Vaccine clinics get underway
Get cozy with this winter reading list
The Chesprocott Health District held its first COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Community Pool, Jan. 2, and more clinics are on the schedule as the district rolls out its plan.

You can never have enough books. Conversely, there is never enough time to read. Luckily, if you adore books, the long winter months are a perfect time to catch up, dive into the books you may not have had time for and those new releases you look forward to getting your hands on in 2021. The staff from the Cheshire Public Library was happy to help round up a list of their favorites. A few recommendations also come from the New York Times, Good Reads and CPL Bloggers. First to the favorite books enjoyed by CPL staff. Standouts in adult fiction include “The Giver of Stars” by Jojo Moyes. It’s based on the New Deal’s true-life story of Kentucky’s Pack Horse Librarians. Another CPL fiction favorite is “The Lost and Found Bookshop” by New York Times bestselling author Susan Wiggs, and a thrilling crime mystery, “All the Devils are Here,” by Louise See Reading list, A6

Libraries offer virtual book clubs By Jessica Simms Special to the Record-Journal
As a way to continue connecting patrons through literature during the pandemic, area libraries are hosting virtual book clubs.
Cheshire Public Library All three of the monthly book clubs that met in person before the pandemic have now moved to Zoom.
“Fiction and nonfiction, not necessarily new things, brand new things,” said Deborah Rutter, deputy director. “Just a variety reflecting the taste of both the group and the person who organizes it.”
The clinic was hosted by Walgreens and available to both the independent living and long term care residents.
The Cheshire Art League Book Club is run by Carol Constantine, a member of the art league, and focuses on artthemed books.
This month, the town will start its vaccination program for first responders. The school district intends to roll out its vaccination program for staff around the time of the February break. The vaccine will not be mandatory

Elim Park received the first doses of the Pfizer vaccine last week, beginning the process of getting residents and staff innoculated. Elim Park officials said the plan is to get the first dose of the vaccine to nearly all residents and staff over the next few weeks.
