I WANT THE CHANCE TO TAKE CONTROL Hi Anton. It is a real pleasure for us to be able to do this interview with you, and to think that you were just here with us in Buenos Aires a few days ago. We are thankful that we have the chance to catch up with you ahead of your participation in SpaceFest! 2016. Right on. I had a great time in your country and I was treated very well by the people and the promoters.
You’ve recently released "Third World Pyramid". What can you tell us about this body of work? That there is another album coming in December or January that I wrote and recorded at the same exact time but it’s totally different. Wanted to challenge people's ideas about what they think they know about me or anything.
As noted in the introduction, you performed very recently in Buenos Aires. How did you feel when you were in Buenos Aires? I felt much better than I did in Chile even though I wanted it to go so well for everyone. It's just really hard for me to be perfect. I thought Argentina went much better and I love South America and its people, but I simply need more time to adjust and move slower... see more, meet more people... but that takes money... I want to come back... it would be great if say us and Ride played together or something – a special event. I don't want a festival and I don't want to play with local bands in their home town. I want to see South American bands respected in the world. It doesn't help anyone to have a local band play. It's old thinking.
I’d like to ask you a few questions about your participation in Pure Phase Ensemble. How are you preparing for this SpaceFest / Pure Phase Ensemble? Doing interviews. I’ve told the big boss that I want the chance to take control, to empower the people with order... and then let them shine. I want it to be very good and I work very fast, but that means stopping bullshit as fast as I see it. I don't want to jam unless it is a weapon...
You gave a brilliant show on the Niceto Club stage for three hours. Do your concerts for The Brian Jonestown Massacre always last so long? We played all year... 3 hours or more... I wanted it to be a special thing that happened once in my life... because very few people every even try to do that so we did it like 80 or more times.
Tell us what you know about the other Pure Phase Ensemble members this year. Have you met or talked with any of them? No but I respect them before I know anything. I start with respect when I meet someone... If they pull some shit, then that changes but I know this will be beautiful, because its not about me... I’m not your ordinary gringo. I don't give a fuck about having people build a statue of me or some shit. I love music. I love the people. life is hard and every government fails.... we have to make our own culture. Pure Phase Ensemble rehearses for a week or so before taking to the stage. Do you think anybody has pre-conceived expectations about the songs you will

create or will you improvise on site? I’m going to make it all up with our team. Drums up, unless magic melodies appear. Will you be involved in any other activities at SpaceFest? Will you have time to enjoy any of the other performances before the Pure Phase Ensemble performance? I don't enjoy hanging out much... I hope I meet someone to drink tea with and relax... and talk.
