Market. Plastic film Packaging.
Plastic industry is a huge market with interannual growing rates of 3-4%
Low recyclability and littering are the main concerns. BUT, it is a PENALIZED SECTOR that is DEMANDING recycling SOLUTIONS.
VALUE CHAIN: Becoming Aware EUROPEAN COMISSION
FINAL CONSUMER
Legislators and final cosumers started to become aware of the plastic pollution problem.
BRANDOWNERS:
Looking for environmentally friendly packaging solutions
RETAILERS:
Big brandowners and retailers feel the commitment to find ways to reduce plastic global contamination and demands solutions to converting companies.
Started the research to find ways to use recycled plastic in automatic packaging in 2011. Create Cadel Deinking, a new company focused on R&D joined with University of Alicante. 1 plant sold and 1 operating for demonstrations
THE PROBLEM: Post industrial printed waste in printing Companies. rPI Printing -
Printed scrap diverted during manufacturing process. (10 % of the production)
-
Will have only one extra life if we don’t deink it because will be downcycled as a garbage bag due to the ink.
-
WASTE (10%)
Bag-Making
RECYCLING COMPANIES
The original material has Declaration of Compliance (DoC).
DOWNCYCLING
LOW ADDED VALUE PRDUCTS
The solution: To remove the ink of plastic surfaces. rPI
Cadel Deinking, has developed a process that allows to remove the ink of plastic surfaces.
DOWNCYCLING
With this technology, Cadel deinking has found a brand new recycled high quality LDPE suitable for automatic packaging applications. Since Cadel Deinking holds the patent worldwide, right now it is the only company able to supply this product, although we are ready to reach agreements with Brand owners , printing companies and petrochemistry companies for circularity in plastics.

Reasons to start to use deinked Pellets.
ECONOMICS
- Recycled films and bags obtained perfectly compete in price compared to the traditional ones made 100% virgin
TECHNICAL
-The quality of the deinked LDPE allows to be used in high quantities
ENVIRONMENTAL
- Promote circular economy instead of downcycling - Deinked material emits 5 time less co2 footprint than virgin one
MARKETING
-Can use the claim “ECO in your packaging
LEGISLATIVE
- 2030 all plastic packaging has to be recycledrecyclable under european legilation.

This plastic can´t be used in high % cuotas in automatic packaging applications due to the glue on the stickers can´t be removed in convencional recycling systems becouse it clogs the reprocesing filters.
-
Can/Should/Must include obsolete stock films from Nestlé even if the qtties are “small” to avoid downcycling.
-
We can assume that the original material has DoC

OUR COMPANY CADEL OPEN DAYS Last 4th, 5th and 6th December, we celebrated the first Open Days for Delaminating and Deinking technology at CADEL DEINKING facilities. During this event, we demonstrated the operation of a plant, which allowed the visitors to understand the D&D process.
More than 62 companies from 26 different countries around the world attended, showing their interest in the plant. Also high-level speakers showed their vision on circular economy.
