Welcome to Round 5 of the SEFNL Berwick Motor Group Premiership Season. This week is ‘Pink Round’ being one of our many themed rounds for the 2017 season, so make sure your club thinks pink, and get behind the day and help raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. We all have a mother, sister, grandmother, niece, friend that we know that has been affected, and this is our chance as a community to rally around one another and support this great cause. It has been fantastic to see everyone is getting right into the season! There have been a few upsets this season already and we cannot wait to see how the rest of the season will unfold in both football and netball. The SEFNL Representative Netball Teams played their second tournament for the season at Mountain District Netball Association. We had a very successful day out with these results: 17 Open finished 1st on the ladder and went on to win the grand final. 15 Red finished 3rd. 15 White finished 1st. 13 Red finished 1st and won the grand final. 13 White finished 3rd.

Well done to all teams for a terrific day out and in particular a big thank you to the parents and our coaches; Janine Kilmartin, Roger Palmer, Leanne Walford, Mia Palmer, Katrina Foster and Lauren Bourke. Good luck for the next tournament on 7th May at the Waverley Association Championships. Next week is our AFL Victoria Worksafe Community Championship game versus a Jonathon Brown led Hampden FNL at 1pm on the VFL Oval at Casey Fields. The initial squad has been selected for the Senior Football Game (Click here to view) and training has begun. The final squad along with further match day details will be announced in the coming week. We wish the squad all the best in representing SEFNL and hope that you can get back into the top 10! After the AFL Victoria Worksafe Community Championships, we have a few more themed rounds that will highlight the contributions of umpires and indigenous people in our game: Round 6: 20th May 2017 – Community Umpiring Round Round 7: 27th May 2017 – Indigenous Round Queen’s Birthday Weekend: 10th June 2017– Bye for whole competition Round 11: 1st July 2017 – White Ribbon Round That’s all this week from the SENFL Desk, best of luck to all sides competing this weekend!

A look at what is happening around AFL South East Finals Venues SEFNL The AFL South East Commission has announced several of the finals venues for 2017, including Grand Finals. In what could be a statewide first, the SEFNL Grand Final will be played under lights at Casey Fields on Saturday night September 16. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase the quality product SEFNL has to offer. Apart from being able to showcase the product, a night Grand Final also avoids clashes with other Grand Finals such as Nepean and nearby leagues who have Grand Finals on that afternoon In what will be a big day for SEFNL, the netball Grand finals will also be conducted at Casey Fields on the same day. Full details of times will be released in due course. AFL South East appreciates the assistance of the City of Casey and the Casey Demons in facilitating this initiative. We can also confirm that the SEFNL Preliminary Finals for football and netball will also be conducted at Casey Fields. A tender process for the hosting rights for weeks 1 & 2 of finals will be conducted shortly. MPNFL In a slight change to previous years, there will be additional Nepean Finals played at Mornington Isuzu Ute Stadium (Frankston Park) this year. Weeks 1 & 2 of finals will have one game at MIU Stadium, followed by the Preliminary Final and Grand Final on the afternoon of September 16. The Peninsula League will follow a similar path with one final in each of weeks 1 & 2 being at MIU Stadium as well as the Preliminary Final

and Grand Final, which will take place on Sunday September 17. As for SEFNL, the tender process for the hosting of finals in week 1 & 2 for the Nepean and Peninsula Leagues will be conducted shortly. Women’s Football Commences After what has been a long pre-season I am sure there are many women out there who are delighted that the season proper commences this week end. AFL South East is managing 3 divisions of South East Womens Football (SEWF). We have 7 teams in SEWF Chisholm Division 1, which includes 2 AFLSE Teams (Cranbourne & Seaford) and 10 teams in SEWF Mornington Racing Course Division 2 which includes 6 AFLSE teams (Beaconsfield, Cranbourne, Edithvale-Aspendale, Mornington, Red Hill and Seaford) We also have 15 teams in the Mornington Racing Course South East Development League, which is a great result for the first year of this league. We also welcome in to our region 4 clubs from Gippsland. Without the co-operation of our Clubs, these girls would not have had a competition to play in. We appreciate there will be some additional travel for some, however for the most part AFLSE Clubs have been very generous in accommodating these extra teams. We hope this will encourage other teams in Gippsland to form their own competition in the future. Good luck to all the girls playing their first competitive game this weekend.

2017 Community Umpiring Round AFL Victoria and the wider football community will pause to acknowledge the terrific work undertaken by our umpires this weekend in the AFL’s dedicated Community Umpiring Round. Held from May 6 - 8, the initiative is designed to recognise those patrolling the boundary, manning the goal line and controlling the action out in the middle each week, and the huge role they play in our game. In Victoria alone there are more than 7,000 registered umpires at community level, along with thousands of club-based umpires, who commit their time and energy to allow those chasing the Sherrin the chance to do so safely. To celebrate the occasion, a host of AFL Umpires will forgo their usual training session and instead disband and travel to community umpiring groups across Victoria to engage with local members and facilitate training sessions. In addition, six members from each community umpiring group have been invited to develop their skills and knowledge of the game under the guidance of some of the game’s national umpiring coaches at IKON Park. AFL Umpires’ Coaches Simon Leigh (Boundary), Steve Stirling (Goal) and Hayden Kennedy (Field) will take the fortunate umpires through their paces in an on-field

