CAST BIOGRAPHIES

Andrew Bausher (Nathan Detroit) is thrilled to be portraying one of his dream roles alongside this talented cast! He was last seen on the Genesius stage in Spring Awakening as "Ernst". He is a rising senior at Exeter Township Senior High and is a member of their concert choir, "Eagleaires", and Marching Band. He has been seen on stages all over Berks County, as well as Ephrata and Quakertown. He has also performed regionally at the Bucks County Playhouse in their youth company. Some previous credits include: Heathers (Geek), Footloose (Willard), Memphis (Dance Captain/Featured Ensemble), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Bun Foo), The Addams Family (Pugsley), and Young Frankenstein (Ensemble). He would like to thank his coaches: Kelly Kantner, Kevin Cooper, and Jericho Deterior for their guidance; his family for their constant love and support; and finally, Becka for her trust in his ability to bring this dream role to life. Chloe Marturano (Miss Adelaide) is a sophomore at Exeter High School and is honored to play "Miss Adelaide" in this iconic piece of musical theater. Chloe was recently seen on the Genesius stage in the incredibly-moving production, Fun Home (Small Alison); other favorite productions include Elf: The Musical (Jovie), Bye Bye Birdie (Margie), and Thoroughly Modern Millie (Rita). Chloe held the principal role in the independent film, “Miss CIA: Let the Games Begin,” she’s performed as a solo vocalist at FirstEnergy Stadium and is a member of the Berks County Senior Chorus. Reading Music Foundation’s 2017 “Esprit de Corp” award winner, Chloe also takes part in Exeter’s marching and concert bands, orchestra and elite choirs. Best of luck to her Guys & Dolls family, and endless gratitude to Becka for her faith in Chloe to play this incredible role, originated by Vivian Blaine! Chloe thanks her Mom, Dad, sisters and friends for their unwavering love and support! Ben Daniels (Sky Masterson) is an upcoming junior at Exeter Township senior high school and would like to thank the cast and the crew for an amazing experience being part of such a classic and timeless show. He would also like to thank his family for all of the support that they constantly give him. Some of Ben’s favorite roles have been "Jimmy" in Thoroughly Modern Millie and "Tevye" in Fiddler on the Roof. Paulina Cevallos (Sarah Brown) is a sophomore at Reading Senior High School. She is extremely involved in many activities including concert band, choir, Vocal Company, symphonic orchestra, jazz band, woodwind choir, Aevidum, Key Club, National Honors Society, county band, county chorus, district chorus, region chorus, and county jazz band. She has been in many theatre productions. Some productions Paulina has done at Genesius include In the Heights, Mary Poppins, Bye Bye Birdie (Rosie), Side Show, Dream Girls, Rock of Ages, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She is excited to perform this amazing show with such a supportive and amazing cast and she would like to thank Becka for giving her this opportunity to play such an amazing character. Roberto Guevarra (Nicely Nicely Johnson) is a Junior at Reading Senior High School. He is involved in many school activities including Concert Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Band, County, District and Region Choirs. His recent theatrical performances include Throughly Modern Mille, Heathers, Memphis. He would like to thank his friends for always believing in him and his mom for always being by his side. He is very privileged that Becka has given him the opportunity to perform on stage. Future plans are to attend college to major in Music Education. Lorna Graham (Rusty Charlie) is excited to be back on the Genesius stage after a long hiatus. Lorna is an upcoming sophomore at Point Park University in Pittsburgh PA studying Funeral Services. Stage performances include, "Tiger Lily" in Peter Pan, "TIffy" in Belsnickel Scrooge, "Kate" in Annie, and the littlest hippie in HAIR. Thank you to the production team and staff at Genesius Theatre for giving us misfits a home. Kelsey Malone (Arvide Abernathy) is very excited to be back on the Genesius stage and has had so much fun working with this cast and crew! She will be a senior at Exeter Senior High School this fall and has been seen on and off the Genesius stage. Lately, she was seen as "Pepper" in Beauty and the Beast this past December and Ensemble in Memphis this past summer. She also stage managed Heathers last season and Spring Awakening this season. Her shows at Genesius are in the double digits, but she always helps out backstage whenever she can! Kelsey would like to thank the production team and the cast for making this such an enjoyable process. She’d also like to thank her friends and family for always supporting her Sydney Boyd (Agatha) is elated to be in ​Guys And Dolls! She is going to be a ninth grader at Twin Valley High School. She has been in many shows including ​Hairspray Jr. (IQ), ​Music Man (Ensemble), ​High School Musical Jr. (Miss Tenny/Moderator/Brainiac #1), and ​Sleeping Beauty Kids (King Hubert/Asst Director). She has been taking vocal lessons with Mary McCormick-Archutowski for almost a year. She would like thank all her friends, family, and teachers for supporting her. Luke Bennethum (Calvin/Ensemble) is very excited to be performing in Guys and Dolls. Luke will be a freshmen this fall at Berks Catholic High School. Luke has performed in Berks Catholic’s production of Beauty and the Beast as a “Villager”, Genesius’ Cinderella Kids as a “Town Crier”, La Salle Academy’s Alice @ Wonderland as “The White Rabbit”, Genesius’ Thoroughly Modern Millie as the “Policeman/Ensemble”, and was last seen in Genesius’ Hairspray JR. as “Wilbur Turnblad”. Luke would like to thank his parents for giving him support. He would also like to thank Becka, Dara, Emily, Sam, and Chris for helping him with his blocking, choreography, music, and giving him this wonderful opportunity. Danielle Russell (Martha) is so excited to play the role of "Martha"! She finished 7th grade, and has been homeschooled her entire life! Danielle had an amazing time preforming in Guys and Dolls, and enjoys being with her friends! She would like to thank her family for all of the support!!!

