The End and the BEGINNING
Arya Braveheart
As the days grow shorter and the sun begins its descent, a subtle shift takes hold of Second Life. The vibrant tapestry of summer, with its long, languid days and warm embraces, starts to fade. In its place, a new season emerges, cloaked in hues of gold, crimson, and russet. Autumn, the season of change and contemplation, is upon us.
Let’s explore the transformation as nature prepares for its annual slumber and Second Life ramps up for the time of colour, cobwebs, and chilly days.
As I write this, I am only just beginning to see SL events move from beach decor and summer scenery to fallen leaves and indoor fires; however, I have managed to find a few bits and pieces as I scoured the SL plains.
A reminder that when this article is published, the events I am showing you today may have moved on to the next round, but you will still be able to find these items in mainstores— and I am sure that when you go looking for them, there will also be new autumn items out for you to enjoy at the same time.
Autumn in Second Life is a shopper’s paradise! As the real world leaves turn golden, virtual stores are brimming with cozy home decor and enchanting garden accents. From lifelike autumnal foliage and harvest-themed furnishings to fireside accessories and spooky Halloween decorations, there’s something to suit every taste. Whether you’re looking to create a warm and inviting indoor retreat or transform your virtual garden into a breathtaking autumnal
wonderland, Second Life has it all.
It is a great time to visit events, go poking around in mainstores, or spend a relaxing afternoon partaking in a fall-themed hunt or two to get ready for all that autumn has to offer. It is also the perfect time for a total overhaul of your house, home interior, and garden area. Get rid of the pastel and bright tones of summer and enjoy the mellow colours and dancing firelight of this fall season.
There’s something undeniably magical about the transition from summer to autumn. As the days grow shorter and the air takes on a crispness, the world of Second Life undergoes a breathtaking transformation. Cozy sweaters replace sundresses, and the promise of crisp mornings and warm apple cider fills the air with anticipation. It’s a time of renewal, where the world slows down and invites us to embrace the beauty of change.
Embrace it, and enjoy.

SARAH’S MAGIC KINGDOM DISNEY MUSEUM
Sarah E. Brenham
Ihave had the privilege of taking you all to some incredible places, but I am exceptionally excited about today’s location. Why? Because we are going to— get ready for it —Sarah’s Magic Kingdom - Disney Museum! I just want to say from the jump that although my name is Sarah, I am not the owner of this wonderful sim. That honor goes to Sarah Sandalwood Daniels (sarah.nikitin). The reason that I can’t wait for us to go there is that I am simply a hugeDisney nut! At Sarah’s Magic Kingdom - Disney Museum, we will go on as many rides as we can and visit their awesome museum. We are going to try to attend a parade. And of course, hopefully catch the fireworks! So, if you are ready, let’s go!
Okay, now that we’re here, we need to add something to our looks. Some ears, of course! Now that we are dressed the part as true Disney lovers, we can head on to the main attraction— the museum! While I know that many people don’t like museums, I urge those who are Disney fans not to pass this by. Here you can learn some cool facts about some of the Disney parks. Hey guys, look at this: they have an area right off the museum where you can host your own events! Can you imagine throwing a birthday party or even your wedding reception at Disney?! Sign me up!
So, I think that it is time now to go on the rides! But what one should we start with? Those who know me, are aware that I like all things spooky. With that being said, I feel that it only makes sense that we begin with the Haunted Mansion. Please note that you will need to wear a HUD to enjoy most of the rides here to the fullest, including this one. When you first enter the Haunted Mansion, you get to enjoy a little show prior to boarding one of the ride vehicles. Both the presentation and the ride itself are a perfect mix of creepy and magic. I feel that the Haunted Mansion is suited for audiences eight years old and up.
Well, it seems that we need to pick our next ride, right? How about sticking with the macabre theme? Shall we go on Pirates of the Caribbean? Cool, then let’s go. Like the Haunted Mansion, it is recommended that you don a HUD to receive the best experience from this ride, as well. I’ll admit, it seems to be a little tricky to find the actual ride, but at least the scenery around us while we look is awesome. Phew, it looks like we finally found it, and it seems that it is our lucky day as an available boat has just arrived. Those who love the Pirates of the Caribbean series will adore this ride.