training session and provide an insight to how AFL Umpires are coached. Furthermore, four lucky members of community umpiring groups will lead out their AFL counterparts at all of AFL matches in Round 7 and enjoy a taste of an AFL Umpire’s match-day experience. Community Umpiring Round is also another opportunity to encourage those who want to be involved in the greatest game in the world to take up umpiring. Across Victoria, huge efforts are being made to attract umpires from all walks of life, with the development of Diversity Umpire Academies and Female Umpiring Academies growing from strength to strength. If you are new to the game, or your playing days are over, than umpiring is a great way to contribute to community football. Regardless of your age, gender, culture or ability, anyone can get involved in umpiring and enjoy the many benefits the roles provide. Not only do you get the best view of the action, but it helps keep you fit, be part of a team and learn leadership skills that you can take with you when you walk off the ground. From Where You’d Rather Be... A game of football is an exciting event. Moments that are memories for the ages. Sky scraping hangs, miraculous snaps, barnstorming comebacks, bone crunching tackles and anything else you can think off. Some players can make the impossible look easy, some are just purely spectacular to watch. Droves and droves of interested onlookers flock through the gates week in and week out just to get a glimpse of it all. Parents and partners watching their loved ones have a run around to mates heading down for the weekly chinwags over a beer or two. Heating blasting the car to keep the frost bite away along the fence line to swarms of vocal locals perched on the hill hurling constructive words they hope are heard over the other side of the painted white line. The footy’s a place for everyone and anyone with views from anywhere and everywhere. But…at the end of the day there’s only one place to be to get the perfect view of everything (please note this is from an aesthetic perspective…not referring to the contentious calling of decisions that are always wrong) …and that’s smack bang in the middle with a whistle in one hand. You’re getting a good ol’ chuckle out of that… we can here ya. But think about it, keep an open mind and read on. We’re smack bang in the middle of the action. Could you possibly get any closer? We’re looking straight up at the hangs with no one in our way, hearing the bone crunching bumps, seeing every little intricacy of the aweinspiring miracle makers, hearing the deafening roars of the crowd that send tingles up one’s spine and lining up alongside the all time greats. Could anyone possibly ask for such a privilege? We are at the centre of it all. No the game doesn’t revolve around...even those some of the mugs around struggle to get their head through the change room door. We’re just

like a player, club member or spectator...just another small part of a great spectacle that means so much to so many. But who’s got the best seat in the house? So ask any umpire this weekend where they are when they cross that white line. You’ll only hear one response...”From where you’d rather be...”

Guess the umpire

In the upcoming weeks, I will be introducing guess the umpire from a photo provided (hopefully baby snaps). I would like some input and some photos for those interested.

DOVETON 8.8.56 LOST TO CRANBOURNE 12.10.82 Tricky conditions made for an interesting first half of football as both teams were held goalless in separate quarters. Doveton kicked the only 2 goals of the first to take a 15 point lead into the first change. What we saw in the first quarter was a total reversal in the second as Cranbourne came to light taking full advantage of the conditions. The Eagles started to apply pressure around the footy and win the vital one-on-one contests. Doveton couldn’t get the ball forward quick enough to give their forwards an opportunity to beat their opponents and score. A 3 goal to a scoreless second quarter for Doveton saw Cranbourne take a slender 8 point lead into halftime. With the game still in the balance, the third quarter was a tough tight tussle. Doveton’s spearhead Taylor Joyce was been blanketed by the Cranbourne defence they had to rely on small forwards Michael Henry and Lachie Batten to keep the pressure on the scoreboard. Both teams exchanged goals, when Batten kicked his second for the quarter it looked like Doveton where going to leading into the final quarter before Zac Roscoe from the Eagles kicked truly, leaving the teams separated by less than a goal with 30 mins to go. Doveton had it all at their feet, a win here would provide a massive confidence boost early in the season. Cranbourne were under pressure with plenty of questions to be answered after their premiership from last year. Nick Battle bobbed up again to give the Doves the lead, Cranbourne’s leaders started to stand up and take control. Cranbourne sparked themselves into gear kicking 6 of the last 7 goals to setup a commanding 26 point win.

OFFICER 20.12.132 DEF HAMPTON PARK 5.10.40 Officer came into the contest with plenty to loose, they have shown some signs of improvement in the early stages of the season as the Kangaroos don’t get the opportunity to 2 win 2 games in a row often. Hampton Park on the other hand have been adapting to a new style of play while working through a rebuild of the club. The first quarter was an even contest, Hampton Park were able to capitalise in front of goal but the Roos managed to sustain a 2 goal lead. Officer took control of the game of the second quarter, better ball use setup better scoring opportunities. The Roos kicked 4.1 while holding Hampton Park goalless. Ben Allan returned to form for the home team, as Officer enjoyed a 42 point lead at the half. Yarran Jaffer-Williams showed why he such a classy player, working hard to keep the Redbacks in the contest, his efforts were fruitless as the Kangaroos continued to push hard with an unrelenting game style to kick 6 goals to 1. Matty Clarke and Matt Rogers combined well in the forward line for 6 goals, while Allan finished the day with a best on ground 4 goals. The Redbacks had no answer to the Kanagroos onslaught, with the Roos kicking 16 goals to 3 after quarter time in their 92 point win.

PAKENHAM 5.8.38 LOST TO BEACONSFIELD 16.14.110 Beaconsfield entered the contest full of confidence after a spurring win the week before and started the match how they finished the game last week with a quick goal from Troy McDermott. Beaconsfield’s press was making it difficult for Pakenham to get into the contest. Inaccurate kicking kept Pakenham close, a goal from recently appointed captain Chris Cardona had the margin back to 3 points. Both teams exchanged goals with the Lions only down by 2 points at the first change. Beaconsfield put on sublime display in the second quarter, kicking 6 goals in the first 20 minutes of play. The Eagles defensive pressure sucked any energy out of the Lions, as reflected on the scoreboard, Beacy had extended their lead to 56 points. Troy McDermott was on fire kicking 3 first half goals. The second half opened with Pakenham starting to open the play, they improved their ball use and had Beaconsfield on the back foot at times. Beacy were once again wasteful in front of goals, Rus Lehmann snapped truly to give the home supporters something to cheer about. The nice goal was the only goal for the quarter, the Lions reducing the margin to 52 points. The result was beyond doubt but to the Lions credit their players continued to fight. Beacy’s class was too hard to stop, with their defenders running with spread and opening the Pakenham defence with repeated entries inside forward 50. McDermott kicked 2 more goals to take his game tally to 5 as the Eagles ran out victors by 71 points.

TOORADIN 11.14.80 LOST TO NARRE WARREN 20.8.128 Narre came into the contest with plenty to prove after a disappointing last week at home. Nick Scanlon is proving to be a first goal specialist, as he helped the away team to an early lead. Nick and Stewart Scanlon kicked the first 3 goals before Tooradin hit back with 2 quick goals of their own to reduce margin to only 8 points. The quarter was tight, when Scanlon kicked his third the Magpies were in front by 20 points. Seagull Jake O’Donnell kicked his second for the quarter to keep the home side in the hunt. Matt Livermore snagged an early goal in the second which swung the momentum in favour of the Gulls. The momentum was short lived as Narre slotted home 5 unanswered goals to have the margin out to in excess of 6 goals closing into half-time. Travis Puntaroni gave the home supporters some hope as they trailed by 29 points at the main change. Aaron Wilson was starting to cause headaches for Tooradin, the elusive forward combined well with big man Jake Richardson as they kicked 7 goals between them in the third quarter taking away any chance of a second half comeback from the Seagulls. Narre flexed their muscle kicking 8 goals to 2 and extended their lead to 65 points with one quarter to go. With the result in the bag the visitors pressure dropped and Tooradin capitalised, outscoring Narre in the last quarter to add some respectability to the scoreboard, Scanlon kicked Narre’s last goal to take his tally to 4 as they celebrated a hard fought 48 point win.

