Fair season in Connecticut runs from late August to early October, during which time some 20 com munities welcome crowds for a few days of revelry.
Along with the traditional wine and beer tasting, the Day of Wine, Roses, and Brews 2022 will feature an international food fes tival, with 35 local restaurants participat ing.

“It has been an incredible couple of years,” DeLauro said, “with the unbelievable health care crisis we haven’t seen in a century. We saw loved ones in the hospital, loved ones who may have passed away, businesses shut down, people who lost their jobs, schools closed, kids were at home learning remotely. Our childcare in dustry almost came to a crashing halt, not only in this state but all over the country, people faced with the high cost of health care, housing, education, and struggling. People were on the economic edge before the pandemic and what the pandemic did was to throw them right off the cliff.

A few days before the meet ing, he and Burkett-Thomp son contacted longtime friend Tyreece Gary, a graphic artist with New Haven’s TLG Artistry. The three have attended the same church, United House of Prayer for All People, and played in a band, “The Kings of Harmony,” for years.
“Kris had a box with him,” recalled Gary, who created the Eat Up logo and the label on the Gorilla Lemonade bottle. “He said he was going to meet up with some peo ple in a few days and he needed a design.