Guys and Dolls follows two young men and their love for women and gambling. Nathan Detroit needs $1,000 to pay a garage owner to host his big craps game, so he bets Sky Masterson that Sky cannot get the virtuous Sarah Brown out on a date. Sky plays it smart and negotiates a date in exchange for bringing people to Sara’s mission. Meanwhile Nathan’s fiancée, Adelaide, wants him to marry her.

BIOGRAPHIES (continued...)

Jahlil Little (Harry the Horse) is thrilled to be making his Genesius stage debut. He started theatre when he was in the 10th grade and instantly fell in love. He was afraid to be involved on the stage when he was perceived as an athlete on the football team. He loves what he does on the stage though and has not let other people’s perceptions of him dictate what he does. He is a thespian and loves it! Jose Galarza Jr. (Angie the Ox) has performed in productions both in and out of high school, including roles such as "Mr. Mushnik" in Little Shop of Horrors, "Aldolpho" in The Drowsy Chaperone and "Grandpa" in Meet Me in St. Louis. He would like to thank his family and friends for all their love and support. Kevin Lee Marrero Ramirez (Lt. Brannigan) is thrilled to be making his Genesius stage debut as "Lt. Brannigan" in Guys and Dolls! Kevin is your very own Puerto Rican who is funny and can only think outside the box. Kevin is a rising junior and loves to draw and sing. Kevin is an Aquarius and hates bullies. Kevin has been a part of four productions with RSD and has even directed one. John Wodnick (Benny Southwest). This is John’s first show at Genesius and only his second ever. He is very grateful for the opportunity to play "Benny Southwest" in this production of Guys and Dolls. John would like to thank his friends and family for their endless support and care. Evan Lydon (Joey Biltmore/Master of Ceremonies). This is Evan’s 4th show overall, this is his first-time doing community theatre. He is loving this new experience and plans to continue doing it in the future. He’d like to thank his parents, family and friends for supporting him through this as well as his great friend John Wodnick for always dealing with him on the ride home from rehearsal. Eva Care (Mimi/Ensemble). Eva Care’s love of participating in musicals began in the fall of 2018 when she played a lioness in Lion King Jr. at Exeter Junior High School, she was one of the "Dynamites" in Hair Spray Jr. in the winter of 2019 at Genesius, and is now in the ensemble for Guys and Dolls! Eva loves learning about the theater, spending time with her friends and family, and she loves to volunteer at local shelters as well as at a local horse rescue. Katie McKelvey (General Matilda B Cartwright) is very excited to be in the show. This is her 9th production with Genesius and hopes to do many more here and in the community. She wants to thank her friends and family for supporting her in doing what she wishes to do. Harrison Brumbaugh (Big Jule) is thrilled to be back at Genesius. He first appeared on the Genesius stage as "John Bechdel" in Fun Home last fall. Harry is a cellist with the Reading Symphony Junior Strings Orchestra. He would like to thank his family for being his biggest supporters. Zoe Banks (Allison) is a 7th grader at Exeter Jr. High School. She previously played "Shelley" in Genesius’ production of Hairspray Jr. and participated in the ensemble of Exeter Jr. High’s production of Lion King Jr. Zoe is currently studying dance at LimeLight Dance Studio in Wyomissing, PA where she has been dancing for twelve years. She would like to thank her friends and family for their support and love and especially to her mom and dad for driving her everywhere! Ellen Rochlin (Ferguson) is very excited to be a part of this amazing cast for Guys and Dolls. This is Ellen’s fourth show at Genesius and she has absolutely loved every second of her experience here. She would like to wish all of her cast members the best of luck, and thanks to Becka for doing such an amazing job on this show. Farren Christ (Vernon) is very excited to be making her Genesius debut! She is a junior at Berks Catholic, and has theater experience with RCP and her school shows. She has also participated in the RCT Theater Gala and the Elizabethtown Summer Music Camp. She studies voice and piano with Christopher Hoster and plans to study Music Education in college. Dejan Merrow (Waiter/Ensemble) is so happy to be included in the cast of Guys and Dolls! This is Dejan’s 2nd show at Genesius. He has previously performed this past spring as "Seaweed" in Hairspray Jr. He has also played the part of "Mufasa" in Exeter Junior High’s Lion King, Jr. where he has just recently completed 8th grade. Dejan would like to thank his family for all of their support as well as Mrs. Becka Malanios. Mrs. M encouraged Dejan to pursue theatre and song. Thanks Mrs. M! I hope to continue to make you and my mom proud! Gianna Ollinger (Ensemble) a Berks Catholic freshman, previously has performed at Genesius in Music Man and Hairspray. She was also in Peter Pan with Rainbow Theatre and A Christmas Carol with Yocum Institute, where she is in the Junior Ensemble. She enjoys Broadway shows, painting, drawing and piano. Thanks for this opportunity! Katie McClain (Ensemble) is excited to return to Genesius after performing in Hairspray Jr earlier this year. She has just finished up the 6th grade at Mount Penn Elementary and has performed in Annie, Cinderella and High School Musical. She’d like to thank her family and friends for all their support. Elizabeth West (Ensemble) is excited to be in this production of Guys and Dolls! She played "Zazu" in the Exeter JHS production of The Lion King and recently played "Mr. Pinky" in Hairspray. She is currently taking voice lessons. She’d like to thank her parents, sister, and especially her friends.



