Korytnikova The Citizen
The Berlin Police Department hosted a Coffee with a Cop event, for the first time this year, on Wednesday, May 26. Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to meet with police officers in an informal space and discuss community issues, the department’s work, or any other questions residents may have, all while enjoying a complimentary cup of coffee. Over four months, the team removed all invasive shrubs, such as burning bushes, and barberry bushes, as well as plants that were past their prime. The removal freed space for native species and reduced the amount of invasive spread, said Kensington Garden Club President Paula Archacki. See Project, A9

Mayor Mark Kaczynski thanked the participants. “This park is kind of a centerpiece of Berlin, probably the busiest intersection in town, so it’s great it finally looks good,” said Kaczynski.
