Oceanponics - foodscape for the future Ching Khun-sin, Jiangjyun, Tainan, Taiwan Landcape Design Competition|2017/09|Ren Wei Wang, Yi Tsz Lin
As the sea level rises rapidly, the decreasing farmland has become one of serious issues nowadays. In the future, farmland in costal areas will face extinction. To face the rising sea level, we try not to resist but adjust it. Ching Khunsin was a salt field before, here has become an abandoned area from the salt industry of Taiwan went down in history in 2002. However,in 2017, Cing Khun-sin was listed as a national scenic area. In this project, we try to last the local fabric of landscape, and inject power in it to adjust the crisis of submergence. The new Ching Khun-sin will float on the sea, produce food by using sea water, and provide habitat for animals. Every part will form a strong ecology system, coexist with the ocean peacefully. 4

The Heart of Thousand Ponds - Taoyuan art museum Taoyuan Museum of Arts, Chunli, Taoyuan, Taiwan Landscape Design Academic Project|2017/11|Ren Wei Wang
Because of the tableland landform, climate, and soil, it is hard to storage water in Taoyuan. In the early days, in order to respond the demand on agriculture, there were many ponds developed for irrigation. These ponds caused the landscape of Taoyuan. With the rapid development of industry, the function of the ponds has gradually disappeaered, which leads to these ponds are built for indusytry or living. In this project, the art museum will combine with the pond, which can provide functions shuch as flood detention, habitats creating, leisure serving, and so on. In addition, the tourism will be brought by the art museum, insert energy into the community of the site, and creat an art park coexists with ponds harmoniously. 10

Concerto 'Four Seasons' - part of Hanxi landscape design Hanxi, Dali, Taichung, Taiwan Landscape Design Academic Project|2016/09|Ren Wei Wang
The site is located on the upstream of the Hanxi river, which has abundant animals living in. In view of all this, it couldn't be designed in over-artificial way. Instead, the upflit wooden pathway is adopted as the main route. There are four decks in different sizes and heights stretching from the pathway, which creat the different space experiences of four seasons. To define an area of four seasons, the plants which have different features in every season are planted on this site, and set up plant indicators as well, in order to acheive the purpose of observing and education at the same time.

Issue
Solution
It's hard to enter into the river bank because of the jungle.
In order not to disturb ecology of the river bank, the main route will be uplifted, stretching from road to river.
The jungle on the river bank is overgrown.
Use seasonal plants and set up plant indicators to improve educational purport and maintain the ecology.
The view of river is wide because the river embankment lies high.
The pathway streching from river embankment, which enlarges the advantage of uplift landform, can take view all of the river around, and the degree of disturbance is lower as well.

Landform Botanical Garden - the low altitude waterfront zone
Tunghai Farm, Tunghai University, Xitun, Taichung, Taiwan Plant Design Academic Project|2017/03|Ren Wei Wang (Masterplanning: Bo Liang Liu, Wan Ting Lin, Bing Yi Zhang, Yu Fang Zeng, Ren Wei Wang) There are five zones in landfom botanical garden: the low altitude flat zone, the low altitude waterfront zone, the middle altitude waterfront zone, the middle altitude hill zone, the high altitude mountain zone, which are divided by landforms in Taiwan and combined with different environments. By recognizing different plants in different altitudes and landforms, and providing good leisure space to people to relax, in order to acheive the purpose of recreation and education. In terms of plants selection, the native plants in Taiwan are considered priorly, in addition to improving the people's recognition of native plants, it can also stablizie the ecology of local environment.
