RANA ROLLS ON FOR SOCIAL CAUSE Rana, the young entrepreneur and business associate of Titan Industries Ltd., completed a remarkable journey on skates covering 800 km from Visakhapatnam to Chennai for a social cause. The expedition is a part of an awareness campaign for breast cancer for the Chennai Pinkathon. Rana said, “We have identiﬁed one such patient who is differently-abled and below the poverty line. I urge people to at least donate Re 1 for each kilometre I skate towards the cause through the crowd funding website Ketto (www.ketto.org/800) to contribute to the cause. ACT OF LEARNING Ashvattha- People Skills Training.... Redefined uses theatre techniques to help children build confidence, learn to be team players and be creative. Shyla Kurma, the founder, takes a theme and builds her workshop around it. Adapting Devdutt Patnaik's stories, she introduced the children to Indian, Greek and Egyptian mythologies. Staging of Saraswati's Secret River and An Identity Card for Krishna by the children was the fitting finale of the 14-day creative learning. The children, who attended the camp and their parents, vouching for the efficacy of the workshop, say that it has been an enriching experience.

CELEBRATED CHARITY It was Brahmotsavam, of sorts when the CMR Central reverberated with claps and cheers as a band of visually and physically challenged children sang and danced. It was the third event of the CSR activity - red on a mission, initiated by Chandu Tippala, CMD, red magazine. Screening the ďŹ lm Brahmotsavam, in two theatres, Inox, CMR Central and Inox, Varun Beach, red magazine raised funds to extend help to the underprivileged and differently abled children. Just around the same time, while passing through the second lane of Dwaraka Nagar, a big wooden ﬁnish board displaying a catchy name ‘Soup Stop’ grabbed my attention. The name titillated me, but a second thought popped up -'why to get in, just to have soup'? Perhaps this would be the reaction of most of us. I suggest ignore the doubting Thomas and be a sport and enter. I assure that you won’t regret, a lavish spread of scrumptious food awaits you, transcending the soup’s limit. As I opened the door, I found the ambience quite enticing. It is softly yet well-lit and designed aesthetically using subtle colours creating a soothing impact. The menu is a huge spread, with starters, appetizers, sizzlers and plethora of drinks which include mocktails, shakes, cold coffees, smoothies and interesting shots. The Bond Father: Ameet being the first born, is very special to me and my wife Komal. As he was born after four years of our wedding, the wait made it all the more valuable. Team Work & Decision Making Father: We used to work together in interiors business until a few years back. Many times it happened that we would sit with clients separately, yet we both would have proposed the same idea, leaving the clients surprised at the similarities of thought. Son: I am into interiors and he takes care of Eastern Art Museum, so we take our individual decisions. When it is about something related to both the businesses, decision is taken together.