CREATIVE TEAM BIOS

Becka Malanios (Director) is excited to be back working on the Genesius Stage in her directorial debut. Becka is no stranger to the Genesius stage, last being seen on stage last summer as "Marge" in Bridges of Madison County. Other stage performances include, "Miss Mona" in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, "Alice Beineke" in The Addams Family, "Miss Hannigan" in Annie, and "Fagin" in Oliver, and a very fun role in our upcoming season here at Genesius... Becka currently holds the position of Musical Director at Exeter Junior High School and Choreographer at Twin Valley High School. She would like to thank the following: "Larry Fecho and the board of Directors at Genesius Theatre for bringing me into the production team. Chris Sperat, for helping, mentoring and for being my friend. Albert Garcia for just your being you. My husband Chris and son Niko for allowing Mommy to do what she loves and her daughter, Lorna, for sharing this experience with her. I love you a bushel and a peck." Emily Snyder (Choreographer) is so excited to be a small part of Guys and Dolls! She has been a member of Genesius for the past 17 years and has loved every minute. Some favorite Genesius shows include: West Side Story, Parade, High School Musical, Carousel, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Bridges of Madison County. Other favorite shows include: Thoroughly Modern Millie, Joseph..., and Legally Blonde. Emily has been choreographing for the past 10 years, working on shows with the Conrad Weiser, Wyomissing, and Wilson school districts. She is currently living her dream teaching music at Whitfield Elementary School (#WhitfieldProud). You can also see Emily on the Genesius stage this fall as Ariel in The Little Mermaid. Enjoy the show! Adalberto ‘Albert’ Garcia, Jr. (Sound Designer) is an Executive Director of Operations at Legal Risk Services, Inc. in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He is the current Sound Designer at Genesius Theatre, Fleetwood Community Theatre, Wyomissing Area and Pottstown High School’s. This is Albert’s 60th production that he has sound designed. Productions comprising of musicals, plays, talent shows, etc. Albert is also the Owner/Operator of Eko Entertainment, LLC. a production-based company located in Temple, Pennsylvania. Albert can also be seen on stage in December when he portrays the role of "Sebastian" in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Zack Spadaccia (Lighting Designer) is excited to be designing his eighth production at Genesius. Previous credits include: Young Frankenstein, Rock of Ages, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Heathers, Memphis, Beauty and The Beast, and Spring Awakening. Other design credits include Jekyll & Hyde and Gypsy (SCCT) and Dogfight (Penn State). Zack has been ‘behind the curtain’ since first working on Grease Jr. during middle school in 2006. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre. He currently works for 4Wall Entertainment in Lititz, PA as an Account Manager. Samantha Pugliese (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be making her stage managing and Genesius debut with Guys and Dolls. An avid theatre lover, she made her on stage debut with Aladdin Jr. before discovering her love of all things behind the scenes. She would like to thank the cast for making her first show wonderful as well as Becka and Larry for giving her the incredible opportunity. Ellen started playing piano at age four and joined the troupe at Genesius Theatre at the age of 13 as a pianist, musical director, and actor. She went on to major in Musical Theatre, Directing, and Dramaturgy in college. In New York, she assisted Harold Prince, Alan Jay Lerner, and Charles Strouse on numerous Broadway

shows and also worked as a Broadway audition accompanist, composer, and musical director. She has alsoa worked in casting and directing for plays, musicals, revues, and commercials. She currently teaches theatre and film at RACC and is a Teaching Artist at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton.

Ellen loves to work with students of all ages and abilities including beginners, high school students auditioning for college, and experienced actors preparing for auditions and challenging roles. First four lesson rates are based on a PWYC (Pay What You Can) basis.
