Freda selected to lead regional council

North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda has been unanimously selected by his peers to serve as chairman of the South Central Regional Council of Governments. This marks Freda's secFreda ond term as chairman, having first held the position in 2015. The South Central Regional Council of Governments is dedicated to regional cooperation enabling cities and towns to work together to accomplish projects they cannot do as efficiently or cost effectively by themselves, creating a sense of pride in the region by aspiring to the highest quality of life and economic well being that can be achieved and greater accountability through voluntary cooperation in the region with productive results that benefit the entire region. NORTH HAVEN — The owner of a behavioral health company faces over $100,000 in fines after officials said he made false claims about having a licensed provider for treatments. Neil Quatrano, owner of Behavioral Management, LLC, entered a civil agreement with state and federal agencies and will pay more than $100,000 in connection with the allegations.

CHESHIRE — The label of “high risk” is off the national high school sports table. So is “moderate risk.” So is “low.” The categories that have been used to gauge the risk of COVID-19 spread among high school sports — and shaped

decisions on which sports would play and not play — have been abandoned by the National Federation of State High School Associations. The NFHS, which oversees high school sports associations across the country, including the CIAC, announced Tuesday afternoon that its Sports Medicine Advisory Committee has revised the COVID19 guidance that has been in place since last May. Quatrano has a bachelor’s degree in social work, but is not a licensed behavioral health provider in the state, the release said.