BEACONSFIELD V HAMPTON PARK Last Time – Round 14 Beaconsfield 5.11.41 def Hampton Park 5.7.37 Beacy scrapped home in their match last season but it seems that period of football is long gone. Both teams have new coaches and recruits, yet we see one team on the rise while the other is still searching for its identity. Beaconsfield have become a team to watch in Season 2017, their defensive press and team ordinated football makes them a genuine finals threat. Hampton Park on the other hand have struggled, they had an opportunity to show some improvement last week but found the trip to Officer too tough. Beaconsfield have found the ability to turn defence into attack, their run off the halfback flank makes them very difficult proposition to stop. Scott Meyer is enjoying more freedom and will be too big and strong against Hampton Park. As we saw when the Redbacks played Doveton, they struggled in the big man department, well Meyer is still on the best big men in local football and will be looking to dominate. Troy McDermott is a great foil for Beau Dowler, the combination works well around goal. Dowler can drift up the ground, while McDermott can play tall inside forward 50. Luke O’Brien will be battling hard to provide the Redbacks their own offensive target but he needs support. Yarran Jaffer-Williams is a classy fleet footed midfielder who will fight it out to the finish but their undermanned midfield will struggle against Beaconsfield who bats deep. Beaconsfield by 107 points.

NARRE WARREN V BERWICK

to play the last encounter on their own terms but will have to ensure their defensive side of the game is ready to go from the first bounce as Berwick will be looking towards their fluent ball movement to have the ball going their way. Berwick appear to have a touch of class above Narre at this stage of the season and should go on and win their fourth match of the season. Berwick by 23 points

PAKENHAM V DOVETON Last Time – Round 11 Doveton 13.16.94 def Pakenham 6.10.46 Pakenham find themselves in the uncharacteristic position of being tied to the bottom of the ladder without a win after 3 matches and their task doesn’t appear to be any easier this week. Doveton went down in the last quarter against Cranbourne but not before pushing the last year’s premiers to the brink. Doveton have plenty of class and pace with the likes on Nick Battle, Lachie Batten and Michael Henry they have formed a dynamic partnership which includes kicking goals. Pakenham are short on resources, and will struggle to limit the domination of big man Russ Gabriel. Gabriel will use his strength to advantage and will make it hard for the Lions midfield to get into the contest. Doveton on paper have one of the strongest lists, but consistency in their game continues to make it hard for them to compete with the best in the competition. Doveton will be tough, as we have seen before if Doveton have the opportunity to outmuscle their opposition they will. Doveton by 47 points

TOORADIN V OFFICER

Last Time – Round 14 Narre Warren 9.7.61 def Berwick 7.13.55

Last Time – Round 10 – Tooradin 16.8.104 def Officer 9.12.66

Narre verses Berwick is one of the highlights of the SEFNL calendar and this one is shaping up as a cracker of a contest. Narre will be eagerly awaiting for this contest to try themselves against the best in the competition. Berwick will be rejuvenated after enjoying a week off for the bye and will be just as prepared to take on their rivals. Narre managed to secure the win last time these teams faced off last season at Kalora Park but will need to find a new level to compete against Berwick. The Wickers have already disposed of final contenders Beaconsfield and Cranbourne to be on top of the SEFNL ladder. The game will be won in the midfield, Berwick have recruited James Magner who adds to the grunt, while Bryce Rutherford and Brody Connelly have added some height and class to the formidable line up. Madi Andrews has been leading from the front with a couple of best on ground performances early in the season and will lead the charge against the likes of Dylan Quirk, Trent Cody and Michael Collins. Nick Scanlon has slotted into the forward with ease, it’s like he has never left. Scanlon has booted 12 goals in 3 matches and provided a real avenue to goal. Narre managed

Opportunities for wins can be scarce for teams outside of the Top 5. Officer arrive into this must-win contest on a 2 game winning streak. Wins against Pakenham and Hampton Park have the Kangaroos on the brink of the Top 5 while Tooradin have recorded one victory but shown plenty of improvement against side above them on the ladder. The contest should fierce, we will see 2 quality big men go at it, Aisake O’Hailpin up against Dylan Chapman from Officer. Whoever can get first use of the footy down to the midfield should gain the ascendancy. Andrew Dean and Nick Lang are viable options up forward for Tooradin, they will require plenty of supply to remain competitive. Officer bring a hardworking brand of football into this match, you can be assured they will be working for the full 120 minutes making this an enthralling contest between 2 teams desperate for a win. It might not have the same level of class as Narre v Berwick, but this will be a great contest and you could expect the margin to remain close. Tooradin can too often let the pressure slip when you expect them to perform well, which makes it hard to tip them, even when at home. Officer by 5 points.

Last weekend we ventured out to Officer for the first of two away games. It is worth noting that there has been a fair amount of opportunity given to players over the first 4 games of the season with 34 players used in senior games and 43 players used in reserves. With a lot of new faces in both teams the boys are still learning each others playing characteristics. The effort and endeavour of the boys cannot be faulted. We just need to improve decision making under pressure and skill level which will only happen on the training track. Better players on the day in the Reserves were: M Penn, K Mobourne, M Phouttanouvong, A Hepburn, D Glazier & N Dawes. In the seniors: Y JafferWilliams, A Holden, S Walsh & J Warry.

