Healthcare For All
ECENT years have seen a proliferation of healthcare facilities on the island, from medical mini-cities to new hospitals and clinics. In fact, so impressive has been the expansion, that the Kingdom is now able to position itself as a regional medical hub in sectors from cosmetics to life-saving specialities. The days when residents had to seek healthcare oversees are gone, in all but the rarest of cases, and the island now provides some of the most advanced state-of-the-art facilities in the Gulf region. Salmaniya Medical Complex and the Bahrain Defence Force Hospital stand out in the public sector alongside private specialised entities such as Janeen Fertility & Genetics Centre, the German Orthopaedic Hospital, London Breast Care Centre and the Royal Hospital for Women. The Kingdom is also well served by a range of general hospitals, many of which have a significant list of in-house specialities. American Mission Hospital, as well as being the country’s oldest hospital, boasts state-of-the-art outreach clinics. Al Kindi Specialised Hospital is newer and equally as technologically advanced. Royal Bahrain Hospital is part of
the international KIMS group and offers a range of specialities. Bahrain Specialist Hospital boasts many different treatment options. And Stanford Medical Center is the newest addition to the sector offering a variety of services. There is also a selection of polyclinics, such as Middle East Medical Centres, Aster Clinic, KIMS and Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Centre, offering a variety of multispeciality services in an, often, walk-in setting. L Kindi Specialised Hospital is celebrating 10 years of successful challenges in continuing to extend its exceptional healthcare services.