My mom’s consent is too included as she is also involved in the business. Clash of Ideas Father: We do have clashes of opinion, but within five minutes we say sorry to each other and get going. I prefer to play safe, whereas Ameet is more of a risk taker. However, there is no blame game. In case anything falls flat; we parents are there as anchors. Son: The person, who is wrong, apologises. he name Rana seems to be the ice breaker. Mention it and the otherwise reticent Mr. Raja Uppalapati, a business associate for Titan Company Ltd., is all words and passion. His son Rana, who is also part of the business, has recently completed an 800 km-skating expedition to spread awareness and raise funds for underprivileged cancer patients. "This keenness to do something beyond seems to run the family. I myself travelled to all the seven continents. In addition, offering service to society, especially in the areas where he feels not enough is done, has been his intent," says the proud father. I wish to be his prototype,” confesses Sumit Rathod, the younger son. “When I started the business 30 years ago, it wasn’t easy. But along with my sons, I have reached here,” declares the proud father Bastimal Rathod. This is an interesting story of a businessman who started his humble journey in 1977, after migrating to the city from Rajasthan. The Bonding Bastimal: It is friendly, especially after they have grown up. I never say no to them. My sons and daughter are my real treasure. Amit- We share a bond which is neither too strict nor too friendly. At home he is lenient, but at work he is a task master. Sumit: Being the younger one, I have always been the pampered son. He has ensured that we get the best of everything. Team Work: Bastimal: I focus primarily on accounts and finance. I mostly take charge of Rathod Sons, located in Allipuram. Amit- Basically a business is divided into three segments, finance, purchase and sales. I take care of purchase. Sumit: I joined the business five years back. I take care of the sales division. I also look after the branch in Saraswati Park. Decision Making Bastimal: On minor issues, we take individual decisions. For the major ones, we discuss and include opinions of my daughters-in-law and wife too. Strength Bastimal: To handle a huge array of products and maintain the variety, is my strength. Amit: Among all the traders in this region, my negotiation power is best. Sumit: I keep myself abreast with latest trends. I am a good seller and excellent at convincing customers, especially in bulk sale. Leassons Learnt Bastimal: From my sons I have learnt how to expand the business. We had started with stainless steel utensils, gradually entered hotel kitchen equipment, now we are into products in home appliance, gifting, silverware gifting etc. We have penetrated Orissa market. Amit: May be with time a little modernization has come, but the basic training is by him. His dedication is matchless. He stuck

to one business despite many adversities. Sumit: I learnt stability and how to be at customer service 24X7. Reactions to Crisis Bastimal: Instead of panicking I just look forward to good tidings. I never think bad of people, even if they wrong me. Amit: I go little jittery if things don’t go well, but I get calm down very soon. Sumit: I stay calm, instead of going wild. Fatherly Advice In 10 years I like to see both my sons as top traders in our business at national level. This will happen only when they continue to be together forever. Strength lies in unity. Avoid as Father Amit: I am not blaming him, but as he required my support, he asked me to join the business when I was too young. I couldn’t pursue higher studies. I being a father of two won’t let my kids enter the business that early. I would like to educate them. Sumit: Smoking! Ultimate Wish For Him Amit: Though he never expressed it openly, he wants construct a temple. I will fulfill it. Sumit: In our Jain community we have a system where we take our fellow people on sang (pilgrimage), depending on one’s capacity. However, it is not just one’s financial ability; the permission should be given by the Jain Samaj. Our father wants to do so. We hope to fulfill his dream soon.

The son, Mr. M.M.N.Parasu Rama Raju, Managing Partner, Swathi Associates, is a successful entrepreneur. He is dynamic, ambitious, hard working and remains unassuming despite his notable accomplishments. He has been an active leader in the BJP. Ours is a family of teachers and we lived a very peaceful and risk-free life. I wanted Murali (his name at home) to follow suit. I, in no uncertain terms, told him that neither would I buy nor pull any strings to get him a seat in college. He studied well and worked for a while before floating his own company. We Time Father: Though I was transferred thrice, the places of work were close to Bheemavaram. My wife Saraswati too worked as a teacher. Hence our two children never lacked any attention. Moreover, we enjoy the support of a huge and closely knit family.

Son: Keeping up his promise to his dying father that he would take care of the family (five brothers and three sisters), my father maintains beautiful relations. Even today, he hosts the mandatory annual family get-together. Expectations Father: Both my wife and I are retired from service and continue to live in Bheemavaram. Though Murali urges us to stay with him, I feel we should fend for ourselves as long as God gives us energy and health. Son: He doesn’t allow me to buy even his train ticket. I, with a large fleet of buses at my disposal, have to watch him go to the station and book his ticket. He told me in the very beginning of my career, “I don’t expect a rupee from you nor do I give you one. Whatever I give, will be only to your children.” He has opened accounts in my children’s name and deposits some amount from his pension every month. Difference of Opinion This is inevitable as we belong to two different generations. We also differ in our political ideologies - while I am with TDP, he prefers BJP. But these differences are restricted only to the verbal debates and don’t percolate into our lives. Son: He is wary of business whereas I took to it like fish to water though I did not have any background. I want to provide