This week we head out to Beaconsfield and looking at long range forecast for the first time in 3 seasons we will not be coming home with hypothermia. Good luck to the boys this week. Social A great night was had on Saturday at Bogan Bingo, congratulations to the King & Queen bogan. If you were not there you missed a great night. Shall we just say whatever happened at bogan bingo stays at bogan bingo. Our next event is the annual 10,000 folding reverse drawer on 18th June. Narre scored the clean sweep of three footy results against an improved Tooradin last Saturday, while on Friday night under lights our Under 19 B were outpointed by Berwick. Seniors – Tooradin’s Ones were hard at the footy all day, but Narre gradually took control with some good teamwork and ball use building a five goal lead at half time. Our 8-goal third quarter put the match in our keeping at the final change but the last term was a bit of a scrap with Tooradin hanging in for the full four quarters. Aaron Wilson was lively up forward with five goals and had plenty of support from Nick Scanlon (4), Jake Richardson (4) and Stewie Scanlon (3), as Narre’s attack proved more efficient than Tooradin’s. Narre’s win was born in the midfield with Trent Cody, Dylan Quirk, Jayden Bubb and Dean Kelly all prominent, and Andrew Hunter was reliable in defence all day. Reserves - Narre’s Twos had a 15-goal win as Tooradin had no answers for our slick ball movement and multi-pronged attack. Narre extended its lead at every change and won by a convincing 15 goal margin. Billy Athanasopoulos kicked three. Narre had 12 individual goalkickers and played the game on our terms all day. Sam McLean was a rock in defence, Dutchy Holland dominated at the stoppages and Ryan Quirk was outstanding accumulating stats around the ground. Under 19 A – Narre Under 19A had a good win over Tooradin in slippery conditions. We took control early establishing a 7-goal lead by half time and played pretty good footy throughout to win by 140 points. Maxy Sheppard kicked 7 and was best on ground along with Jack McGuffie, Tom Miller and Brayden Sharpe.

Under 19 B – Narre’s Under 19B travelled to Berwick with excitement of playing Friday night under lights. The pressure was intense and it was Berwick who got the upper hand early and continued their momentum taking a 58 point lead into half time. Our boys never stopped trying but were outclassed in the midfield and Berwick were able to run out winners by 121 points. We don’t feel the scoreboard reflected on just how competitive our young boys were. You can see by their body language after the game they were exhausted and left all they had on the field. Our best were Adam Machnikowski - a ruckman going places, well supported by Barney Mauot-Agang, Brandon Hogan and Tyson Graham. Thanks to Berwick Football club for having us for the Friday night and for the great support for our boys from family, players and supporters of the club. Social Notes – Narre’s Past Players, Supporters and Committee Day is this week at our Round 5 home game v Berwick in the Social club at Fox Road. All are welcome - $20 entry includes beer, wine and finger food from 1pm. Narre’s annual 2017 Berwick Mazda Corporate Lunch is on Friday 19 May, midday to 4.30 pm in the Jewell Room at the Fountain Gate Hotel. The starstudded line-up features tiger legend and media personality Matthew Richardson; former Aussie Test speedster and controversial commentator Rodney Hogg , and funnyman Dave O’Neil. Bookings essential. Tickets are $120 and include meal with beer, wine and soft drinks. Memorabilia auctions and raffles. With a bye last week the football was limited to our under 19s on Friday night. The boys took on the Narre Warren B team under lights at Edwin Flack. The first game played for points under lights at the ground. The boys recorded a strong win and should take some confidence out of the win as the relatively new team with a new coach start to find their feet. They have played well at times in all games and as they bring more consistency to their performance will become a strong team moving forward. The game itself, being a Friday was a great success with close to 400 people in attendance. Thanks to the Narre FC

for supporting the Friday night game as the atmosphere was excellent for a stand alone under 19s Game. This week will see the football club take on Narre Warren down at Fox Rd. Narre are always tough to beat at home and I am sure all teams will need to be at their best to ensure a successful day. DATES Just a reminder everyone to get online and purchase your Casino Night Tickets. They will not be available on the night. Also Memberships are due.

Today we welcome Doveton FC to the Pakenham Football Club for our 2017 Sponsors, Life Members and Lion Tamers Day.

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) works to ensure a better journey for all Australians affected by breast cancer.

We greatly appreciate our Sponsors and Financial Contributors for their support. Without the support of local businesses and individuals, the football club wouldn’t be financially viable as we are today. We especially like to thank Pakenham Isuzu Ute for their support as being our largest Sponsor of the football club.

BCNA is the peak national organisation for Australians affected by breast cancer, and consists of a network of more than 120,000 members and 288 Member Groups. More than 90 per cent of our members have had a diagnosis of breast cancer, and the remaining members have had a personal experience with breast cancer through a family member or friend.

We also welcome many new sponsors to the club this year and of course those sponsors who have continued to support the club over many years.

We are represented by the Pink Lady silhouette, symbolic of our focus on the women diagnosed with breast cancer and all those around them.

We encourage everyone associated within the football club to check out http://www.pakenhamfc. com.au/sponsors/ and whenever there is an opportunity to support our sponsors, then we encourage you to do so.

BCNA works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs.

As per in previous years, our Sponsors/Life Members Day is supporting a charity and this year it is the Breast Cancer Network of Australia.

https://www.bcna.org.au/

The Football teams will be wearing Pink Football Socks, while the Netballers will be wearing Pink Shoelaces. The games will also be using Pink Footballs and Netballs, to help raise awareness of the BCNA. During the day, there will be rattle tins around the ground, so if you have any spare change, then don’t be afraid to put some in the many tins around the ground.

Last weekend we hosted our Doveton in Business day. We welcomed Jason Johannisen and Matthew Suckling from the Western Bulldogs down as guest speakers and Shaun Cosgrove as the MC. We would love to thank all of our wonderful sponsors who attended the event and thank you for your ongoing sponsorship. We would also like to thank all the wonderful volunteers who dedicated their time in making sure the day was a success. We would also like to congratulate Melinda Wilson our D Grade playing coach on 200 games for our wonderful club! What an achievement!

quarters but were unable to finish off the job. This week we regroup, learn from our losses and prepare to tackle Pakenham this coming weekend. We would just like to thank all of our wonderful players, committee members and volunteers who help out week in week out at our home games. Without you guys our club doesn’t run! Good Luck to all Footballers and Netball this weekend against Pakenham – Go Doves!

