P
roverbs 18:21 expounds on this same principle when it says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it will eat the fruit thereof.” It is important for us to realize that we are physical and spiritual beings living in a physical and spiritual world and that the words that we speak are more than noise. Our words can literally determine success or failure. The right word at the right time is very powerful. Isaiah 50:4 “the servant of God says ‘The Lord God has given me the tongue of a disciple and one who is taught that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary.” When someone is depressed and discouraged, the right words can lift them up.