livelihood for at least 100 people. I tried to involve him in business after his retirement, and floated Swathi travels. But he was quite ill at ease with it. Strength/Weakness Father: His greatest strength is his friends. Weakness- reposing blind faith in people and doesn’t think of tomorrow. I wonder if these qualities are welcome in this cutthroat world. Son: His honesty and candour are his strength. Weakness? None at all. The Decision Maker Father: He is a self-made man. Son: He is the boss, but allows me space. Tips Father: I am always there if he wants some advice. Son: He doesn’t take my advice because in his view I am still a child. Unforgettable Incident Father: We admitted him to a convent. Sulking over it, he went away to his grandparent’s house. We had to send him back to the board school. Later he said that he didn’t like wearing uniform and shoes. He has been always against frills. Son: Serving as the president and secretary of United Teachers Federation (UTF), he used to make frequent trips to Eluru, which was the administrative headquarters, to get the issues of teachers settled. One particular year he was going to Sabarimalai during the time of UTF elections. We were elated that the following two years he would be free and we would have him all for ourselves. But shattering all our hopes, he got elected in absentia.

SON Corrective Measures Never did he raise his hand on me. When I was a child, he used to take me out, buy me some goodies and coolly explain to me where I went wrong. and now... Recently he asked me to give my report card on my business. I presented all my assets. Pat came the question ‘What about liabilities?’

They returned home only three years ago, after obtaining MBA degrees from UK and are now the Directors of the company. The obvious bonding among the three proves that the years melted away without causing as much as a crack in their ties.

Bonding Father: Hailing from a small place Vundavalli (which recently shot into fame) I wanted my boys to get best education. Moreover, I was busy building my business in transport field, shifting from one place to the other and knew for certain that I couldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t give them quality time. Team work Father: Many lucrative job offers came their way, but they are back in India to be with me. By that time, I have expanded my business, with my fingers in many pies like transport and tollgate. I had no knowledge of automobile business. Singham Suzuki is their own enterprise, with me assuming a supervisory and advisory role and lending some financial support. I have not involved them in my businesses which are not sophisticated like this one. We are

going ahead with the clear understanding that they will diversify further independently. Son: Our father has given us solid base to launch our dreams and his experience and advice are absolutely indispensable. We go about our business, arriving at decisions after discussions. There are situations when we include our mother too in decision-making. It is a perfect team work.

Lessons learnt Father: I have been a businessman who always thought that I should go further in my business and develop it to the optimum. But it is my sons who taught me that developing business itself is not enough and we should also strive for social recognition.

While I am ambitious and strive to expand my business and horizons, he likes to take things easy. Response Father: Since I very steadily worked my way up in business there are no steep ups or lows. Moreover, I am very stoic. Perhaps, that is because we are financially sound. Sons: Initially we used to get perturbed but not anymore. On business Father: Any business is tension-ridden and fraught with problems. Obviously, a businessman is always in a state of stress, unlike the salaried people. One has to think of various angles besides money matters like if the staff is on the job or not. To keep our flock together itself is a task, with the poaching going all around. Even if one person is missing on the job, the work gets stuck.

Carry work home We try not to. On present generation I feel if the present youth is going astray, it is largely because the parents don’t guide them properly. On Parenting Sons: A humongous pressure. Before we think of ourselves, we have to worry about the welfare of families of more than 70 employees. Our business flourishes only if they are kept happy and contented. Advantage: The huge recognition and ample opportunities to grow in society. For example, red magazine would not have sought our interview, had we not been in this trade. Expectations Father: They have given me more than I ever expected and asked for. Son: We shall only strive to further build on the faith he reposes in us.

My father was an agriculturist and was casual about our education and vocation. I can’t blame him because that was how the things were at that time. he father is like a placid lake - calm and quiet and least ambitious, never expecting anything more than what life offers him. The son is a bubbling stream dynamic, ambitious and all out to take life by the horns. Yet one can clearly see a thread of love and understanding that binds not only the duo but also the entire family.