The U/19s controlled large parts of the first 3 quarters without capitalising on the scoreboard and that came back to bite the young doves with Cranbourne kicking 8 of the last 9 goals. Jess Ciconte, Chad McDonald & Josh Miller played tough games down back and Luke Coad was good in the Midfield. Lets get every player to training this week, work hard and the results will reflect that. The reserves played desperate, hard attacking football all day but struggled to capitalise with 15 missed shots on goal. With Sean Kelleher and big Frank continually taking game saving marks down back it gave us a chance for Charlie O’Neil to seal the game from 60 meters out, with an eventful point rolling through after the siren to win by a point. One of the greatest victories ever witnessed in local football. Amazing effort boys! The seniors this week knew taking on Cranbourne it wasn’t going to be an easy task but the boy’s had prepared nicely and were ready to play some quality football. We had an early lead at quarter time, which was scaled back into Cranbourne’s favour by the half time break. We came out in the second half, contested every single ball, stayed competitive and narrowed the lead to within a point. The last quarter unfortunately saw our Cranbourne run away with the win. To our boy’s credit, we held strong for three

On Saturday we hosted a very organized outfit in Narre, well coached and played with purpose. Our boys struggled with the start and never recovered from that. We will need to now step our attack on the ball this week against Officer, as after round 4 your season can slip away very fast. We lack depth and it showed on the weekend just how hard it is to compete at this level. After struggling to get number’s for our under 19s we now have 26, a great number for us. Well done to Dan the coach on showing patience and to get them enjoying the game and not pressuring them with result’s rather just encouraging them at all time’s, well done mate. Our reserve’s well undermanned at the moment and we hope they can continue to try and put some good football together over the next few week’s, l wish you well boy’s. This week is our grand final reunion week against Officer as well as the PINK round for breast cancer. We will have signed football’s by Dustin Martin to raffle off and other prizes as well. Please all get behind us on this day, we would really appreciate all your support. Speaking of Dustin Martin, l had the pleasure of sitting next to Dustin at our sportsman night last Thursday and what a great bloke, real down to earth fellow, we all had a great night. I told him the name of one of our greyhound’s name was DUSTY CHOPSTICK’S he just pissed himself laughing, so did we when they actually let that name go though, still all in good fun. Good luck to all this weekend and to our girl’s who are travelling nice at the moment good luck, and our junior’s. Please don’t forget our sponsor’s this week. Regards Greg

Firstly, congratulations to Frank Wyatt on having the Past Players building officially named in his honour last week. At a halftime ceremony and with Frank’s wife and family present the Frank Wyatt Room was officially dedicated after a short history of Franks playing and off-field contributions was presented by Gareth Sheean and Robin McCoubrie. Well done Frank. This week we meet Tooradin at Tooradin in a vital game for both teams. Our boys are looking for three wins in a row while Tooradin are seeking their second for the season. 100% commitment for the full four quarters should see the Kangaroos come out on top. Last week was a clean sweep with three wins for the first time in quite a while. The Under 19’s got over the top of Cranbourne B after a hard fought match. The Reserves also got the four points with a strong win over a determined but under-manned Hampton Park team that fought the match out to the final siren.

Officer Tennis Club mid week players. More great news is there is no change in price for 2017 - we are $350 per single or $400 a double (must be significant other). What’s included? Club Membership (entry to all home games), refreshments (beer, wine, spirits) during the senior game and BBQ lunches at half time. The Past Players Room has the best view in the house (football and netball) plus the live AFL and horse racing will be on the TV’s. Punters Club 2017 - Open to all current and past players, members, supporters & friends. This year Hughesy and Brad will be running the Punters Club. Currently its on fire with wins by Big Al in the first few weeks. Still not too late to get on - you don’t have to be Richmond bandwagonner to join - see Hughesy at training or on Saturday.

The Seniors, as expected, had a comfortable win over Hampton Park with good performances again from Jesse Longmuir, Matt Jones and Nick Redley. Past Players and Officials News - The Royal Roos are back in 2017. If you weren’t aware this is a Football Club Coterie Group for all and sundry which is hosted by the Past Players on behalf of the Officer SFC at each home game. The group from 2016 includes a blend of people who are Past ROC Netballers, old and current club sponsors, Officer Kangaroos JFC parents, Officer Cricket Club players and

TOORADIN V NARRE WARREN It’s not often you get a possible grand final preview so early in the season but that’s what we got with Tooradin v Narre Warren. Both sides hamstrung without some of the star players. Tooradin lost one of their defenders Jess Maher due to an administration error while Narre sharpshooter Tayla Shannon was still showing effects of her leg injury sustained last week. There was nothing in the contest for three quarters of play with either team able to breakaway. With one goal separating the teams it was going to come down to which team rose to the challenge. The midfield batter was enormous with great individual efforts across the courts but it was the Seagulls defenders Bec Kinna and Ebony Dolan that gave the home side the momentum. Tooradin’ Alex Maher was supreme in the final quarter, scoring a remarkable 10 goals to get the Seagulls a massive confidence boosting win at home.

DOVETON V CRANBOURNE Cranbourne’s red-hot early season form continued at Doveton. The Eagles lead at both changes in the first half extending their lead to 8 points by halftime. Doveton started to work themselves into the contest during the third quarter and started to play the game on their terms. Little by little the Doves where eating away at the margin reducing it to 6 goals at the final change. Doveton coach Liz Edwards made some changes to the goalers and implored her girls to be smarter with their game style. With the game still very much on the line, the Doves put in a huge final quarter. Rahni Samson rose to the occasion against Cranbourne’s toughest defender Tara Cecil. Samson was unstoppable in front of goals, fed by a dominant mid court, Samson went on a tear. Samson scored 12 last quarter goals in a triumphant performance which saw a 9 goal

turnaround on Cranbourne. Doveton securing a remerberable victory at home and jumping to third on the SEFNL ladder.

ROC V HAMPTON PARK ROC and Hampton Park will be two of the teams fighting for a bottom position in the top 5 come finals time, which was reflected on the court at Starling Road. The game was tight in the first half before an explosive third quarter by the Redbacks who outscored the Kangaroos 10 goals to 5 to setup an important away win. The Redbacks had winners all over the court with defenders Shannon Rennison and Karli Foster blanketing the ROC goalers, the midcourt charge was lead by the impressive Maddi Hanlon. ROC had no answers in stopping Hampton Parks attack. Laura Quinn battled hard for the home side but couldn’t stop Sam Neil and Sarah Smith inside the circle as the Redbacks enjoyed an 8 goal win 43 to 35.

PAKENHAM V BEACONSFIELD On a high from last week, Beaconsfield starts the match in emphatic style blitzing Pakenham early in the contest. The Lions had no answers in trying to stop the Eagle brimming full of confidence. Beacy’s Courtney Davey led the charge in front of goal as the hardworking midcourt supplied her with plenty of opportunities to score. Beacy led 15-6 in the opening stanza which set the tone for the rest of the match. Davey swapped with gun shooter Bianca Sanzaro in the second half which didn’t stop the momentum. Beacy were too good and too strong. Ash Gill on the wings combined well with Emily Kerr in the centre. Beacy took the opportunity to provide debutant Emily Kerr her first run and she impressed. The Eagles ran away with an 18 to 6 last quarter against a undermanned Lions outfit. Beacy recording a 5726 win at Toomuc Reserve.

