Welcome to the Cambridge City Art Fair! Thank you for coming to the inaugural Cambridge City Art Fair, what we hope is an exciting addition to the international art fairs calendar. It brings a fantastic selection of respected UK and international art galleries and dealers to the Guildhall, in Cambridge, at the very heart of this beautiful city. We are proud to present the fantastic selection of art galleries and dealers taking part in the fair, each of them showcasing an impressive variety of high quality work from their portfolios of represented artists from UK and around the world. Their combined knowledge and experience will ensure that you are able to find the perfect piece of art to suit you and your needs, even if you don’t know what you are looking for yet! There will be high quality modern art from the early twentieth century, all the way through to challenging, contemporary work by some of today’s leading international artists at a range of prices. Many of the exhibitors offer leasing packages for businesses and others participate in the Arts Council ‘Own Art’ scheme, so you can pay for the art you love by instalments. Local Artists, such as the world-renowned Sculptor Laurence Broderick from Waresley and Cambridge-based Sculptor Mel Fraser will be represented at the fair, alongside many established UK Artists, such as Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst and Sir Peter Blake and many more besides from all over the world. It was two years ago that we embarked on this journey to create an high-quality, international art fair in the centre of Cambridge. But, you know what they say, ‘time flies when you’re
having fun’. And it really has been fun organising this art fair, and nerve-wracking and exciting and a million other things too. We shall be eternally grateful to the 35 exhibitors for placing their faith in us to put together this event. We hope we have done justice to the wonderful art they are bringing to Cambridge. Our thanks also go to our amazing sponsors, partners, staff and volunteers. Without them all there would be no Cambridge City Art Fair. Thank you all for helping to make sure that Cambridge City Art Fair 2013 is a success. We hope you enjoy our event and all of the beautiful paintings, photographs, sketches and sculptures contained within. Craig Kerrecoe, Event Director 3
The Mood Of The Now by Laurence Broderick Art and architecture always go well together and Cambridge, with some of the most beautiful and recognisable architecture in Britain, is now host to a fantastic display of modern and contemporary art by some of the best artists from Britain and abroad at the inaugural Cambridge City Art Fair 2013 in November. During the four days of the art fair, the experienced galleries and dealers who represent these artists and sculptors will present art of such quality and variety that they will not fail to stimulate the minds of the visitors, whatever one’s taste. This is a first for Cambridge city- to experience so much wonderful and diverse art from so many places around the world- here in one place, the Guildhall, at the same time. This is surely an opportunity not to be missed. Man’s ideas reflect the mood of the now.

Artists interpret and express their thoughts in so many different ways, not only in paint or bronze, but with a multitude of other materials and ideas. Art makes life so much richer, especially when acquired for our homes, offices, churches and landscapes. I know that the Cambridge City Art Fair has been in development for a considerable period of time- a great deal of effort has been spent by the organisers to attract dealers and galleries with excellent reputations to show their portfolios here in Cambridge. I do hope you enjoy the art fair and find a new piece of art to enrich your life.
Laurence