Mutual Appraisal Father: For us our son is nothing short of the God’s gift. Contrary to the general tradition of fathers commanding the sons to follow certain path, I always gave him total freedom to follow his inclinations. I never questioned him on any decision he has taken. Son: I was the most pampered and indulged child. Never did I hear a ‘no’ from either of my parents –in the matter of my education or career or even marriage. If I am able to go about my work unperturbed and undisturbed, it is because of the stable and happy family backing I enjoy.

Unforgettable Incident Father: During the 1987 floods in West Godavari, Srinivas was stranded at a relative’s house. I thought we lost him. Those were the nightmarish moments.

Son: Honesty, integrity and hard work are the lessons he imparted to me. However, I also learnt from him is that one should not over pamper the children, as he did. I give my daughters enough freedom but never over indulge them.

Different Paths Father: The 9.00 am to 5.00 pm routine and working under some other’s dictates never appealed to my son. He grew up watching me going through the same regimen day in and day out. It was fine with me as I was not a very outgoing person. That certainly could not be the life for an exuberant boy like Srinivas, who wants to live his life on his terms.

Expectations Father: My son is a self-made man and except for a little investment, he didn’t take anything from me. Son: He has been a perennial giver. He is non-demanding and undemonstrative and always counts his blessings. I have seen a lot of ups and downs in my business, but he never questioned me, leave alone chiding. He is blissfully ignorant of all the worldly pursuits. For example, I am a realtor, but my father doesn’t

Son: When I was in 6th standard, he met with a serious accident. Thinking that he would not survive it, he took me into his arms and made me promise that I would look after the family. That drove me to tears. By God’s grace, he recovered and recouped.

Meet Dyana Shiffaire, of the Palestine Persian Royal blood who has inherited Shiffaire Enterprise as proprietorship, owner, CEO and Chairpersion. You started work at 16 what was the experience like? Descending from a Royal Monarchy, I was introduced to more self learning. After my graduation in World Finance I was handling Shiffaire Enterprise and cracking financial deals between MNCs and Businessmen. Then fashion happened to balance my responsibility as the CEO.. From a very young age I have been working on high fashion shoots and am being invited as judge/guest to Fashion shows.

Pursuing my degree in Fashion Designing, specialising in AvantGarde design from Milan and an analyst course from London, and being a qualified hair science and stylist from L'oreal Professional, gave me the lead to be the a analyst in India by FDCI. I also got the opportunity to guide designers at various fashion shows like Gladrags, Lakmé Fashion week, Kingfisher Ultra International Fashion week.

Tell us more about the kind of work you do now I come in as a supporting partner for Fashion Weeks, Beauty Pageants and model hunts around the world. I am launching India's 1st Avantgarde Fashion Magazine called "Dyana's Desire" which will showcase the work of Designers in their Avantgarde creativity with India's 1st Avantgarde Fashion week in Dec2016.

How did the title ‘People’s princess’ happen? If I can be of any assistance to people in any way possible, I make myself available. Their smiles when they say “thank you” are the wealth I've earned. People have given me a home in their hearts and this title, for which I'm very thankful. Tell us more about yourself… I might come across as a celebrity, but actually I am a simple girl who loves to have street food, shop from local markets, meet new people and explore new cities

What is that one thing that worked for you? I take every project as a challenge – be it finance or fashion. I have been bestowed with love and respect from people. Hailing from the Royal Family adds to the finesse and gives me good contacts.

