Hello, welcome to our new What’s On Guide This is your essential guide to cultural events from Renfrewshire Leisure! We’ve changed things around a bit so you can see our whole range of events each month and will be publishing an extra Summer What’s On Guide so you have a year round programme of cultural events. This year is the 30th anniversary of Paisley Arts Centre and we are planning a programme of events and shows to mark the occasion.
With this in mind, we would love you to let us know the following:

Our Booking Fees We charge a £1 transaction fee for all bookings made online. This includes postage if you opt to have your tickets posted out to you. Tickets booked by phone can be held at the Box Office for collection or posted out at a cost of £1. There are no charges for tickets purchased in person.

FREE Paisley Museum recently received a donation of Moon maps, created by NASA in the early 1960s to provide an accurate depiction of the lunar surface. These maps, hand drawn with incredible accuracy and detail, were then used to select suitable sites for the Moon landings. This display showcases a small sample from our collection of these very impressive, highly detailed and decorative maps.

Paisley Museum FREE Inspired is the annual exhibition of artwork from children and young people in schools and nurseries across Renfrewshire. This year, the exhibition will include community artworks created in workshops facilitated by ‘Ice Cream Architecture’: We Made Paisley City is an installation of architectural models based on a fantasy future Paisley and Our Story is a large multi media mural.

Its 1967, retired singer Angela Arden’s career has hit rock bottom and she is trapped in a loveless marriage. She gets involved in an affair and her husband suddenly dies. This leads to Angela’s daughter plotting a conspiracy of revenge.

Based on the book by Marie-Louise Gay, this is a visual journey that captures the beauty and detail of Marie-Louise’s illustrations using puppetry, physical theatre and magical light boxes and brings it all to life with a mesmerising original musical soundscape and score.

The Dinosaur Detectives weave their way through the audience looking for clues about the past when they discover a secret doorway. Inside there are a number of cases; cases that contain the stories of the people who discovered dinosaur bones in Victorian times. A performance with rod puppets, shadow play and large-scale projections shows the fascination, fun and the conflict that surrounds the search for dinosaurs. Clydebuilt also bring along a ‘Fossil Table’ for the end of the show where the audience can handle fossils including real bones and dinosaur poo!

Based on the novel by Joan G. Robinson, this beautiful anime follows Anna Sasaki living with her relatives in a seaside town. Anna comes across a nearby abandoned mansion, where she meets Marnie; a mysterious girl who asks her to promise to keep their secrets from everyone. As the summer progresses, Anna spends more time with Marnie, and eventually Anna learns the truth about her family and foster care.
Willie is an outrageous but loveable rogue, whose interests include food, motorbikes and rock’n’roll. He plans to eat Granny and Red Riding Hood but fails miserably because of his unreliable motorbike. Luckily Granny is a good mechanic. Unluckily she is not a good driver...how will it end? Happily of course, if the audience helps! The puppets are all hand operated within a rickety seaside style puppet booth, which heaves around alarmingly throughout the performance issuing bubbles, smoke and occasional jets of water!