To complete the dark trend that we are on, let’s now go on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Like the previous two rides, it is advised that you put on a HUD. I’m sorry folks for the confusion there; for some reason, I kept walking past the entrance. But now that we found it, let’s go in. Just like the Haunted Mansion, you get to enjoy both a production and a ride. This ride is a great choice for the unique thrill seeker.
I am still pumped with adrenaline, but it is getting late. Let’s end our day here on this sim by going on Splash Mountain. I know we are all wet now, but don’t worry, we will be dry by the time we reach the bus.
We unfortunately weren’t able to catch the parade or fireworks today. But I encourage you all to visit yourself and do everything that we didn’t get to do today, including the rest of the rides and hitting up the shops that they have here. I know I will be coming back, as I was having too much fun to get my shop on! Hope to see you all there!

A VIRTUAL CULINARY HAVEN: THE STORY OF BARIKI
Reign Congrejo
In the ever-evolving landscape of Second Life, where digital dreams become virtual reality, one restaurateur is redefining the dining experience. Welcome to Bariki, a restaurant whose name translates to “blessings” – and that’s exactly what it aims to bring to its patrons.
A Vision of Authenticity
The owner of Bariki, driven by a passion for culinary artistry and community building, embarked on this venture with a clear vision: to create an authentic roleplay dining experience that showcases talent, skill, and a genuine love for food. “I wanted to be a blessing to all!” the owner exclaims, embodying the very essence of Bariki’s name.
A Philosophy of Joy
At the heart of Bariki’s culinary philosophy lies a beautiful paradox – a serious approach to food, coupled with a light-hearted attitude towards oneself. The owner muses, “For many of us, food has evolved beyond mere sustenance, becoming a source of enjoyment and conversation.” This philosophy shines through in every aspect of Bariki, from its menu to its ambiance.
Adapting to Change
In a world where customer preferences shift like sand, Bariki stands firm yet flexible. The pandemic has reshaped dining habits, even in virtual realms. Bariki responds with a contemporary, healthconscious menu featuring chicken and fish options. “Consumers now seek bold flavors and dietaryspecific choices,” the owner notes, highlighting their commitment to accommodating diverse palates.
A Feast for the Senses
Bariki’s design is a testament to thoughtful curation. Sophistication meets approachability in an interior adorned with lush greenery and soothing neutral hues. Soft lighting casts a gentle glow, inviting patrons to linger. A stage and dance floor promise nights filled with sultry performances and joyous movement, creating a multi-sensory experience that goes beyond mere dining.
Overcoming Virtual Hurdles
Running a restaurant in a virtual world comes with its unique challenges. For Bariki, the biggest hurdle has been reaching diverse audiences. The owner’s solution? A grassroots approach focusing on word-of-mouth promotion and supporting fellow entrepreneurs. “The Bariki is open for everyone to enjoy, irrespective of their cultural background or life experiences,” the owner affirms.
Innovation in the Digital Age
In the competitive virtual dining scene, Bariki stays ahead by embracing modern trends. From encouraging guest feedback to creating Instagramworthy settings, every detail is considered. The owner emphasizes the importance of staff satisfaction, recognizing that a restaurant’s success hinges on its team’s performance and contentment.
Moments That Matter
Amidst the daily bustle, it’s the personal moments that stand out. The owner recounts a touching anniversary celebration where their attention to detail moved a customer to tears. “The true reward in this industry is witnessing the smiles on our customers’ faces,” they reflect.
A Harmonious Future
Looking ahead, Bariki has ambitious plans. Live music is on the horizon, with sultry singers and smooth jazz setting the mood. But that’s just the beginning. The owner envisions a constellation of restaurants, each celebrating different cuisines and cultures. “We intend to establish a range of restaurants, each highlighting distinct cuisines, such as Indian and Asian,” they reveal, painting a picture of a diverse, inclusive future in Second Life’s culinary landscape.
Words of Wisdom
To aspiring virtual restaurateurs, Bariki’s owner offers sage advice: “Stay focused. Never look at the number of people but the quality of service you provide. Focus on the end result and that is to provide the highest quality of service to everyone. Set short term goals and celebrate wins.”
As our visit to Bariki comes to an end, one thing is clear – this is more than just a virtual restaurant. It’s a labor of love, a celebration of diversity, and a testament to the power of community in the digital age. In Second Life’s vast expanse, Bariki stands as a beacon of culinary delight and human connection, truly living up to its name by blessing all who enter its virtual doors.