METHOD: Put our into a shallow wide bowl. Season lamb shanks all over with salt and pepper; dredge through the our until coated shaking off any excess our. Heat a large skillet over medium heat; add butter and heat until foaming. Cook lamb shanks in the hot butter until golden, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer lamb shanks to a slow cooker. Pour wine into the skillet and bring to a boil while scraping the browned bits of food off of the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon; transfer to the slow cooker. Add tomatoes with their juice, onion, chicken broth, celery, and thyme leaves to slow cooker. Cook on low until lamb is very tender and almost falling off the bone. It takes round 8 hours. Transfer lamb shanks to a platter and cover with aluminium foil. Transfer the sauce in the slow cooker to a large skillet; simmer over high heat until sauce is reduces. Season to taste. Plate the lamb shanks with the risotto, chilly, chocolate lava and the Port wine.

METHOD: Combine the fresh mango juice, liquid glucose, chopped cilantro and sugar in a large bowl. Pour the mix into sorbetiere to churn. Once the sorbet is adequately churned (about 30-40 min), place in a deep freezer to set. Once it is ready, plate with the mango carpaccio and garnish with kalamata olives, mint sprigs and cilantro honey chilli vinaigrette.

METHOD: Clean and de-vein the prawns. Leave the tail intact. Marinate the prawns with ginger garlic paste, spices, crushed curry leaves, lemon juice and salt and keep it aside for 30 minutes. Dip the marinated prawns in the batter and coat with the desiccated coconut and deep-fry on medium ame until they turned golden and cooked properly. Plate them with Lachcha Pyaz, Avakai Mayo.

METHOD: Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a heatproof bowl. Then assemble a bain-marie – do this by pouring a little water into a saucepan and placing the bowl over the water. Over a gentle heat, set the pan to warm the water until the chocolate melts. Take off the heat and leave to cool a little. Meanwhile, place the butter and half the sugar into another bowl. Using an electric hand whisk, beat until the mixture is really light and creamy, then beat in the cocoa powder. Separate the eggs yolks and leaving the whites aside put the yolks in a third bowl. Tip in the remaining sugar, then beat together until pale and creamy. In a fourth bowl, whip the cream until thickened with soft peaks. Pour the melted chocolate into the butter mixture, and carefully stir until it is well combined. Gently fold in the egg mixture. When this is amalgamated, stir in the whipped cream. Now line a 6.5 x 22cm tin with 3 layers of cling ﬁlm, leaving a 10cm

Pipe a layer over the bottom of the tin, then cover this with a layer of After Eights (cut some in half to ensure they fit). Pipe over another layer of chocolate cream, followed by a layer of After Eights. Continue until you have 4 layers of chocolate mints and the tin is full, finishing with a chocolate cream layer. Fold over the cling film, then chill overnight or up to 2 days. Just before serving, place the marquise in the freezer for 10 mins to make it easier to slice. Place the tin, bottom side up, on a serving plate, slide off the tin, then peel away the cling film. If you have a blowtorch, quickly run the ame over the surface of the marquise to give it a glossy sheen. Alternatively, dip a palette knife in boiling water and smooth the surface that way. Use a serrated knife dipped in boiling water to cut the marquise into slices. Place on plate and garnish with a caramel nest.

Working with Trivikram... I feel so honored and fortunate to work with a genius like him. No exaggeration, I said yes to do this ﬁlm only because he was directing it. Of course, the story too is brilliant and pretty different from that of the 22 movies I have done so far. I have

Your experience with A..Aa I was looking for that one solid hit and had pinned all my hopes on A..Aa. I was really nervous. It is very crucial for my career and I am very glad with its outcome. It is a simple love saga which might have been told many times in the past. But what makes it special is Trivikram’s way of narration, weave with lovely emotions. It has love, comedy and emotions. And all these impressed the audience big time.

Congratulations for massive success of A..Aa. How did this movie happen? After Heart Attack, I was supposed to work with Trivikram. Unfortunately, somehow it didn’t work out the way we expected. Finally, things fell into place. I think I just had to do this ﬁlm at the right moment and waited for it to happen. After Gundejaari Gallanthayyinde, when I was shooting for Heart Attack in Spain, I got a call. I was absolutely thrilled. However, the project got shelved suddenly. A year later, it got revived again and I got hopeful.

