The Middle East and North African countries, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia, have seen in recent years a remarkable development on the level of the public sector in order to reform and increase the participation rates of girls and women in the educational system and the modification of family’s law. This does not reflect the economic empowerment of women in Mena countries which prompted many of the interested parties, which approach gender equality, to focus on projects that support and promote women’s integration into the labour market along with women's economic empowerment program in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Mainly, ANA HUNNA promotes gender equality in work opportunities and spreading public discussion about the importance of women’s contribution to the economy. In order to achieve what has mentioned above; Ana HUNNA started in two projects in cooperation with NGOs, governmental institutions and under the umbrella of Econowin program.
