Hello and welcome to the inaugural Federation BFLWomens Grand Final day at Mars Stadium. Today’s event has been the culmination of many years of work and support to be able to present female football on the premier stadium in country Victoria, achieving a stated aim of the Ballarat FNL to ensure equality for female football. The BFNL is proud to have taken on the concept and operation of female football through the BFLW and thank the many supporters who have made this happen. These include the City of Ballarat through the Active Women & Girls Strategy that has supported the use of facilities throughout the Ballarat region. Thanks also to AFL Goldfields and staff and of course the board members of the BFNL who have had the foresight to make sure female football becomes a fitting member of the wider BFNL community.
A special and final thanks goes to the many volunteers who put in the hours each week to ensure female sport can be played through the BFLW each week. It is not possible to have 30 teams competing without this support and on behalf of all players and supporters, thank Pleaseyou.enjoy the first of many BFLW Grand Finals and the spectacle that is the premier female competition in regional SincerelyVictoria.