What kind of preparation did you do for your role in A..Aa? As you have seen, I played the character of a chef who has an emotional family baggage. Just to get the right emotions, I attended a lot of workshops. I hope everyone liked my role in the ﬁlm.

Many felt Samantha has a dominating character in A..Aa. Your take? I don’t feel so, there is nothing like that. The lead pair in all love stories has equal roles and weightage. In fact, there are many other characters who are pretty dominating in the movie as well.

Can we call Trivikram a special director for you? Yes he is. I found another Teja and Rajamouli in Trivikram. He took care of every bit, from my body language, diction to hair-do. The way I got inspired from him and learned so many facets of life is just amazing. He is like a walking encyclopedia.

We heard Pawan Kalyan visited the sets of A.. Aa! How did you feel about it? Yes he did. It was a surprise visit and I was not aware of it. Thus, when I saw him, I was zapped and didn't know what was going on for some time. To add to my nervousness, we were shooting a song and had to dance in front of him, it made me even more tensed. Even on the eve of A..Aa release, he sent me best wishes with a box of mangoes that were produced at his farm. I shared it on my social media. Generally, he doesn't attend the movie functions but he graced the events of Ishq and A..Aa for me.

Working with Samantha... We were paired together for the ﬁrst time in the movie. Sam is a brilliant actress and also a very close buddy of mine. Somehow during the initial stages of the shoot, it was very difﬁcult for us to get romantic. With strict instruction from the director, we could pull it off. However, our chemistry has turned out quite well and it is appreciated too.

Your movie Heart Attack also got you fame, what are the other major changes it brought in you? My character, as you have seen, was a very stylish one and a lot of detailing had gone into it. It's my most stylish avatar ever. I had to grow long hair and I enjoyed doing it. I have never had a ponytail in my life and for the ﬁrst time I sported the look.

Your movie Courier Boy Kalyan, has a very interesting name, whose idea was it? It was completely my idea to have that name, as everyone knows that I am a diehard fan of Pawan Kalyan.

Changes post-celebrityhood? Being a movie buff, as I just mention I used to watch every damn movie on the very ﬁrst day. Now with celebrityhood, I can’t watch movies in public places. I used to eat out with friends without being disturbed.

When single Nithiin is going to mingle? My family members have been asking me to get married for quite some time. I have been postponing the date. You can’t imagine the kind of pressure I am under now to get hitched. Whenever my mom attends a wedding, immediately she reminds me about my marriage. Not just this. The moment she watches a wedding scene in a movie she immediately pauses the scene and asks me "When will you get married? So, as I say, it will be ‘soon’. (winks)

The greatest learning in the industry… In the last 14 years, I have learnt many things. No matter how much hard work you put in, you need luck to succeed and get a hit, especially in Tollywood. There is also one more thing which I have learnt hard way. As long as you give hit ﬁlms, everyone is with you. The moment you land on a lean patch, everybody disappears. No hard feelings. I am not becoming critical, but only three or four people stuck with me even when my career was down with ops. It taught me a big lesson in life- whom to trust and whom not to. I am also more clear about what kind of ﬁlms to do and what to avoid.

I can't do it now. However, being hero compensates all that I lost. I must confess one more thing- I was never interested in studies, I am happy that I dropped out of the college in my ﬁrst year after I got into acting.

Being a Punjabi girl do you find it difficult to act in a Telugu movie? Yes, it is difﬁcult. But then again, no profession comes without challenges. If one has to grow professionally, then one must be willing to go through some tough times.

How did you land in Tollywood? For the movie Where is Vidya Balan?, the search was on for a new face. For me, Tollywood happened when somebody saw my pictures on Facebook and felt I suited the character in the ick. The rest is history.

Facing the camera for the first time? I was apprehensive and quite unsure, perhaps a bit uneasy too. Luckily it didn’t take me too long to shed my inhibitions. Soon I learnt to consider the camera as my best friend-cum-well-meaning critic.

