Lora lives in Birmingham with her husband of 38 years and has two married daughters who live and work in New York and Los Angeles. She grew up in Troy and raised her family in Bloomfield Hills so this community is a part of her.
An avid tennis player whose teams have reached the national championships five times, Lora also loves to spend time with family and friends. She’s an Associate Broker and member of the National Association of Realtors. All these relationships, resources, experiences and talents are funneled into her dedication to her clients. Kathy Umbarger Jackie Bortman
Jackie is a Fontbonne University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science. She was born in Cleveland, raised in St. Louis, and has lived in southeast Michigan for the last 25 years.
Jackie is a licensed realtor with a passion for real estate and her clients. She brings a diverse skillset cultivated by a highly successful background in the hospitality industry in Sales and Human Resources. Hardworking, dedicated, and persistent, she enjoys building relationships and is committed to being her clients’ advocate in championing their success.
Debbie Ohanian
Debbie is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State School of law. She works extensively for a number of charitable causes. Giving back to the community is in her heart. She is a voracious reader, belongs to a number of book clubs and is a great supporter of our local libraries.
Debbie has been a realtor for 10 years. She is an excellent communicator and strives to bring about a collaborative, fun and successful partnership approach to her deals. She loves helping people facilitate their home ownership needs. She cares about her clients and will work tirelessly to achieve their goals.
Kathy is born and raised in Michigan but has lived around the world including Australia and Germany. Over the years, Kathy has worked as a customer service representative, bookkeeper, organized trade shows and traveled extensively calling on multi-million-dollar national accounts. Over time she moved into management when she decided to step back to raise her children. She resides in Birmingham where she has headed and served on many committees in the Birmingham schools for 20 years.
Kathy is a licensed realtor and has been with Lora K for the last 11 years. Kathy works as the office manager and administrative assistant to Lora Kazanjian. Her duties include managing all information flow between title companies, lenders, cooperative agents and clients on deals, listings and closings. She oversees the general office and day to day operations.
Paulette Apkarian
Paulette is a graduate of the University of Michigan in the fields of education and music. She taught language arts and vocal music for many years. She also worked alongside her husband in their printing companies for 25 years. She is passionate about her Armenian heritage, volunteering her musical and choreographic expertise to many organizations.
Paulette works as our client services and marketing manager. She is creative, hard-working, diligent, organized and always willing to go the “extra mile” for our clients. She coordinates all marketing and advertising for listings and branding. She is the teams’ client concierge facilitating proactive communication throughout the selling and buying experience bringing a luxury boutique experience with a personal touch to all of our clients.

Property Assessment
We will discuss the key selling features of your home and how we will highlight those to potential buyers. We will walk your home together to discuss staging ideas to help show your home in the best light. Understanding your home from your perspective is an essential start to a successful marketing plan.
Professional Photography
We only use professional photography to depict your home across all print, web and social media sites. These can include still photos, aerial photography and virtual tours. The buyers first impression of your home is from these photos.
Listing Syndication
We will create an online buzz for your home by pushing the listing out to many real estate web sites. We enhance your listing to give your home more exposure at the top of search results. We give potential buyers extensive details and visual advertising of your home, giving them the opportunity to find out more by contacting us directly.
Professional Networking
As an experienced listing Realtor, respected by my peers, I collaborate and network with fellow agents to personally spread the word about your listing. Additionally, with an established client base and strong referral network I reach out to potential buyers for your home within my sphere.
Social Network Marketing
We utilize social media to further reach potential buyers. My Instagram and Facebook network will showcase your property to potential buyers. This allows us to present your property in various postings, photo albums, video reels and targeted ads.
Open House
These will be hosted at your discretion. Open houses are a great way to have potential buyers walk through your home with someone from my team present who is knowledgeable about your home and wants to sell it.
What Happens When We List
Signage
A sign will be placed on your property to indicate your home is for sale. The “For Sale” sign remains the single, best producing form of advertisement for residential sales.
Broker’s Tour
Your home will be featured on tour for all area agents across all brokerage firms the first Tuesday after it is listed. In addition to a great online presence, it’s important to allow agents to preview your home in person.
Showing your Home
Together, we will determine scheduling parameters. We manage all showings through the software program called Showing Desk. You can download the app to your computer or phone to manage showings.
Feedback
Analyzing and following up on feedback from the agent and their buyer after a showing on your home is an important piece in understanding if our pricing and marketing strategies are successful. In addition, this is how I maintain a list of potentially interested buyers. All feedback we receive is shared with you.
We stay in contact with agents and potential buyers and continuously keep you in the know.
Managing the Deal and Closing
The days between “selling your home” and closing are very important. We watch over the details and contingencies of the deal including inspection, the buyer’s mortgage process, the appraisal, title work, closing documents, the 24-hour walk-through, possession periods and more. We proactively communicate with you to make sure you are aware of the status and timeline to closing. This is our area of expertise and we want to make the process as smooth as possible for you.