BEACONSFIELD V HAMPTON PARK Beaconsfield have been in red hot form to start the season, their only loss coming against early premiership favourite Tooradin. Beaconsfield have always been a major contender but seem to be relishing from the return of their seasoned stars and are back to their very best. Hampton Park have been a team on the rise after making the finals last year. It was always going to take time for the Redbacks to regain their form from last season as they introduced new girls to the ranks. Hampton Park have steadied already with 2 convincing wins to put themselves back into the finals picture, its only percentage that keeps from the Top 5. The Redbacks will be looking forward to the challenge of playing at against Beaconsfield at Holm Park. The game will be a quick affair, with both teams looking to capitalise in front of goal but defences from both teams will be on edge to restrict any easy opportunities. It’s hard to tip against Beaconsfield, with their current form. Beacy by 13 goals.

BERWICK V NARRE WARREN It’s been a long time since Narre Warren have had back to back loses as they try and cover for recent state of injuries. Narre were riding a 21 game winning streak which included an undefeated season and the 2016 premiership. Good sides don’t lose form overnight and the Magpies will be desperate to get back on the winners list as quickly as they can. Berwick have shown signs of improvement but have fallen short in each of their matches this season. Narre Warren will have to re-group and look at ways to reduce the impact of their injuries as they look at ways to regain confidence. The Magpies haven’t been smashed, just falling short so their best isn’t far away. Narre could play themselves into form playing against a team like Berwick who has been struggling in recent times. Narre by 19 goals.

PAKENHAM V DOVETON Pakenham is one of 2 teams yet to notch a victory this season. Pakenham have struggled to apply any scoreboard pressure against their opposition teams. The Lions struggles have seen them unable to convert more than 25 goals a game, in comparison to the ladder leaders Tooradin who average 52 it’s a big difference. The Lions have lost some of their experienced stars on the court and look to be going through a rebuild phase under the guidance of a new coach. Doveton have also welcomed an experience coach to head their campaign. Doveton have been on a roll after starting the season with a loss against ROC. Doveton have a strong physical brand of netball and have been competing for a finals position the past few seasons. Doveton should be stocked full of confidence after a strong win at home last week against Cranbourne and will be looking to make 3 wins in a row against Pakenham. Doveton by 17 goals.

TOORADIN V ROC Tooradin are the early premiership favourites after an impressive first month of Netball. Tooradin have taking down other final aspirants including Beaconsfield and Narre Warren. The Seagulls are playing with new found confidence. A team who was winless in 2015 is undefeated in 2017. It’s been a remarkable turnaround of fortunes for the girls from Westernport Oval. The rise looks to continue again this weekend as they welcome ROC. ROC lost last week which has brought them back to the field of teams looking to fill the last few positions in the top 5. It goes to show how competitive and close this competition is as any team can beat anyone on their day. ROC would have to be at their absolute best for the entire match to beat Tooradin at home. Tooradin have a game style which results in plenty of scoring opportunities for their goalers. The Gulls are the only team that averages over 50 goals a match and if they can score that again it will be too hard of an obstacle for ROC to get over. Tooradin by 21 goals.

A Grade recorded a 31 goal victory against Pakenham. Courtney provided a strong target at GS, using her body & working well with Emily who used her speed around the top of the circle. Jasmine & Ashleigh teamed well, complimenting each other & making it difficult for the Pakenham midcourt to slow down our feeding into the goal circle. Rylee made it difficult for the opposition, chasing down loose passes & harassing every movemen. Taylah & Danielle restricted the opposition attacking end, pressuring every possession & forcing turnovers. Congratulations to Emily Kerr for making her A Grade debut, coming on in the last qtr. Awards: Ashleigh, Jasmine, Courtney. B Grade-Beacy travelled to Toomuc Reserve to take on Pakenham in what is always a well contested match. A strong start by the girls had them push out to a 12 goal lead with some tstunning attack play from Mel & Kelly. Defensively the team placed immense pressure to turn over a number of ball to see the Eagles finish with a 24 goal win. Awards-Bec, Mel & Kelly. C grade came out firing from the first qtr against Pakenham with some solid work rate across all positions. Great to see us bringing the training session into the game & giving each other plenty of options down the court. Awards-Sam, Hannah & Molly.

U15 White had an awesome match coming away with a win against Pakenham. We controlled the match from start to finish & showed everyone watching exactly what we’re capable of. We had little to no faults today hence the reason why everyone received an award for their outstanding performance. Awards-Jaime, Keeley, Darcy, Tahlia, Chloe, Sophie F, Sophie W, Kayla & Paige. Once again under 13 Reds had a fantastic game of netball against Pakenham. All 4 qtrs were utilized & built on. A highlight of the game was our defensive pressure, which as a team we have been developing & we applied all the way down the court. Awards:Tiarna, Darcy, Tahlia & Jamie. U13 White-After an intense training session this week the team was ready to implement some defensive pressure into their game. It was great to see this take effect so quickly, as pressure was seen all over the court by all players. Well done to Eliza & Ariah for each playing half a game in defence & half in goals, maintaining such strong positions at both ends of the court.

D Grade this week came up against Pakenham, we showed our real strengths in our defence with some great intercepts from Ash, Tay & Tianah, movement through the midcourt was great showing some great passages of play. Goalers were strong once they got used to playing together. Thanks so much to Mackenzie and Brianna from 17s White for filling in, their efforts were amazing & really helped assisting us with the win. Awards: Madi P, Ash & Brianna. 17 Red-The girls battled it out to come away with a 3 goal victory. It was a very scrappy game with the wet court causing a few challenges for our usually fast-paced team. Awards-Eb & Em P. 17 White had a top of the ladder clash, the girls were pumped up & ready to hit the court! They dominated early putting unanswered goals on the scoreboard & took a nice lead into qtr time. The girls stuck to the game plan with full court defensive pressure & working together to find great space in attack. Awards: Hanna, Bree & Mikaela. U15 Red-A much more focused & determined girls took the court this week against Pakenham. A strong lead at half time, the girls were able to move the ball quickly into the goal ring to score. Midcourt kept the ball moving & defensive pressure saw the ball turned over on many occasions. A convincing win 30-11. Awards-Jamiee, Fran, Alix & Chelsea.

