Coaches 50 Ri-Level (MTA) Japan
50 Ri-level coaches cars were delivered to the MTA, Maryland, USA including RC-cars (cab cars with toilet), RE&H-cars (trailer cars with toilet), RS-cars (trailer cars with snack bars), and RT-cars (trailer cars without toilets or snack bars). Passenger seating capacity for each type of car ranges from 130 to 135 passengers seated two abreast. All seats, which can recline or fold, are ergonomically designed to provide superior comfort to the passengers. Folding seats provide access for wheelchairs. These Ri-level cars are the first to achieve FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) certification to run at 200 km/h speed on Northeast Corridor (Washington D.C. to Boston) track.