What are your strengths as an actor? My girl-next-door looks, my willingness to learn and ability to learn it fast. Above all it is my sincerity towards work.

We heard you are into modeling too! What is the difference between the two? I am not really into modeling; I am an actor who has accepted certain modeling assignments to associate with brands/ people/ causes that I believe in. The difference lies between 150 minutes and 150 seconds.

Any Punjabi projects? I have recently completed a short feature ﬁlm Dill Wali Gal with Amy Virk which released on 24th May. Within 24 hours of release, it received huge number of views. Earlier, the song with Punjab’s heartthrob Gippy Grewal had also earned me a lot of recognition.

How was it working in Where is Vidya Balan? Can you share a few off-screen interesting incidents on the sets? It was a steep learning curve for me, especially because of the language barrier. But I must mention that the crew and cast were extremely supportive. I was given the required space, opportunity and freedom to learn from my mistakes. Son: I know it is a cliché but from the beginning our relationship has been like two friends. Dad has rarely been strict with me. When we were in England I recall him sitting on my tummy as a child and both of us enjoying the clementines and we used to listen to the Beatles song – “Shake it shake it Baby”. Son: My fondest memories with dad are the same as the one he mentioned. I was hardly 4 then. On the Family Vocation Father: The advantages are that you have a person with whom you can share everything. The disadvantage is sometimes when the perspective differs you cannot shout and throw him out! Son: The obvious advantage is that my boss is my own father and he being as cool as he is, I never have to think twice to skip work for a

couple of days and go on a holiday. But the flip side is that, because it is your own business you feel the pressure of responsibility. Ultimately, though you have the freedom to be more casual, you end up actually working much harder than you would elsewhere. The Expectation Father: I will be happy if he can take more responsibilities in the care of senior personnel in the hospital which he is reluctant to do.

Parenting Learnt From Your Dad My father was stricter than I am, but he was gracious enough to take the backseat when I grew up and let me take my own decisions. I wish to do the same. Rating On the scale of 1 to 10, maybe 7. Failing to see his perspective and sometimes being overbearing cost me the 3 points. SON Unwinding Together We go for a movie or listen to music. To Impress Him When a post-operative x-ray comes out perfectly after a surgery I performed, I like to show it to dad and get a pat on the back. The Naughtiest Thing Done Together... When I was a kid in England, dad had taken me to a famous museum, I had to pee urgently. There were no restrooms in the vicinity, so dad looked around for options and suddenly had a brilliant, naughty idea. He found an empty McDonalds milkshake cup on the street and gave it to me to fill up. One Thing You Will Do With Your Kids I want to spend as much quality, happy times with my kid as my father does with us. Message To Him One thing I haven’t told him enough – I love you dad! BINDING The Bond Father: Now that he is a grown up man, the two of us are more like friends. Son: The bond the two of us share is of love and respect. To me, this relationship is very sacred. A new event at Saptakshara by Ghatam artist Padma Bhushan Vikku Vinayakaram was held at the Cyber city Convention Center. The evening saw over 1000 music-lovers of Vikku Vinayaram enjoying the melodious Carnatic music concert. His eldest son V. Selva Ganesh was at drums, V. FASHION FERVOUR The campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology-Kondapur turned into a venue for the display of a large collection of thematic creative design products. The exhibition, Fashionova – 16, showcased all the graduation projects and design collections of students of the Fashion Design Department. The project works of 33 students of the institute, who were graduating, were showcased at the college’s auditorium. This exercise not only gives the students an opportunity to showcase their talents but also imbibes self-conﬁdence in them.

FOR A CAUSE Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF) with support from Inorbit Mall, is actively bringing awareness and aid to athletes with disabilities. The founder, Aditya Mehta, himself is an avid para-athlete with several achievements to his credit. Stars Shilpa Reddy and Regina Cassandra joined the cause, in felicitating and donating money to 30 differently abled people. The event also generated funds for the para-athletes.