Was a tough game for my little under 13’s going down in the first quarter 20-0. ROC were a fantastic side and we just couldn’t keep up. Our passes, structure down court and defence were lacking after just the first 5 minutes. When we play these teams we need to use it to better ourselves but unfortunately ROC were incredibly strong. What we did well was we still backed each other up where we could and we didn’t give up. You girls and boys blow me away every week so let’s go train hard Under U15s play Officer at home. Officer came out blazing and continued the entire game with fast ball movement and accurate goaling. Despite this, our team didn’t give up and continued fighting till the end which is great to see. We welcome aboard Molly to the team this week fitting into the team well. U17 Whites played their best game for the season. ROC came out with accurate shooting and feeding into the circle, but we fought hard down to the very last second. Injury to our team has left us having to rotate combinations to find something that works. You girls did your club proud by smashing through that game with absolute determination to succeed. The score line did not reflect the effort and commitment you showed. Thank you to Gemma for slotting into the team effortlessly. Best on was Annalise Miall. U17 Red we went in wanting our second win all girls went in strong although having only 5 girls under 17’s on court we were prepared for a tough game specially with knowing ROC’s defence system! First quarter we did well put up

a fight lost it but half time although everyone put in 100% working hard main goaler went out last quarter due to injury although last quarter with no chance of a win the girls decided to go any position to get the understanding of how hard other positions are and the opportunity to understand their team mates positions! Best on Jacinta Hart! D grade unfortunately lost 1st quarter by a goal and kept it even 2nd and 3rd and lost the last quarter final score going down by couple of goals. Best on Hayley Barron C grade today and the girls put in an incredible effort. Goal for goal with the lead swapping so many times I lost count. Going into the last qtr. we were running out of legs but we fought it out and walked away with 4 goal win. Best on ground was clearly Beverley Buchanan she ran herself into the ground from start to finish and played brilliantly. Smash out a good hard session on Tuesday Ladies and keep this winning streak going Strong performance by B-grade. Drawing the first qtr. and then winning every qtr. after. Fighting out the game till the end we won by 9 goals. Great performance by Amber Dunn-Marler Alisha Parissis Khloe Weaver and Megan Egbers. A grade was tight all game but the last quarter we worked as a team and pushed out the score. Thanks to the girls that were named but didn’t take the court well done to Amber. Well done Shan on pushing out a full game injured. Best on was Channing Withers & Hinemoa Collier.

Our netballers travelled to Tooradin for Round Four, finishing the day with seven wins and two nail biting draws. The 13 White and 15 White girls recorded their first wins for season 2017. The hard work at training is beginning to show on the court. Our 17s, C and D grade teams all secured big victories. While our 13 Red and B grade sides had everyone on their edge of their seats finishing with scores all locked up. The A Grade match lived up to expectations, with a close tussle for sixty minutes. Narre Warren fought hard to close the margin, just falling short at the final whistle. Thank you to everyone who supported the Share the Dignity campaign, donating items to assist women in need. Well done to Rachel Davies from Tooradin for initiating the collection for a worthy cause. This week we welcome Berwick to Fox Road for an ACTION PACKED ‘Pink Sports Round’ home game. As well as our ten netball matches there will be the 2016 Premiership Flag Unfurlings at 11.45am. All five premiership flags will be unfurled by the captain and coach. We encourage all players, officials and supporters to join us outside the netball rooms for this celebration. Past Players Day kicks off at 1pm in the Social Rooms – all past footballers, netballers and volunteers are welcome to come along. There will be a special focus on the 1992 Premiership Team. The court and field will be turning pink to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia. All netballers will have a touch of pink and there will be plenty of pink ladies around. Pink Afternoon High Tea begins from 3pm. $10 entry includes a glass of champagne or pink lemonade and high tea. We encourage all supporters to give to this worthy cause and enjoy a sweet treat while watching the senior footy. There will be a raffle and door prizes on the day. On the court we expect plenty of competitive netball. Our A grade girls are keen to bounce back onto the winner’s list after two tough losses on the trot. B Grade need to re group to gather some momentum. C and D Grade will be striving to keep their form on track and continually improving. Our juniors will face tough opposition with Berwick recruiting strongly. Good luck to everyone! berwick With the Wickers playing away last round, the sun shone brightly, which made for some happy faces early in the day. With Hampton Park not fielding all junior teams, our 13 & 15 White’s had a rest, leaving our other juniors to continue working on cementing themselves in the competition for 2017. 13 Reds, had a great strong start to the day coming away with a very good win against the Redbacks. Skills & teamwork shone through each & every play, along with the camaraderie within players. 15 Reds, again, showed their strong team work on court, these girls are proving to be a force in 2017 season. This win leaves them top of the ladder coming off the BYE on %. So great to see our junior ranks finally proving to other clubs, as well as themselves, just the kind of netball they can play and positions they can be, with hard work and determination, definitely a force to be reckoned with. Both our 17’s had strong competition on court against HP. Our Whites coach Sarah Nash, is proving her step up from 13’s the past few season’s has given her the strength to progress and is reveling with this team, as the wins are starting to show on the board. Unfortunately, Red’s lost their game by a goal. As disappointing as this was, the girls have certainly showed the skill set each and every one of them possess, and individual qualities they bring to this team. Some amazing intercepts by mid-court/ defensive player’s Lauren Castricum and Zarli Corless in the last quarter, kept the turnovers happening to get the #wickerchicks within that one point.

The clash in C grade was a much better display this week of the performance they are capable of. Some different combinations and hard work at training, proved to be instrumental on court, as the girls pulled together in a very tight contest. Oakleigh Mullan & Carley Notley worked tirelessly in defence, provided numerous turnover opportunities for their team. The girls will have to rally again with some new players this week as they lose their defender Oakleigh to new opportunties she is pursuing. Wishing Oakleigh all the best with her new venture, you will always have a place with our BNC family. B Grade got off to a firing start against their formidable opponents in Round 3, managing to secure a very strong lead going into 1/4 time, extending that to 7 goal lead at 1/2 time. The girls were playing a very high grade of netball and seemed to have all the answers for what the Redbacks were throwing at them. A lapse in concentration and the girls somewhat running out of legs towards the end of the 3rd term, saw HP get off to a great run and turned the game completely around, the girls going down by 10 at the final whistle. B Grade will be very keen to bounce back and put out a solid 4 quarter performance against Narre. A Grade continue to persevere and get stronger as the Rounds roll on. Being highly underestimated by other clubs and critics, this young group of girls are pulling together and finding their feet in this competition. Although Round 3’s scoreline wasn’t the outcome we would hope for, coach Janine Kilmartin could not be prouder of her players and can see the potential of just whats to come.

