“To meditate is to be able to stop and listen to the music of life with a sense of reverence, connectedness, and awe.”
At the Garrison Institute, we’re passionate about eating well. We acknowledge and honor the deep relationship between mind and body by providing food that nourishes and inspires.
“Our menus are organized by month, so you can experience what seasonality in cooking really is. Our recipes are designed to be made in this place, at this time, though many can be adapted to any season or location—a Moroccan stew might have zucchini in the summer, replaced by butternut squash in October. Our goal: satisfaction and pleasure, nourishment, timeliness, and a sense of plenty.” – Shelley Boris We hope you enjoy the beauty and splendor of this old monastery. INSTITUTE
Our Climate, Mind and Behavior program integrates our understanding of what drives human behavior into practical strategies to shift how we see our place in the natural world and face climate change. Our Contemplative-Based Resilience Project provides resiliency skills training to humanitarian aid workers. Last year, we held four trainings on three continents, reaching aid workers deployed all over the world. We hope you enjoy the beauty and splendor of this old monastery.
