Lomaglio running for mayor

Sam Lomaglio, a Republican endorsed by the Democratic Town Committee, is running for mayor.
The two-week Joseph and Anthony Manzi Foundation Summer Band Camp culminated with a concert for family and friends July 8 at the Berlin High School auditorium. A 1998 BHS graduate, Joseph Manzi was killed in a snowmobile accident in December of 2002. He was an avid musician and a member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department. “We’ve got a lot of work to do in the town of Berlin, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves,” Lomaglio said. “My philosophy is that I put people first and my ego aside. I believe the people of Berlin are the most important people.”

ranks first in Berlin hoops history in career field goals (488), rebounds (829) and blocks (113) and second in points (1,267). Also, the forward/center, was twice named to the Hartford Courant’s Fab 15 list and was a four-time All-New Britain Herald pick.
A member of the BHS Class of 2010, Zarotney enjoyed volleyball, but her favorite sport was basketball. And she excelled on the hardwood.
“She competed like no other and did it with style and class,” Berlin coach Sheila King said. “She is the gold standard of athlete that the program to this day uses as an example and role model.”