D Grade went into their clash this week with a few new faces along with a new mindset on how they wanted to play and the skill sets they wanted to work on. Again the wins might not be on the board, but we realise that wins don’t always come from a scoreline. Lead by their coach Mikaela Greer, this team is taking every opportunity and step to ensure they’re improving each week, and as a club couldn’t be any more proud of that.

U13 Red - A competitive start to the game had us leading by 1 at quarter time, Cranbourne got the jump on us during the 2nd quarter with a 5 goal lead, the girls struggled to recover however they never gave up. Going down by 10 showed that with hard work and dedication we will get them next time! U13 White - Definitely a game we could have won it goes to show if you’re willing to put in the hard work success will come our biggest let downs were our passing we just couldn’t seem to get them where they needed to be. Definitely so much potential girls for our second game I was rapt with how you girls kept your heads up.

Wow, Both A and B grade come away with a 2 point Win!. Not only were both teams down for the first 3 quarters, Doveton just refused to allow Cranbourne to push the score line out. Determination and hunger for every bonus position and converting all centre passes, allowed the 4th quarters to be a nail bitting finish. With Cranbourne being such a talented side, it makes me such a proud coach when both teams are able pull it together when it’s required! So great game/Win too all A & B grade.

U15 Red – With a really nice start to the match we saw lots of ball control & movement throughout the court. Our goalers were kept under pressure the whole game but really held their own very nicely. Cranbourne kept up the pace the whole game, but we continued to edge on. We came away 6 point winners. Very proud of the girls for never ever giving up. U15 White - After a slow start we finally got our rhythm together and put a good plays together resulting in a string of goal. Some stand out performances in the defence in kept us in the game! In the end Cranbourne were just that bit too strong for us! But we took lots of learning points away and will be ready for next time! U17’s White - It didn’t matter what we tried but we seemed to not be in control of the game. A few Things to work on at training girls but as I said we had a bad game but lost by a goal so just goes to show what we are capable off. Let’s work hard this week and come out with a win against pakky. U17’S Red - Well Well Well today I asked for effort and pressure thru the mid court. Our girls trying hard. Great mix with 3 great goalies, 3 defence, & 3 midcourt. We have a great balance and effort. Just got to work on skills, and being better for longer. Great win ladies.....J.B. Out! D Grade: We knew this week’s game was going to be a tough one, but we came ready. Cranbourne blew out to a nice lead early but we edged our way back in by quarter time. The first half saw our attacks miss a few vital shots and our defence end allow Cranbourne to edge their way in front. We didn’t give up and really fought hard to bring the lead back. We ended up going down by a disappointing goal. C Grade: Well done ladies!! Such an experience for me as a coach to see all the hard work (from training) pay off. The team work was on point and sportsmanship on fleek!! My ladies stood up and pulled thru when it counted the most! We were down by 6 going into the 2nd half but once but, with a quick “reality check” discussing the pace of the game, we slowed ours down and played to the beat of our own drum, this saw us pull away with the win and a 9 point lead at the end!

What a great day we had last week against Narre Warren! Whilst it didn’t necessarily show this on the final scoreboard, overall all teams showed a huge improvement from previous times we’ve played them, which was very pleasing indeed. Our 13 Red & B grade teams both had very exciting matches which were nail biters to say the least! BOTH teams finished with a draw!! The rest of our junior teams managed to come away with much better games & this was reflected in the higher scores they all achieved. Well done girls! The highlight of the day however belonged to our awesome A grade girls. This team is just going from strength to strength and in a tough, hard fought match they proved themselves yet again, finishing with a 4 goal win over the reigning premiers! What a 21st present for our star defender Ebony Dolan!! Our A grade have had a brilliant start to the season & are yet to lose a game. Keep

it up ladies! We would like to thank Narre Warren for all their generous donations to our “Share the Dignity” fundraiser and again to Rachel Davies for organising this. We will be running this at every home game throughout the season so keep those donations coming in! This week we take on ROC/Officer in what will again be hard, competitive matches. Here’s hoping we can get a few more wins on the board! Good luck to all teams & to the footballers. A reminder that it is “Pink Round” this week so bring your spare change along for donations to support breast cancer. And don’t forget to “pink up”!! Pink hair dye, pink socks, pink shoelaces whatever fun things you can come up with so long as it’s pink! The next social function for the year the “Frat Party” is also on this week at the Pearcedale hall at 7pm. $20 entry & drinks at bar prices. Looking forward to a fun night! Go Toora’s!!!

C GRADE: Coming off a blinder against Pakenham last week C grade took the court against Hampton Park with a very different line up. Despite that we went goal for goal for the whole game against a very physical team and continued to hold our own with some amazing defensive work and mid court conversions to goal. Unfortunately Hampton Park had more legs than us in the last half of the 4th qtr and took away a well fought win by 4 goals - congratulations to Natali VanDeelan for our best on court for an outstanding performance in GA.

Congratulations to Gemma on her well deserved BOC award and Ally for receiving our Superman team values award. Keep up the outstanding team work! So very proud of you! Go 13 Red

D GRADE : Another tough game for us today. Defensively today once again was extremely strong and the back-up down the court is getting better each week. Which is great. The game was intense from the beginning with 1 goal separating us at half time. The Challenge was set for us to play the game out and keep to our game plan. 3rd quarter we had a lead of only 2 goals so it was do or die for the final quarter…. After a pressure quarter, we saw the score see-saw and fortunately we maintained our lead to take the win. With this we have popped into the 5 spot on the ladder- well done ladies. Onwards and upward. BOC- Great game Ellen, your pressure and read of the ball was fantastic and saved many goals. 13 RED: Congratulations 13 Red on an fantastic team effort. We arrived switched on and prepared with a strong understanding of our team and individual focuses. Preparation is the key! Game Highlights: • Controlled ball movement into attack with impressive angles into front and back spaces with great spatial awareness. • Commitment to hunt the ball was rewarded with 46 defensive turnovers and scored off 30. Improvement from last week. • Applied team values with incredible confidence both on and off the court for four quarters. • Equalled our best goal shooting accuracy with Keeley shooting at 96% and Mia at 91%. • Gemma improved her defensive turnover PB of 11 intercepts and tap and gathers.

The ROC netball club is once again hosting Bogan bingo, following the success from last year.
